Hi my name is Susan and I'm sure most of you know what my screen name is alluding to :) I'm a lot better and a lot worse than the one in the books. I'll probably open a thread on the family forum but I'm a bit shy so maybe I'll wait a while and read what's here first.

Welcome to CC, Susan!
Grab a cuppa before stepping into the wardrobe. Just don't look behind it... we gave the cleaner the year off due to Covid. ;)

I think everyone is looking for Aslan's land in one way or another whether the know it or not. I know it's not on this earth, not entirely, but maybe there are pieces of it her and there.

Welcome to CC, sister Susan. It was a shame about how Lewis' Susan thought she had outgrown the simplicity of the Gospel. We must help each other withstand the temptation to become proud, haughty, and self indulgent. I know and understand how God has placed many things in my life to keep me humble. Even Paul needed a thorn in the flesh.

So glad you came. We have a few uglies hiding behind the trees here in CC Land also, but don't let them discourage you. Bless you dear, and Godspeed!:):coffee:

I like to think of it as Heavenly Zion. I agree with Susan about how God gives us little glimpses of it now and then in the here and now.

"We are marching onward to Zion, that Heavenly city of God."

Hebrews
11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
11:9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as [in] a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker [is] God.

I believe that the thorn in the flesh of Paul allowed his humanity to be displayed in a way that the common person could relate to. Turns out, even though Paul prayed 3 times for this to be removed it was found that God's grace was sufficient for him. I found that to be comforting.
