if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV

My people
Called by my name

God's people have always been those who believe, and have faith, and love him.
This is specifically referring to Israel.

Christians are God's people

the NT speaks of fasting

you can just ignore all of it though since it seems to disagree with your personal interpretations

The wickedness of worldly people isn’t why we’re under judgement, they are part of the judgement. It’s Gods people that have brought Gods judgement on us.

This forum is a microcosm of Gods people and it doesn’t appear that Gods people have humbled themselves nor are they seeking Gods face and likely will not be doing so any time soon.
I think it is unwise to assume you know the majority of peoples hearts

Some OT passages are frequently being applied to the Body of Christ out of context.

Psalms 91, Jeremiah 29:11, and this particular passage are the evergreen favorites. :)

You’re welcome to your opinion.
Then please explain why you feel the way you do about this. I don't know about you but I know that hunger for him that unquechable thirst always craving to have just a bit more of him as if he only gives us enough to sate us and not starve but not satisfied so that we keep chasing after him, and I am not alone in this I know many here who know this hunger and thirst as well

I doesn’t take a brain surgeon to notice all the back hitting and name calling on this forum. 😊

To a point yes mainly in the bdf I don't call it the field of blood for no reason but I also believe even with all this the few who do love him and shine his light are like a candle in the darkness, of course in many of the other sections of cc you find a much more mild and warm people because they aren't trying to shove their evidence of how right they are in your face.

I cannot say for sure how many who debate so intensely and name call and act immature actually seek his face or not but I do know several of them the issue is that we tend to be blind to how many there actually are because without even meaning to we see them in a negative light if we disagree with them or if they view scripture in a different light this is why regardless of if I agree with them or not I look to the heart the fruits will always show whether that is good fruits or bad fruits.

the previous chapter .
21Hearken therefore unto the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall make toward this place: hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive.

22¶If a man sin against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to make him swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house;

23Then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, by requiting the wicked, by recompensing his way upon his own head; and by justifying the righteous, by giving him according to his righteousness.

24¶And if thy people Israel be put to the worse before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee; and shall return and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication before thee in this house;

25Then hear thou from the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.

Who else are ' his people ' in the old testament?
Who else are ' his people ' in the old testament?
12¶And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.

13If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;

14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

He could heal the little bit of land under your feet thats freehold, but you actually need to start gardening it. Those industrial wastelands and open sewers and clogged motorways arent going to transform overnight

Ungodliness, hatred, blasphemy, sexual immortality, murder, corruption, pestilence.....Is America under God’s judgment? As a person of faith, I cannot deny that the answer is yes.

With all the chaos that seems to consuming and growing throughout the country, I am reminded of how God finally had enough of the Israelites wickedness.

My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. "Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children”
Hosea 4:6

I live in a state that has completely abandoned any notion or reverence for Jesus. Anything called good is shamed. Anything evil is embraced. Of course there are still many God fearing people here, but our number continue to decline.

Can we as nation repent and call on God’s mercy? The people of Nineveh repented and mourned at the preaching of Jonah and God forgive them. Can we also? Sadly I don’t see that happening.

“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.”
2 Chronicles 7: 14
isn’t the whole world kind of at the same state of chaos ? If you look at the Middle East , the Asian continents , russia the South Pacific it seems as if there is a pretty powerful force covering the globe

the Bible tells us that the world will go from bad to worse as we approach the end . Our hope isn’t in this world but we have a promised land anyone on earth who repents and believes the gospel has a promosed land that no one has ever seen Based solely on his promise and his ability to keep it

“Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This earth has no hope it is doomed

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:15-

We have a promise of faith God telling us after this world , we have a new home waiting
