Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
9:6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any [thing] that is done under the sun.
THOSE THAT THINK THAT THEY HAVE TALKED TO THE DEAD, ARE VERY MUCH DECEIVED, THEY ARE NOT TALKING TO A DEAD GHOST, OR A DEAD SPIRIT OF A MAN,
BUT ARE TALKING TO Satan AND SOME OF Satan DEMON'S, AND FALLEN ANGEL'S, JUST LIKE THE BIBLE TEACHES US AND TELLS US , AND THE BIBLE IS ALL WAYS RIGHT. PRAISE GOD.
THE DEAD IS IN THEIR GRAVES, TILL YESUAH COMES AND RESURECT THEM OUT OF THEIR GRAVES, THEY ARE NOT IN HEAVEN, BUT WILL GO TO HEAVEN WITH YESUAH AFTER YESUAH RESURECT'S THEM FROM THEIR GRAVES.

There are a lot of scriptures that reference the dead, in the sense, that they are alive fisicly, but are dead spiritually (unregenerate).

Are you familiar with 1 Samuel 28 where Saul had a woman with a familiar spirit to pull up Samuel from the grave and talked to him about whether he should go to war with the Philistines?

I agree with you in that, no one is speaking to the spirit of someone who has died, because their spirits are either in the presence of the Lord or are down in Hades. If any spirit is coming and in the guise of someone who has died, then it would be demonic activity.

The BODIES of those who have died in faith are in their graves. At the time of death, their spirits departed and went to be in the presence of the Lord, conscious and aware.

Those who die in their sins, at the time of death their spirits depart and go down into Sheol/Hades where they will remain in torment in flame until the end of the millennial kingdom, where their spirits will be released from Hades and will receive resurrected bodies and will stand before God at the great white throne judgment. When their names are not found written the book of life, they will be cast into the lake of fire.

"Therefore we are always confident, although we know that while we are at home in the body, we are away from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, then, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord."

"For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. So what shall I choose? I do not know. I am torn between the two. I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better indeed. But it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body."

Christians have come long way from Ecclesiastes. Why don't you get acquainted with Christian truth? All the OT saints as well as the NT saints who have passed on are now with Christ, and they know more than you realize. They can both talk and praise the Lord.

ECC. 9:5.
For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward;
for the memory of them is forgotten.
PS. 115:17.
The dead praise not The LORD, neither any that go down into silence.
1TH. 4:15.
For this we say unto you by The Word of The Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of The Lord
shall not prevent them which are 'asleep'.
16.
For The Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17.
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with The Lord.
18.
Wherefore comfort one another with these Words.
1TH.
4:14.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which 'sleep in Jesus' will God bring with Him.

read/study/learn, this is our JOB...

As God made man from the earth, to be nourished by the earth for subduing and ruling the earth, the Old Testament deals with man's occupation with the earth. That is, his physicality is pushed to the front. The human spirit and a man's soul vitalize and animate the man, so at death his vitality and animation are over in respect to the earth. So at death, in the Old Testament man is regarded as inanimate. Can he worship towards Jerusalem when dead? Can he read God-s Word when dead? Can he eat when dead? No. And God's recovery of man in the Old Testament is revealed in resurrection.

But the New Testament reveals not only resurrection, but a recovery for the human spirit AND the soul. Man is not only made from the earth for the earth, but he is made in the image and likeness of God to express and display God - like the rest of the creature, but at the highest level. For this, man must partake of the divine nature and be given a process whereby this divine nature can permeate a once corrupted soul. Paul write therefore in Colossians 1:24-27

24 "I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church, 25 of which I became a minister according to the [g]stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, 26 the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. 27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."

The body is consigned to a corporate death with Christ and the human spirit and soul come under the microscope. The earth is not neglected in any way, but it is to be subdued and ruled by men and women who are like Christ is DISPOSITION. So the human spirit, the dwelling place on earth of the Almighty, and the soul of man, the thoughts, feelings and decisions, of men and women, now enter focus. And with them comes their function and destiny.

