something that is useless is worthless to your faith i did not add anything i think you have that one wrong.

we should not quarrel about the law because we are to obey the law. it does not get any more simple than that. galations 3 clearly says Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law. the book of law is the whole bible.

come on dude its you who have just taken away i havent miss understood at all
Okay... riddle me this:

Since you believe that we are to follow the whole law, when was the last time you stoned an adulterer? When was the last time you lived in a booth for a week? Did you visit the Temple three times last year like the law requires? Did you slaughter a lamb or a cow when you sinned?

No; we Christians are not under the Law; we are under a different covenant, with a different priesthood, and different promises. You cannot be under both. Read Hebrews 8 for further clarification.

Yes christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. i completely agree. makes me wonder what paul was actually refering to the galations. its doesnt say what works of the law they where relying on, but at a guess they where probably still doin animal sacrifice or something.

galation 3 clearly is saying if you have no faith you will be cursed. basically if you dont believe in Jesus you will be cursed.
There's no need to guess; Paul makes it clear that the Galatians were deceived into believing that one needed to add works of the law (specifically, circumcision) to faith in order to be complete. He also makes it clear that such a belief is utter hogwash.

utter hogwash eh never herd that expression befor lol.

Well yeah i thought it may be something like that circumcision or animal sacrifice.

if where going to call circuumcision a works of the law then surely we have to call obeying commandments from Jesus works of the law,, yes no ?

No. Jesus didn't command circumcision in the NT.

@Dino246 if your not going to answer my questions as i have answerd yours, then
where not going to have a discussion.

I asked whether obeying commandments from Jesus is a works of the law. to be specific to you, and to make it clear is obeying the commandments from the very words that Jesus spoke in the new testerment a works of the law that we as christians need to do. ?

I don't see where you asked that specific question. My answer is this: No, obeying Jesus is not "a works (sic) of the law that we as christians (sic) need to do".

Obedience to Jesus and the gospel is an expression of faith and love that we have by grace. If your spouse asks you to do something, do you do it as an obligation or as an expression of love?

no i dont see that. please rebuke me if you want.
Here is your contradiction:

galations 3 clearly says Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law. the book of law is the whole bible.
funny funny funny lol come on we both know those works of the law are no longer required,
First, you say everything in the Bible is law, and required of us. Then you say that "those" works are no longer required.

On what basis are any works "no longer required"? If some are required and some aren't, how are we to know which is which?

On a related note, how is it that, by "the Book of the Law", Paul referred to "the whole bible" when the whole Bible had not even been written yet?

Yes your answer is absolute classic. Ive herd this so many times. The reason why we obey Jesus is because we love Jesus. and this is an expression of our faith.

Ok this is absolutely correct lol but the end result is we are still obeying the law.

So you have really answered my question all youve done is dodge it.

oh yes i see what your saying now. a correction which i have allready corrected but never mind. yes your quite right but ive allready stated that some of the works of law are no longer required.

Galation 3
I only stated what galations quoted 10 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.

I said we must obey all of the law as written here i then said but not those that are no longer required to you befor you announced i was contradicting my self.

you seem to think that all works of the law are no longer a requirement based on galations 3.. when actually they are because galations 3 quite clearly states works of the law are still a requirement. but not some. can you see your contradiction..

Ill show you again galation 3.10 “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.

Paul was saying your practicing a works of the law (a single law)your no longer required to do
then paul told them they would be cursed if they didnt start obeying the rest of the law which was to longer do what your doing.

Which also means if you denounce your faith tomorrow and decide to start doing animal sacrifice tomorrow you will be cursed.

if you remain in faith for Jesus your not cursed and set free from the curse of the law. but absolutely no way does that mean you are to stop other works of the law..

I'm a gentile; I was never under the law and as a Christian I still am not under the law. I am accepted into the family of God on the basis of Christ's finished work, and I remain a child of God because of Christ's finished work. My relationship with God is not based on law... period.

Get a LIFE, even the life of Christ and He will live in you. What you are trying to be is God.
Praising the law on this site will only bring negative posts and put downs. Even David who wrote the 119th long psalm would be put down if David was here to make that psalm a post.

