Christians are God's people

the NT speaks of fasting

you can just ignore all of it though since it seems to disagree with your personal interpretations

The verse is speaking of Israel as a nation. The poster is correct, it's not talking about the church.

The Word allows for nations to be led by God or not. When a nation turns from God it is not going to receive His help.
My post is not in some kind of code. The words are plain; do not complicate what is self-explanatory.

I do not think the US is being punished.

I just think God is removing his hands of blessing because the church has as much as faded . And he is just letting us as he said in Romans 1. Suffer the consequences of our own sin

We're having this discussion in the Replacement Theology thread. Believers are not a nation. For more detail check out the discussion.
No thanks. There is no replacement, there is only those who believe and those who do not. And we are a nation, not america or any other geographical nation, but a nation of Christendom an nation of faith.

You can participate where ever you choose and you don't need my permission. I will do like wise. Cheers

Sorry my friend, but the church has never been called a nation, It has not replaced Israel as the nation to whom are given specific promises concerning that nation

This is a basic tenent of Christianity. Believers in Christ are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a HOLY NATION that praise the one who called us out of darkness into his marvelous light. You’re comments are completely in opposition to the word of God.

1Pe 2:9 (KJV) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

For the record, 1 peter was written to the jews.

no place is the church called a nation.

also, for someone who has said he is done responding to me,

It’s time we stop conversing.
he just proves that his word is no more reliable than his doctrine, as he continues to respond to me even though I have stated I am done conversing with him, as I refuse to converse with someone who continually through lack of even trying misrepresents my position,

I’ll call out anti-biblical doctrine that anybody posts.

If someone is gonna call something out

1. prove it (he has failed)

2.prove at the very least that when your gonna call someone out, you understand what the so called false doctrine is by at the very least proving you know what the other is saying. Something else he has failed to do.
it’s at the point it is laughable

Anyway. once again, someone please show Us any letter written to THE CHURCH (Jew and gentile alike) where the church is called a nation.

if you can’t, humble yourself to admit it, then I think it is time you step back and let some humble people try to to show us the word

(peter wrote his letter the jews, hence in anything he wrote, you have to determine what is said that biblically represents not just them but us, and what biblically represents JUST THEM

I think these forums represent a fringe group among the saints. Most of you
will never hear anyone in your churches discuss the topics in these forums.

If you are not mindful of that you might get a wrong view of reality and think that people in your
church are like people in these forums but you are probably the only one in your church like you. ;)

In real life I hope we are not conversation monopolizers and spouters of our opinions and instead
are asking people about themselves and listening and showing that we care about them, and loving
on them. That is what most people need, not our opinions about things that really don't matter to them.
My church talks of these things :) Perhaps me more so than some others ;):giggle:

We have weekly community groups and discuss many issues, while delving deeper into the Sunday teaching :D

1) Not in the sense of the verse in question .

2) Not in the sense or context of the verse in question .

3) ' Healing the land ' refers to Israel and not the USA in 2020 .
let's read what the bible says and not apply verses out of context.

Why do you do that, cut up the word of God?
Every verse in his word applies to me as the Spirit reveals it.
Heard a saying once" much learning hath made you mad"!

Its a bible verse . Paul preaching the word of God in context to an unsaved man .
And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad. Acts 26.24

"Cut up the Word of God " ? Every verse is For us , but not every verse is to us .

You have that way about you brother, to the point. lol Great job.
It might have been much more impactful if the OP had not included the verse. I really should read the entire OP before responding.

So we are not his people called by his name, and we aren't to humble ourselves and pray, and He will not heal our land as a result?
This is the question. Please answer that.
No he has no intention of healing this land because he has given this land so long and so many chances to be healed but America has become babylon this land is filled with greed and corruption for instance did you know over 60% of pornagrophy is done in America? and what about todays modern music the basic theme is people boasting of themselves

However anyone who studies the end times knows that the period of grace is at it's end and that judgement is indeed coming swiftly, this nation has turned it's back on God and will be judged for it

Jesus has died for each and everyone . If they refuse to believe the truth so as to be saved. Then they will be judged on rejecting Jesus. The only way . The only way to glorification.

16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world ; but that the world through him might be saved.

18¶He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already , BECAUSE he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
