I cherish how He uses His word with His spirit to encourage and admonish His believers, His flock.
So many debates over which denomination or system of belief most aligns with the truth of the word. It is never ending...on and on... once argued always argued….
For example, once saved always saved doctrine that uses the verse that states the Holy Spirit has sealed us, or another that says what God has started He will surely finish. There are many others that give credibility to that line of thinking.
On the other hand, we see lots of verses with the if or contain the words such as endure and finish the race. How about tbe verses that are clear about the practice of sin can leave one in a state of reprobation.
I use to be so confused, tossed back and forth. To be honest, I will not profess that I have it all figured out still, heavens no. I, however, do see so much more clearly, more peacefully, that it is unnecessary to pin one scripture against the other.
Jeremiah is one of my favorite books because it has helped me...wait, God and His word, are better more accurate acknowledgment of the source of help. Anyway, the Lord of Hosts has helped reconcile the verses together.
I am a simple gal, not near as cognitively gifted as many religious theologians. However, this verse just makes so much sense to me…
I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. And I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me. I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul.
Jeremiah 32:40-41 ESV
Bear with me, please...
He uses the word and His spirit to keep us in His pasture, and when we wonder as the flesh is so apt to do, He uses His unyielding resources to guide us where we need to be. The security will always be in Him..in leaning, in obeying, in depending, in trusting in Him. He is also clear that Loving Him with all our hearts and souls will be key in doing so.
Oh Lord…
I know You know who You are dealing with, that You know, all to well, the weaknesses I possess, but that in You we all have security, in You we all have strength. Please forgive where my understanding is wrong, and help me not waver in my faith, help keep me solid in my resolve to stay in Your Holy presence and faithfulness.
In You alone the most sweetest, most rewarding, most edifying blessing is found.
You are my Shephard, I shall not want....
