Really ... that a person has the capacity to believe the Good News?

That God has given in enough information about Himself in creation and that people actually suppress that knowledge.
They may believe IF THEY WILL.

The will can be a problem, as we discussed earlier.

see what I mean? ducks as rock is thrown by another poster
I asked for a reason. People here him say that and automatically accuse him. After I ask usually the truth comes out. He does not believe that. He has shared that many times. But the false accusers here keep attacking him of believing it the C way

Exactly. The right to become children of God is given to us. If the right to become children of God was not given, the power to believe unto salvation would not be given either. See that?
I see that we recieve Jesus through believing the Gospel ( through faith) As many as RECIEVE HIM . To them he gives ...

Yep, because they don’t understand the finer points of salvation.

Election is who are chosen

Predestination are what they are chosen to.
Election is a descriptor of those who have believed and those who have beleived are called to service.

No, the point is that we are not saved by any work, not even an act of the will. John 1:13.

It’s in response to those who deny the Spirits work in drawing us.

Yep we could Never have Faith unless god did the work to save ya. Convict us and teach us. We Could
Never come up on it in our own so it’s not in effect really our own will
Power.
In the same token it’s not Calvinist. A Calvinist believes a person is regenerated then POOF he has faith
we believe a person has faith then POOF he is made alive

Totally different

Predestination are what they are chosen to.
Predestination is of existing saints to adoption/glorification, not sinners to conversion. (Eph. 1:5, 11; Rom. 8:23, 29-30)

Election is to service, calling and purpose, not to salvation. (Isa. 42:1; Acts 9:15; Rom. 11:28)

Adoption is the future redemption of the body, not conversion. (Rom. 8:23, 15-17; Gal. 4:1-6)

Sinners become sons of God through the new birth, not through adoption. (John 1:12-13)

ummm

I disagree. he is saying 2 different things at the same time

I don't find pointing this out accusatory. I am actually slightly bemused and a bit amused

take that as weakness on my part, but I do see both sides of what he is saying

I would be personally grateful if you would not refer to certain other posters here as false accusers and attacking

just sayin' as they say

I am really not taking sides, but this is what I see.

Chosen in Him to be holy and blameless before God in love is a GOOD purpose.

so if I understand you at all (questionable at this point) you are saying believing is a work, so God believes for us?
How do you get this from what He said?
