The OT is a shadow. Everything about the tabernacle had a spiritual significance! Christ in the NT is the substance! He is known SPIRITUALLY. Not in the flesh!

We worship God in the Spirit! Not through images and idols!
you are quite simply portraying a fake gospel based on sight. you may talk about the Spirit of God, but your constant emphasis is on physical things. God does not agree with you as can be seen from Revelation

Revelation 11:19, ESV: "Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail."

Why is it that so many people struggle very hard to obey God, but cannot? Every morning they say, ‘Now, to-day, I will not lose my temper; to-day I will not tell lies; to-day I will not take a bribe’; yet after two or three hours, again they lose their tempers. Even though they pray and read their Bibles, yet they fail. Why is that? Because they fail to appropriate the Blood for cleansing to begin with, and then to lay hold of Christ as their life. They are trying to do the things of God with their own human energy. That is why they fail. Do you want to overcome in every temptation? Then come under the Blood by faith, every day, every morning. The Blood speaks of two things—cleansing and life. When you confess your sins, you are washed by the Blood from every defilement and the life of Christ in you will be manifested in your daily walk and actions. The Israelites had to come under the Blood to be able to obey what God commanded.
it's subtle, and it's in the middle of other things, but it's there.
'why are you unable to overcome every temptation and be sinless? because you aren't under the blood. you've got to really concentrate every morning and then you will be sinless and perfect. if your flesh isn't without sin, then you're not really saved, because you're not praying the magical 'under the blood' prayer hard enough and often enough -- you don't really have faith, or you would never stumble. **real** Christians are sinless under the blood, why aren't you?'
((my paraphrase))

obviously this isn't the theme of the book and the idea isn't on every page -- but it's the perspective the author comes from.
yep i see it. i even see the same manner being displayed by charish. I wasnt sure whether he realised and i dont think he does realise just how decieved and influenced he is and how much hes been corrupted.
This is why im against legalism because it leads to one behaving like a sinless perfectionist and really does corrupt the minds and hearts of people.
The enemy can do this.
What a shame is all i can say. He seems a nice lad at times and could be a really good brother in christ

It has been brought to our attention That charisharoon has been corrupted by reading a book that preaches sinless perfection in diguise. The book its self does not say it preaches sinless perfection, but if you read between the lines it makes a clear reference that it is.

The book was brought to our attention by our friend in christ postman hunter.
I also recieved a prayer last week from the holy spirit telling me he has been corrupted by sinless perfection. Its very important that we all pray for him.
Its aslo important that the only responce to now give him is to encourage him to pray
for what ever his next issue is, as all we will be doing if we dont is adding more fuel to his fire.
Once a person has been corrupted this way it is important we realise it is not his fault so please do encourage him to pray on every oppertunity.

You are not to cut off the hair at the sides of your head or mar the edge of your beard. Lev 19:27

Many of the Hellenised Jewish men might have had shorn hair. Jesus seems to have been Torah-observant though.
I don't think the modern Orthodox Jewish custom of wearing peyos (sidelocks) had been established among 1st century Jews.
So it is more likely that a Torah-observant Jewish man's hair was all long. We know he had a beard and he did not physically
stand out from his Jewish brethren.

I was going to laugh but a grisly bear came out of the woods
2 Kings 2:23-24( KJV) :

And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.

And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

um

was Jesus bald?

I thought he had white hair, as white as wool, as it says in Revelation. It doesnt say how long it is. But he presumably had some.
It said He had bronze skin and hair like wool, and in revelation it says His hair was white. Jesus is also quoted saying that long hair on men is a disgrace. So why would He himself have long hair? The author of the post is saying the white Jesus with long hair is not a true picture of him because it’s basically the opposite of scripture.

whoah whoah i'm not trying to make an enemy out of my brother @CharishHaroon

i just want them to know the Bible doesn't support calling all artistic imagery evil. God loves it; He decorates His own house with it.

