Text doesn't say a believer needs to be led around by the hand either, yet some do.
"9 Pray then like this:"
best wishes

Its more about who Jesus is speaking to and when. We read about God in the old testament speaking to Moses ect why not follow what God said to moses, Abraham, issac , Jacob . When Jesus starts his ministry to Israel its still the Old testament. The new testament doesn't begin with the birth of Jesus. It begins with his death .

Well jesus said no to repetitious prayers
I agree, the Lord gives us many scripture verses about prayer.

I don't think it is the repeating God instructs against, it is mindless repeating. We are to truly mean our prayers with all our heart and soul. Many of the Psalms are prayers that feed our souls if we truly live these prayers.

Matt. 6:7 “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.

I so wish I could reach your understanding that God is spirit and scripture is inspired by God. Every single scripture has a spiritual meaning, even those reporting chronological history. God uses the Hebrews and gentiles to explain, but we are not to discount the spiritual message by limiting God. God didn't create a new testament and an old testament that are different but the old testament explains what man divided--God does not disagree with God, ever, nor is God changed by time or people God is speaking to.

I see people discounting the literal meaning . Its no use if I tell my children a riddle about looking both ways before crossing the road . They need clear instruction . This is the same when a person asks us for directions when lost . Its no use and its not helpful if we tell them cryptic message on how to get there . They need clear instructions. God is no different. I believe what he actually says .

So how do you conclude they are always thinking about gentiles in those verses?
Because that's what Judaism teaches even today. The Jewish people have believed this for thousands of years. Look it up.

Why do you think they're still waiting for the Messiah to appear? Why don't they recognize Jesus as their Messiah? There are more than one reason, but for sure one of those reasons is because Jesus didn't deliver them from the Roman occupation.

And it's very sad that churches have been infected with false teaching adopted from Judaism about what Jesus is going to do upon his return.

They considered gentiles to be unclean.

Do you think about the unclean all the time?

If you squint your eye just right you can make almost any verse fit anything.
Boy, was that spot on! This is the only statement you've said so far I agree with!

After all, you have more experience in this department than anybody else!!!:ROFL::ROFL:

No I don't, but how Jews regard gentiles in a general sense isn't the point.
My point was that none of the scripture you quoted, even indirectly hinted to your point, "Gentiles were in the minds of Jews waiting for the kingdom to appear "

If you insist they do, alright then.

Did you notice who the only 'like' you got on that post was from?

Are you two in cahoots?
No. I am just wondering whether you realized the world does not revolve around your perspective.

My point was that Jews were (and still are) concerned with the occupation of their land by gentile forces, or the threat of it.

And when the Apostles asked the Lord if he would at that time restore the kingdom to Israel, it was because Israel was under Roman authority. This isnt opinion. It's fact.

Oh, that was what you meant by "in the minds", you meant in a negative way.

I said the same when I mentioned Luke 1 and Zacharias "So yes, all enemies, human or spiritual. Remember at that time, Rome was their conqueror and Pompey the Great actually walked into their Holy of Holies. "

What the Jews think, what I think, what you think, has absolutely nothing to do with the truth of God. How you relate to God has great importance to you, and it is important that what we say about God reflects the truth. God is vitally concerned with forgiving you of your sins so you may live with Him forever, all your involvement with gentiles/Jews and such are besides the point. If they don't help with what God is moist concerned with they are just getting in the way of the truth of the Lord.

My point on this thread is show how Jesus words get taken from their context and how we no longer understand what he said . This isn't the only verse . Many things Jesus is saying for what ever reason are taught as if Jesus is speaking to us . We don't do this with things said in Leviticus for example . Why when we get to the four Gospels we don't care who Jesus is speaking to ,we automatically take what he is saying and apply it to us ?

We read in other places in the bible where a question is asked on how to do something. Say in Ruth or another book in the Ot an instruction or literally how to furnish the tabernacle or something . We immediately recognise the audience and context . Why is it when it comes to the four gospels we Apply literally everything Jesus says to ourselves?

throughfaith--That illuminates how essential it is to not lean on our own understanding but take everything to the Father for His confirmation and guidance by Holy Spirit.
Two of the Gospels clearly state at the beginning they were written to tell us who Jesus was, after 2,000 we know who He was.
