Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

By grace we are saved. The Bible tells us this. It does not say that we are saved if we are good people or devoted to God in someway. God is not looking to save devoted and good people. God sent Jesus to the world to save sinners.

Romans 3:20
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

The purpose of the law is the show us our true image. Our own view of ourselves is by far not our true image. Through the law, we realize we are sinners before God. It is clearly written that by the deeds of the law no flesh shall be justified in sight. So God is telling us no matter how much we try, God will not justify us through our deeds, no matter how good they seem to us. Therefore, no one shall enter into heaven through their deeds no matter what, is what the Bible is telling us. So what then? Does that mean God just left us to be cursed? Does that mean we can only go to hell? Not so. This is the very reason why God sent us Jesus to save us of our sins so that we can be free from sin once and for all. The truth shall set us free.

Romans 3:21-22
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

God's righteousness = Without law
Faith in Jesus Christ = Righteousness
Unto us that believe, what is God giving us? Yes, that is right! His righteousness!

John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

We have been given power to become the children of God. How amazing are these Words? So now, after ALL that God has done for us, do we still say that we are sinners? "Oh God, please forgive me for my sins! I am a sinner." Then we sing hymns like, "Happy day, happy day, when Jesus washed my sins away." Then right after, "God please forgive me for my sins again!" What?? Satan deceives us by making us look at ourselves and making us look at our actions. Rather than believing in our own view and what we see in ourselves, we must put all that aside and focus in on with the Bible is telling us. Just as Jesus said on the cross," It is finished.", the perfect work of God cleansing us of our sins as white as snow by the death of Jesus on the cross is finished! So if Jesus said, "It is finished.", then it surely is! And if God tells me that I am sanctified, then I am sanctified. If God tells me that I am justified, then I am justified. If God tells me that I am righteous, then I am righteous! This is the gift of God to each and every one of us who believes in the Word of God, rather than our own thoughts.

Just as Jesus said on the cross," It is finished."
It is truly astounding to see how so many who call themselves Christians do not have a proper understanding of the atoning work of Christ, even though it is the very basis of our salvation. Thus we have multiple heresies about what the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished in His death burial and resurrection. Therefore Christians should look at the Scriptures which reveal the meaning of the Atonement.

CHRIST BY HIMSELF FULLY PAID FOR OUR SINS
[REFUTES THE INVOLVMENT OF MARY]
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high (Heb 1:3).

CHRIST'S FINISHED WORK IS A GREAT SALVATION
[REFUTES ALL FALSE RELIGIONS]
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him (Heb 2:3)

CHRIST TASTED DEATH FOR EVERY MAN
[REFUTES CALVINISTIC UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION]
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.(Heb 2:9)

CHRIST SUFFERED FOR OUR SINS
[REFUTES OPPOSITION TO PENAL SUBSTITUTION]
For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. (Heb 2:10)

CHRIST DESTROYED THE POWER OF DEATH AND THE DEVIL
[REFUTES LIBERALISM]
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil (Heb 2:14)

CHRISTIANS ARE MADE PARTAKERS OF CHRIST
[REFUTES MERE PROFESSION]
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end (Heb 3:14)

CHRISTIANS CAN NOW COME BOLDLY TO THE THRONE OF GRACE
[REFUTES A HUMAN CLERICAL PRIESTHOOD]
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Heb 4:16) Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. (Heb 10:19-22)

CHRIST IS THE AUTHOR OF ETERNAL SALVATION TO THOSE WHO OBEY HIM
[REFUTES UNIVERSALISM]
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him (Heb 5:9)

CHRIST IS THE ANCHOR OF OUR SOULS
[REFUTES LOSS OF SALVATION]
Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (Heb 6:19,20)

CHRIST IS THE SURETY OF A BETTER TESTAMENT
[REFUTES RETURNING TO TORAH OBSERVANCE]
By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death: But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. (Heb 7:22-24)

CHRIST SAVES US TO THE UTTERMOST
[ENSURES THE ETERNAL SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER]
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. (Heb 7:25)

CHRIST IS NOW SEATED AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE THRONE OF GOD
[ENSURES THE HEAVENLY MINISTRY OF CHRIST]
Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens (Heb 8:1) Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Heb 12:2)

THE BLOOD OF CHRIST CLEANSES OUR CONSCIENCE
[ENSURES SUPERNATURAL SALVATION]
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Heb 9:14)

CHRIST IS THE MEDIATOR OF THE NEW COVENANT
[REFUTES MARY AS MEDIATRIX]
And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. (Heb 9:15)

CHRIST WAS OFFERED AS A SACRIFICE ONLY ONCE AND THAT IS SUFFICIENT
[REFUTES THE CATHOLIC MASS]
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. (Heb 9:28) By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. (Heb 10:10-13)

Hello SangWooSuh, while I agree with you that all of our sins, past, present and future, were forgiven at the foot of the Cross (because there is no other atonement/satisfaction for our sins than our Savior's death/blood .. Romans 5:8-10; Hebrews 9:22, 10:4), and that we are justified/saved from the moment that we first believe .. e.g. John 5:24, the Lord is hardly finished with us at that point! Rather, He promises to continue His mighty work in us to sanctify us (to make us more and more Christlike), and to see us safely through this life to be with Him in Glory .. e.g. Philippians 1:6; 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24; Hebrews 7:25.

