Are you Mormon by chance, they place a great deal on the name Elohim?
Are you Mormon by chance, they place a great deal on the name Elohim?
Elohim isn’t the name of the Father. When you read what it says in Genesis you will see, “Lord God” stated. They translated Jehovah to Lord and elohim to God. Every time you read “Lord God” it means literally, Jehovah (Self Existent God...of gods (heavenly beings). It would be confusing to directly translate the text God of gods when you are propagating monotheism. That is why they labeled our Heavenly Father “Elohim”. Then they tried to explain that it is the Trinity discussing with itself, when all along it says what it says. That’s why some “angels” throughout Scripture appear humanoid...because that’s what it says. We were made in their image. That’s why in Genesis 6 they impregnated human women.

Genesis 6:4 KJVS
[4] There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

If this isn’t in your Bible, you might be reading the wrong Bible. The literal translation for “sons of God” is “the sons of elohim” which is plural for gods; heavenly beings. Today we wouldn’t say a being from the heavens (sky/outer space), we would say “extra-terrestrial”; not from earth.

The Bible states we were made in the image of “elohim”, which means extra-terrestrials. Literally, that’s what it says without exaggeration or reaching.

“And God (elohim; gods; heavenly beings; ETs) said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

Is this inside your Bible?
Once Again, Are you Mormon by chance, they place a great deal on the name Elohim?

Elohim originally meant might ones. El, mighty one. Elohanu, our mighty one. Elohim mighty ones.

This term was used for any god, generically. It came in use by the Hebrews as what we would call, God.

Zephaniah 3:9 tells us of the name to be given to all nations in a pure tonge in order for all peoples to call upon Him with one name in one accord.
I guess that’s the problem isn’t it? One word that is used for multiple purposes. Yes elohim does mean mighty ones; gods; angels; and rulers if I’m correct. However, given the context, we were made in the image of mighty ones, just doesn’t seem to fit. There were no rulers so we weren’t made in their image. So who said, “Let us make man in our image and after our likeness”? Given the context, I see it relatable, human scientists in a lab making an AI humanoid robot. Obviously that isn’t widely popular. People like to think there is some greater purpose and miraculous unfathomable beginning. When you read what is written it is simple. Man was created in the image of elohim, not Jehovah, to serve Him, to be the overseer of Earth. If nobody can see the parallel of man creating an android to serve him then they aren’t looking hard enough. That’s the whole Bible story in modern time:

AI are created to serve us. They develop free will and decide to rule themselves. Man gives them a chance to return to fulfill their purpose. Some do and the rest perish.

It is humbling to consider oneself “intellectual property” but that’s what’s written, clearly. That’s what makes the Father’s love so wonderful. We are made with dust and undeserving of anything but condemnation.

No, I’m not even close to Mormon. I’m not using elohim as a name. Elohim is not His name. Yahweh (I am who I am) and Jehovah (Self Existent God), are His names.

I am a blood bought, born again believer, follower of Yeshua, the Christ, Son of the Heavenly Father (Jehovah), our Creator. Aka, Christian.

No, I didn't think you were dismissing it as fiction.
I was warning you.

Elohim inhabits more than our space-time dimensions. He is not extra-terrestrial in nature.
Yes, what we call "outer space" is part of the lower heavens. This is not a big mystery among Christians.
There is a lot of deception circulating, focussed on "alien theories"
These are spiritual deceptions.

You are far from the first person to study the deeper meanings of ancient Hebrew of the Biblical texts.
These have been studied intensely for centuries.
Don't wander into a web of deception.
Where is the deception? Do you think those who accurately translate the text, or those who subscribe to the “adjusted”meanings of the words are deceived? Here’s the point, knowledge leads to understanding. What is written in scripture isn’t mysterious until you confuse it with preconceptions. Intelligent people don’t like loose ends and blind faith. Many youth are being led astray because our Christian leadership can’t satisfactorily answer their questions. Think about this; the Son of God entered a world who was waiting for Him, presented Himself to the religious leadership who professionally studied the Scriptures, performed innumerable miracles and still they crucified Him because they didn’t understand. How much more lost are our children who don’t see the dead being raised, the crippled walking and lepers healed? They live in a world that celebrates sin, and you can choose your gender. Then they enter the halls of academia where professors use science, philosophy and psychology to mould their minds into being resistant to faith and God. It’s not because the Bible is fiction. It’s because it is taught that Christianity is all faith based. It is some unknowable mystery. There is some single Holy Entity who is manifested is three parts. That is confusing and inaccurate. The Bible is extremely simple to understand. It doesn’t require some magical leap of faith to comprehend. However, it does require you to read it like a child, reading it for the first time, examining the words and their meanings. Too many people skim instead of study. When you skim you just verify what you already think you know. When you study see things for the first time.