The posts most love to write is about ways of the Lord that could be considered ways to avoid obedience, like that the law will not save, and that God took back certain commands he had given the world like circumcision. Those truths are petted and savored until they obscure anything that praises the law. You are considered a downer if you love the law. In some cases negative posts get extreme and severe, posters declare a sort of war on you.

You are saved through faith and your view of the law has nothing to do with that salvation. However, you deny any guidance that God gives you through the law by misusing the truth that you are not under the law. By refusing God's guidance you give up your salvation, also for Hebrews 10:26-27 reads, "For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries."

Ephesians 2: 15-16.
In Ephesians it was explained that before gentiles were not circumcised, only Jews and circumcision was considered a law. Christ did away with that division among people, that "law" was abolished, but Christ did not do away with the spirit of the law. That law is expressed inadequately in the ten commandments written in stone, but it was perfected when that law was written in our hearts. It is from the Lord, and the Lord did not write it on our hearts and then destroy what God wrote there.

Works of the law we as christians are instructed to do

FORGIVE EVERYBODY OF ALL THEIR OFFENSES AGAINST YOU."
(Forgive, and be forgiven.)
ABIDE IN ME, AND LET ME ABIDE IN YOU."

LET PEOPLE SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS." (Do not hide your light under a basket.)

END DISPUTES QUICKLY."

WHATEVER CAUSES YOU TO SIN, GET RID OF IT."

DO NOT SWEAR OATHS AT ALL."

DO NOT RETURN OFFENSE FOR OFFENSE." (Turn the other cheek.)

GIVE WHAT PEOPLE ASK OF YOU, AND GIVE MORE THAN IS REQUIRED. (Go the extra mile.)

LOVE YOUR ENEMIES AND THOSE WHO WORK AGAINST YOU."

GIVE TO THE POOR TO PLEASE GOD, NOT TO GAIN APPROVAL FROM OTHER PEOPLE."

PRAY PRIVATELY AND SIMPLY, NOT TO IMPRESS OTHER PEOPLE."

MAKE YOUR PRAYERS BE LIKE THE LORD'S PRAYER."

WHEN YOU FAST, DO IT SECRETLY, NOT FOR SHOW."

STORE UP YOUR TREASURES IN HEAVEN, NOT ON EARTH."

DO NOT WORRY ABOUT YOUR MATERIAL NEEDS."

DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THE FUTURE."

MAKE GOD YOUR HIGHEST PRIORITY, AND HE WILL TAKE CARE OF ALL YOUR NEEDS."

DO NOT JUDGE OTHER PEOPLE." (Judge not, lest ye be judged.)

DO NOT GIVE HOLY THINGS TO DOGS OR CAST YOUR PEARLS BEFORE SWINE."

ASK GOD FOR WHATEVER YOU WANT TO HAVE." (Seek, and ye shall find.)

FEED THE HUNGRY, CLOTHE THE NAKED, SHELTER THE HOMELESS,

COMFORT THOSE IN DISTRESS."

FOLLOW THE NARROW PATH TO LIFE." (Enter by the narrow gate.)

BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS."

EXERCISE POWER OVER UNCLEAN SPIRITS."

LOVE LITTLE CHILDREN, DO NOT DESPISE THEM."

DO NOT TAKE THE TITLES 'MASTER' OR 'FATHER' FOR YOURSELF."

RESOLVE DISPUTES IN AN ORDERLY WAY, LIKE THIS . . . "

DO NOT OPPOSE OTHER BELIEVERS IN CHRIST WHO ARE NOT IN YOUR GROUP."

HAVE TOTAL FAITH IN GOD FOR EVERYTHING."

BE LIKE THE GOOD SAMARITAN." (Go, and do likewise.)

LOVE OTHER PEOPLE AS I HAVE LOVED YOU"

EAT BREAD AND DRINK WINE IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME."

WASH ONE ANOTHER'S FEET."

BE MERCIFUL."

KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS."

BE PREPARED FOR YOUR MASTER TO RETURN."