Remember too that the Lord, through the pen of the Apostle Paul, commands us to work alongside of Him as He works to sanctify us, to "work out"
(~not~ "work at" or "work up" or "work for") the salvation that we already possess, and that, "in fear and trembling". Paul said this to some the Philippians, right after telling them (and us) that they were among the most faithful of all of the beloved in the early church .. Philippians 2:12-13.

If you think about it, our relationship with our heavenly Father is similar in many ways to the relationships that we have with each other here on Earth. If we sin against someone, we ask for their forgiveness so that the closeness of the relationship that we had with them
(prior to sinning against them) can be restored .. and so it is with us and God too. Or, as Israel's King David put it in the Psalms, we ask the Lord to restore the "joy" of our salvation, not salvation itself, which is not lost .. Psalm 51:12.

There are also commands that tell us to be careful not to be conformed to this world/to renew our minds daily/to love others as God loves us/to choose to set aside the old self and its sinful desires and nature and choose to put on the new self with its new nature instead, and that on a moment by moment basis .. Romans 12:2; 1 Corinthians 13:1-8; Ephesians 4:22-24.

Surely if we were already sanctified, already as Christlike as the Lord Jesus is, these commandments would hardly be necessary for us, yes

Finally, there is the Apostle John's command to believers to seek forgiveness for our sins whenever we commit them. Take note that he includes not only Christians at all levels of maturity in the church, but he puts himself in the mix as well.

1 John 1
8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

1 John 2
1 My little children, I am writing these things ~to you~ so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;
2 and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.
3 By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.
4 The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;
5 but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him:
6 the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.
7 Beloved, I am not writing a new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning; the old commandment is the word which you have heard.
8 On the other hand, I am writing a new commandment to you, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true Light is already shining.
9 The one who says he is in the Light and yet hates his brother is in the darkness until now.
10 The one who loves his brother abides in the Light and there is no cause for stumbling in him.
11 But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
12 I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven you for His name’s sake.
13 I am writing to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I have written to you, children, because you know the Father.

14 I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

God bless you :giggle:

we need to rely completely on scripture and believe every word of it. That word tells us that the Lord does not look at our works when the decision is made for our salvation.

We are also to believe scripture that tells us that God can not forgive if we are people who will not forgive. Scripture also tells us that we will die if we keep on sinning.

Hebrews 10:26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

Just as it is an undisputable truth that we are only judged through faith, it is an undisputable truth that we will die from sin we do not repent of.

That is inconsistent with the truth that Jesus’ blood cleanses us from all sin.

Those who have rejected Christ are condemned already. Those who have accepted Him are cleansed from their sin. We don’t bounce back and forth between saved and condemned on the basis of having committed some sin.

If you doubt that scripture is consistent how are you able to find the truth in scripture?

Hebrews 10:26 Could be understood as meaning that any sin that is not deliberate sin (any sin we repent of) can be forgiven.

1 John 1:8 is referring to confessing our nature of sin. We were born sinners. The law shows us our true image before God. It is not telling us to confess every time we sin. There are 613 laws in the Bible. Also, are you able to remember all your sins? So what happens to the sins you don't even know that is sin or the ones you cannot recall? What if you have amnesia? If we are still left with sin after the sacrifice of Jesus, then what would be the meaning of his death? If we are to sin no more after receiving salvation, then who would go to heaven? The Bible tells us that Jesus obtained eternal redemption for us. Just as Abraham's faith was accounted to him for righteousness, our faith in the Word of God gives us righteousness, freely, by grace. We could never in million years become justified through our works.

Nyone who has not yet accepted Jesus-Yeshua is just that, awaiting the individual;s accepting Him or judgemnt, whichever comes first. We must not automatically call people condemned who yet are given time to repent by our Father.

Again, you don't understand what I wrote, and so you make up some convoluted misinterpretation and respond to that instead.

I'm familiar with his youtube channel and teachings?
I had a feeling! 😊There are few people out there who are post-trib, KJV-only, once-saved-always-saved, and believe that the Christians are God’s chosen people, rather than the Jews. Do you go to an NIFB church?

Hebrews 10:26 is talking about the same kinds of people that Hebrews 6:4-6 is speaking of. These are people who understand the gospel, and have had some kind of personal revelation from the Holy Ghost that the gospel is true. If they STILL reject it, knowing it is true, then they become reprobates (Romans 1 speaks more about that). This is the same thing that the Bible speaks about in Luke 12:10 (blasphemy if the Holy Ghost).
One CANNOT lose their salvation.
John 10:28 says ‘And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.’
By the same count, one CANNOT earn their salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9 says ‘For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.’
God’s gift of salvation is a free gift (Romans 6:23b), and one can neither earn it nor lose it. One can only accept it and thank God for His great love and sacrifice!