But any schooled scholar of scripture cannot deny that, in retrospect, there is much said in the Old Testament about the spirit and the soul. It just not emphasized. For instance, Ecclesiastes 3:21 and 12:7 give much information as the the spirit of man and its destiny. The scriptures on "sheol" are plentiful. But as Paul reports, the Church that which is taken from the side of Jesus in death, and the indwelling Holy Spirit are not revealed to the prophets of old. Our Lord Jesus made that clear to Nicodemus. It took someone from heaven to reveal these things (Jn.3:12-13).

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”
‭‭John‬ ‭11:25-26‬

These dead men are looking pretty lovely since Christ came

“And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭27:52-53‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I would imagine they are shouting in heaven about being redeemed by Jesus

“And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple:

and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭7:14-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Moses died also but he looks pretty alive also even glorified and having a conversation about important matters

“And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias: Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:30-31‬ ‭

it seems like Solomon’s thoughts about death were before the New Testament was revealed to mankind so death is different now since Jesus was seated on the throne of his kingdom in heaven

“And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭14:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

seems as if Jesus is able to give life to the dead and there’s a difference in dying in him like the blessing declared there or rejecting him and dying in our sins is different

“And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:23-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

if we reject the gospel we die in our sins and are bound to death and await judgement of the dead according to thier works

if we accept the gospel we are alive and well when we part our flesh and go to be with the lord

i agree, this will be a means for the devil to deceive many people. The truth will set you free. Knowing that the dead do not speak to us will save us from many lies, (when a loved christian relative appears and tells me to ignore the bible because God told them, we know it is a lie because the dead don't speak to us and the bible does not lie.)

Solomon is still the wisest man who ever lived, full of wisdom from God, and Ecclesiastes testifies of Christ.

We ought not dismiss his books. They are scripture.

Be careful.

You are walking upon the razor's edge of heresy.

Why do I write this caution? According to the Bible the destiny of man is death. Death means death - no physical mental or spiritual activity at all. Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal" - Genesis 6:3a

Old Testament narrative, as well as some Jewish tradition, isn't very clear about what happens after death. The "place" where one goes following physical death is called SHEOL. The definition of SHEOL is very limited, but certainly does NOT imply activity of any sort. In SHEOL, the dead are said to sleep. Nobody walks in their sleep nor do they talk in their sleep in SHEOL. King David bemoaned the fact he'd not be able to praise God in SHEOL.

The forbidden passage quoted from 1 Samuel has been interpreted to imply demonic activity and/or a forbidden sort of conjuring of the prophet from the sleep of the dead - into a sort of twenty-first century zombie. THE POINT of the passage isn't to confer knowledge about the dead, but to identify the sin of Saul. Be careful to put the point of the passage firmly in front of your eyes and do not be side tracked by issues that are fuzzy at best.

The idea of SHEOL being something other than spiritual bed-time comes from the Roman Catholic church's doctrine of Purgatory. Somewhat justified by the non-canonical book of the Apocrypha and the writing of Dante Alighieri, the RCC doctrine is actually meant to elicit donation$ from gullible living members of the church. These donations supposedly finance prayers from a priest and supposedly raise the dead through several levels of temporary suffering into salvation. This doctrine TOTALLY denies the Biblical assertion that one is saved by the blood of Christ ALONE. One is NOT saved by prayers uttered by a religious mercenary.

Something incredible happened when Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected. The entire concept of SHEOL changed drastically. The gospels tell us that judgment happened then and that those who were justified by faith were raised to new life EVEN AT THAT TIME. Some passages even testify that hundreds of the dead were seen walking around Jerusalem by their families. These passages are generally ignored by post-protestant Christians because they deny the RCC doctrine of purgatory, which is very profitable to the church.

It's about the money, brothers and sisters. It has little or nothing to do with spiritual truth. It's about SHEOL being destroyed by God who died to save us from it.

Hollywood is infested with Zombies. Let's keep the fictitious living dead out of our doctrines. The purpose of zombies is to make money for Hollywood and the Roman Catholic Church. Samuel wasn't one of them.

that's me, hollering from the choir loft...

That people who are technically alive are counted dead by God if they're spiritually dead.
Thus Jesus said, let the dead bury their dead.
When I read this post my mind went to our creation, how we originate from the dust, and it tended to make more sense to me. We are from the dust and not alive until the Holy Spirit, invited, comes into our being.

This truly is rebirth, but not quite what is taught about our being taken up to Jesus-Yeshua.
