Interesting

Though, in my experience and History can confirm, any time a woman is"leading" a church, a government, or an Educational system it is unnatural and unbalanced. Men ARE different than Women- God made Men to lead
Part of the FALL is Women taking the lead and making foolish
Emotional based choices
All one has to do is take a look at the current state of the world to see
The product of Feminization.
an over simplification of a very big problem

men are leading...everywhere

how's that working? we have all made foolish choices but as we grow both older in the Lord and as we live, we should stop making those kinds of choices

I'm sorry if you find yourself not able to keep up :cautious:

Catholic is a denomination..it seems amongst thousands 🙂 can’t understand why...

right. Only that is not true. Stop venerating Mary and filling your churches with idols, including Jesus on the cross (He is no longer on it...why do you keep putting Him there?) and you will be closer to what scripture plainly teaches

not going to get into a discussion about Catholic practices. they are not my problem

Paul was an inspired apostle of the Lord and he confirms that these commands are from the Lord. Even the apostle Peter confirmed that everything Paul taught, he had received from the Lord. Your argument then is with the Lord.

What reward are you expecting in heaven for subjugating women in church?

Not all Paul's teachings were directly from The Lord.

1 Cor 7:12
12 To the rest I say—I, not the Lord—if a brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is happy to live with him, he should not divorce her.

1 Cor 11:16
If anyone intends to quarrel about this, we have no other practice, nor do the churches of God.

But Paul is very clear that the things he commands in chapter 14 ARE the Lord's commands in verses 37 and 38, and that if anyone does not accept this fact, they are to be ignored.

Yea, people have come to believe that scripture is somehow contingent upon both time and culture. They have sold themselves to the idea that popular opinion is more relevant than the language of scripture. Culture has now become the metric for deciding what is true and the language of scripture is completely ignored.

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens
Ecc 3

Men & Women's equality in The Body of Christ is not popular opinion.
It's one of the things Jesus established.

Yes, men and women are equal in some respects as Paul describes in Gal 3. This does not say that they have equally assigned functions. Paul is equally clear on this point.

I've heard more than one male pastor use that type of humor

so funnnnny :(
Their error does not justify others to do the same. That type of low class speech does not honor God nor does it give evidence of being seasoned with grace.

Catholic is a word that means universal. Kind of humorous when you consider how exclusive Rome considers itself.

well of course not

but let's not play favorites and use it as a slap to all women in the process

men are the more likely sexual predators and just how many many male pastors have fallen to sexual sin? Seems to me they are just men and should never have taken up space on the platform. I've actually had one make a pass at me. sick sick sick

Probably most women could teach men on that subject and often ESPECIALLY in church with the roving eyes so many men seem to have while singing 'holy holy holy' :cautious:

Ezekiel..
3 And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.
4 For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD.
5 And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.
6 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

What is low class about a harmless joke that highlights a topical absurdity?
You are obsessing about the sex of pastors & Bible teachers.
You have no grounds to be so oversensitive.

It's what you WANT to talk about.

both descend to the grave Husband , wife etc...so it does not matter....same like the animals...
arguments are in vain....Gods wisdom is not of this world....and His love for those who belong to him is immeasurable ...they are those that Accept His Word...
psalm 49
16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
18 Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.
19 He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.
20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish

I'm not attempting to rationalize of justify the bad behavior of others. God has instructed us to make our speech seasoned with grace. God has established that in His church men are to have the roles of pastor teacher. When we set about to change those roles we are in rebellion to Gods word. The reactions of many simply illustrate how many are in rebellion to Gods word on both sides of the gender issue.

If you believe that the humor displayed reflects well on Christ I will just be minded to disagree with you.

No, I did not ommit it. Read my post. What you are doing is calling Paul a liar because he says the Law commanded the submission of the women and you are saying "no, it does not." Am I to accept your word over that of an apostle of the Lord?
Verse 34 does not identify a particular passage in the Law, and so far, you haven't either.

Until the passage in the Law is clearly identified and acknowledged as stating what verse 34 asserts, I will consider those two verses to come from a source other than Paul. He knew the Law very well, and would not have cited a non-existent command.

You are welcome to accept the non sequitur, but your argument carries no weight. Claiming that I'm calling Paul a liar is just empty manipulation, and I'm not falling for it.

Catholics don't consider themselves "just" a denomination, and many non-Catholic believers don't consider the Catholic entity to be Christian at all because of their many contra-biblical claims.

The message of the Catholic entity is not the same as that of most non-Catholic churches. I would encourage you to do some homework on the subject. :)

And they won't stop at that, now it's "rainbow" and "queer" theology that folliows. A few old men warned for this "development" in the early 60s, too few listened to them or took it seriously enough.
Unfortunately, some have pushed the alphabet agenda within the Church. However, it is unreasonable to assume that everyone who advocates for equality of gender regarding ministry roles would also advocate for gay rights. That is a fallacy of guilt by association, and holds no weight except for the unthinking.