the book wasn't all bad; i just noticed a slant in the author's voice. it provided a lot of good information and leads the reader all through scripture explaining things about the tabernacle & temple. but it doesn't answer my probing questions about why God Himself commanded the use of statuary, engraving and embroidery of images of things in heaven and on earth, if such imagery is categorically evil?

our friend is new to the forum. we're supposed to be gentle as doves even while we find fault in things each other say.

i think every single one of us who spend time in the Bible Discussion Forum ((BDF)) have felt the same way. and we've turned around and made others feel the same too.

we have to figure out a way to be zealous for the truth and be loving and kind and forgiving towards each other at the same time.
we all do. we're all awful at it.
we're family. we fuss and poke at each other but at the end of the day we sit down together and eat from the same table :coffee:

take a break and pray. i know. come back and be better than the things that hurt you
it's a world of hurt people hurting each other, and we're being redeemed from it

If the book provided a lot of good information, and explains things about the tabernacle and temple - why does de-emerald spread slander against me, and vilify not only me but the author of the book who is respected all over the world! One who established thousands of evangelical churches, strongly prayer-oriented, Bible-based and spiritual, in countries where there is strong persecution of Christians?

Should you not demand an apology from the slanderers and vilifiers on this site, esp those who quoted you as their source?

MY RESPONSE TO A FALSE NEWSFLASH

I am responding to this post which has vilified a great man of God. The lady in question should not have spread slander against him in this way. Here is my point-by-point rebuttal:

1. A book that preaches sinless perfection.
Reply: The book in question is 'God's Dwelling Place', one of the simplest clearest expositions on the Tabernacle. Nowhere does the writer preach sinless perfection.
2. The passage quoted by the LIQ (lady in question) does NOT preach sinless perfection. It simply talks about the power of the Blood of Jesus.
3. Postman Hunter's paraphrase is a gross misrepresentation of the passage on the power of the precious Blood. He has vilified a great man of God. He has to apologize on this forum and also confess this grave sin before God. Postman has also upset the LIQ with his false paraphrase. She being of an emotional (and not spiritual) temperament has been so agitated that she has slandered me, saying that I believe in sinless perfection. What a joke! I stand strongly on 1 John 1.9, 10. Every day I ask the Lord to show me where I have failed, and I confess before Him.
4. The LIQ say that she recieved a prayer last week from the holy spirit telling me he (charish) has been corrupted by sinless perfection. I beg to submit that she should stop receiving such prayers (or visions or dreams or whatever) and start reading the Bible, preferably on her knees. God will judge all of us by HIS INFALLIBLE WORD.
5. I forgive the LIQ fully for her unseemly behaviour. I notice that whenever I speak the truth and stand by it, the devil gets very upset and he targets me with arrows of slander and vilification.
6. Postman, I forgive you too. You have misjudged the man of God, BS, and you need to read that book again. If it does not open your eyes to the truth about the tabernacle, then I say 'God help you!'.
7. The LIQ, instead of showing the picture of God's Dwelling Place has shown a wrong picture of another book The Temple & The Tabernacle by JDH. I don't want her to apologize to JDH, bec he will just laugh over this silly 'storm in a teacup'.
8. I find the men here in CC incapable of guiding the women in matters of truth. Therefore the men are responsible. Otherwise God will take them to task for misleading these silly high-strung ladies.

MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
MAY YOU COME INTO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH.
(And P.S. Don't ever slander the dead (esp great men of God), because you will have to face the wrath of God (God who says, Touch not my anointed ones!)

You may hold whatever opinion you like about the author, but most of us have never heard of him. Everyone's words are subject to examination, and if someone taught error, then it right to call it what it is. That goes for the living and the dead.

People who are in error and called out as such are not being "vilified" or "slandered". Slander is FALSE information being spread about a person. Someone who teaches sinless perfection, and is accused of teaching sinless perfection, is NOT being slandered. As for vilification, they did it to themselves.