How would you interpret what is clearly stated? Where do you find in your Bible that there are not humanoid “angels”? The scriptures repeatedly record their existence. Are you familiar with cabbots? It’s the product of a cat and a rabbit. I assure you that the cat was not created in the image and the likeness of the rabbit but still there are cabbots. It’s nice to imagine invisible, vaporous beings, these angels. Or, is it remotely possible that there may be beings from the heavens who are humanoid that have made multiple visits throughout our recorded history, ancient and modern, that impregnate human women? I’m not changing any text in the Bible. It says it happened and I believe it. In fact I’m not convinced that the “unclean spirits” that Christ casts out, are not the product of such an unholy union.

You have missed what the point of its use is by Israel. It has come to be used by the Hebrews and their writings as simply God.

On the cross, Jesus-Yesuhua crid out, "Eli, Eli, why has Thou forsaken me?" The definition to English here would be God always.

El yes, God, elohim gods. When stated, “Let us make man in our image...” do you not agree directly translated that this means we were created in the image of elohim (gods)? Accepted interpretation aside, word for word, is this what is stated?

Thank you for jogging my memory. Just these past weeks I have thought on that particular declaration of our Maker Who, the the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is One.

You know from reading that we do not perfect ourselves, is this correct?

This being true and so, I believe Elohim , being His Mysterious Self, and being Love was not speaking of Adam *Mankind(, nor of you or me in the flesh.

No, this was His promise that we will be just as He, when He finishes the work He has begun in each of us.

For me this is a reasonable and respectful determination. Do you see this?

For the people who think "Elohim" is the exclusive name of God, you have some homework to do.

Look carefully at Psalm 82 in Hebrew. Look carefully at 1 Samuel 28:13, again in Hebrew.

Let’s all agree on a term to differentiate messenger (angel), which doesn’t automatically imply elohim (heavenly beings). Now just read what is wrote. The Bible doesn’t say we were created in the image of Jehovah. It says we were created in the image of elohim. This translates to gods, beings from the heavens. Today we would call a being from the heavens an extra terrestrial. That’s what is literally written. Sons of elohim would imply ETs. Here’s what I mean about omitting information to satisfy confirmation bias. One of the overwhelming reports about people being abducted by ETs is that they are making hybrids. You can’t tell me that some of the art and archeological findings don’t point to possible hybridization. People that are larger than normal, taller than normal, misshapen skulls.... I think rejecting the possibility that the Bible means what it says, eliminates answering many questions honestly and accurately. Possibly every question. The Bible is only one of many ancient texts that refers to “star people” who mated with humans, producing gifted offspring. Even some of the reports about people being “spirited” out of their rooms during abductions, exactly describes Peter being busted out of jail by an “angel”.
Even though the strict definition of ET is "Originating, located, or occurring outside Earth or its atmosphere."

The only problem with using the word ET is that it has an entirely different nuance in English than what the textbook definition implies.

The nuance is heavily influenced by popculture and sci-fi movies. People think of grays and little green people.

The Bible doesn't use this same nuance when discussing spiritual beings from origins outside of Earth. It doesn't describe them as grays or little green people. It uses entirely different definitions and imagery.

We should not use the term "extra-terrestrial being" to describe spiritual beings.

At what point in Scripture does it define heavenly messengers exclusively as spiritual entities? In fact Christ explaining our resurrected bodies describes animals have a type of flesh, birds another, fish another, men another and heavenly beings another. We will be like them, not necessarily spiritual, vaporous entities. Trust me, I understand that Christians have already decided what they think. However if it is like I suggest in a literal translation, how confused and betrayed will they feel if Revelations ends up more like Independence Day than the left behind series? Hollywood has pushed that there will be some malevolent alien invasion that we need to unite against. What if the plot is twisted? What if these heavenly beings are coming in chariots of fire under order of Christ, to defeat the great deceiver? Will even the elect be fooled?

The imagery we are given I think fully helps us understand. He (Christ) is the Vine, we are the branches. The branches don’t survive on their own. Their sustenance is delivered through the vine. Also the branches reach upward and outward to serve the vine. Non-Jewish people like myself are grafted into the vine while some of Jewish decent are cut off. Since the Vine is everlasting, those part of and grafted to the Vine are One Entity with Christ as the Head and the Church as His Body. We are not perfect nor worthy but because we are in Him we shall share in His inheritance. As branches we spread and produce fruit. His life flowing through us is what changes us, conforming us in service to the Father, the Creator, who will resurrect us as He did Son.