Postman, I find another high-strung lady, who, based on your false interpretation of God's Dwelling Place by BS, insists that:
"Someone who teaches sinless perfection, and is accused of teaching sinless perfection, is NOT being slandered." Frankly, I think you have just rushed thru the book GDP and passed a hasty and unwarranted judgment on it. There is no sinless perfection in the book! I hope you will retract your statement. Too many gullible and vulnerable women (2 Tim 3.6; I hesitate to use the KJV expression) are being misled by your hasty and unwarranted judgment.

I beseech you (a Pauline expression) to read the book again! The passage you quoted refers to the power of the Blood to cleanse and give life. It has nothing to do with sinless perfection!

P.S. The lady adds that she has never heard of the person! Most Americans don't know what's happening in the rest of the world. If she has never heard of BS, the least she could have done was to get to know about him, and read the little book titled God's Dwelling Place.

For all those blowing their top and having an apoplectic fit, here is the final conclusive report on the subject, by the reputed Dr Jack Hyles. He says:
1. God is concerned about our apparel, hairstyles, dress, etc.
2. The Bible plainly teaches that it is a shame, yes SHAME, for a man to have long hair.
3. The Bible says nothing about Jesus having long hair.
4. Jesus was not a Nazarite.
5. If Jesus had been a Nazarite, He still would not necessarily have had long hair.
6. Absalom was both rebellious and long-haired, and he got his just deserts!
7. Those who are rebellious and lawless are the ones who have promoted the 'long hair' culture!

His article is authoritative. And the opinions of quack doctors (of the Bible) on this site really don't count.

It is high time that those who truly know the Bible (I'm sure there are some very good people on this site) have healthy private conversations with those who get over-excited over Bible truths. Their minds need spring-cleaning. Yes, it is SHAMEFUL for a man to have long hair. And our Lord Jesus never ever had long hair! Period.

And blessings to you all!

i do not care whether someone is famous among men, tho i have heard of Mssr. Singh before and while i was reading his book i thought hmm maybe i have read this before a long time ago, in fact.

what do we make of this --

How many so-called Christians are falling into sin every day, without victory over temptation, and filled with lust, because those who have taught them thought they could do God's work with human wisdom. God's message to such is: ‘You are Christians only in name, but have no life’. That is the message of the golden candlestick.
does he imply here that a Christian who does not overcome every temptation is not a Christian at all? or someone who is not mature in their understanding, having been taught that by their own will and effort they can change their behavior and so become righteous - isn't he saying they are not Christians at all, just because their teachers misled them on this point?

clearly that's not the theme of his book, but it seems to me that wherever he makes a comment like this, he doesn't frame it in terms of being weak or strong in one's faith, but in terms of '
you are not really a Christian if your Bhakti isn't pure' - that is why i said, i find this idea that we can judge whether we belong to Him by whether we ever stumble, to be present there.

i find no man anywhere capable of leading others to the truth, but only our Great Shephard, through His Spirit, uses men and women alike as He sees fit. God is the one who opens hearts and minds to see and understand.

also pretty sure de-emerald is a man?

i do apologize for bringing up all these other things, and i do not know whether Mssr. Singh really teaches that *real Christians* never sin or stumble, or if he simply phrased some things in ways that could have been said better, and i took off and ran with them.
what i ought to have done is stick with my comment that i found nowhere in the book explanation for why God decorated His tabernacle & temple with images, nor did i find any support for calling all images evil. that was the only point i wanted to make when i wrote, and i said more than i should have.

all of us here in this conversation need to find a way to work out our offenses in love. we're not enemies, but children of one Father, because all of us here have put our trust in Christ. our enemy is the one who would have us angry with each other in our hearts. we will have disagreements on many things, on people, on ideas, even on doctrines and interpretations. but we should not disagree about love; it is by our love for one another that the world is to know we are Christians: this is what Jesus told us.

i think it's clear that Charish is from India or Pakistan or . . ? somewhere in this area -- and his culture is patriarchal, as Middle Eastern culture is too -- while we are here in America which is decidedly different in its thinking. whether one or the other is more right than the other, i don't want to get into arguments about right now.

i'm not offended by his comment about a man's place being head over a woman.
