Threads in the family forum usually involve such dilemmas as...My wife is a slob. How do I tell her that cleanliness is next to Godliness?
Or...my husband just cheated on me, several times Must I still have faith or can I remarry again too?

In contrast, Single threads are commonly along these lines.

I dream of getting married, where do I find the ONE
Im bitter about eveyone else marrying except for me. FOMI (fear of missing out)

which one are you.....?
Or are you in this category ...what, no threads about bacon?

I believe that I have seen a thread(s) about bacon. As far as finding the ONE is concerned, you won't find the ONE if you don't take the time or initiative to at least look. FOMI can take many forms besides marriage. Never heard of that term but will use acronym in the future.

Correction: FOMO.

No place here for the placid observers who take life as it comes?

I mean no, we don't start a lot of threads, but we comment in a lot of them. Surely that has earned us at least a mention in the ranks.

I read in the Bible the advice Paul gave...if single Do NOT look for a wife. IF you are married do not seek to be free. Those who marry will have many troubles. And I want to spare you

see 1 Corinthians 7:27

and yet..soooo many threads are about believers either looking for a wife, (or husband) or married people who are tired of being married lol.

I just want to know where that bacon thread went.
I may have important things to say about it.

Not the least that, God didnt want the Israelites to even touch bacon. They had their qualms about it...it really divided believers into bacon eaters and non bacon eaters, and the early church really suffered from this divide.

well, that was a HUGE response lol. Nobody wants to admit anything.

I think maybe I'm definitely more of a cynic than an incurable romantic.
When someone gets with someone Im probably more like 'it wont last' or 'theres trouble'....than 'Im soooo happy for you'

But probably I wont even notice, I'll be like 'are you going out for bacon'

I didn't reply because I dont fit in any of the categories . Im not desperate, Im not bitter and I prefer sausage over bacon.

I'm very happy when one of my friends finds the person they can serve God happily with. I prayed long ago for grace to accept Gods plan for my life. So far..it hasn't included a husband and I'm ok with that. Doesn't mean I won't be thrilled if it does happen for me as well... ya just never know. Im content where I am at the moment. :)

I don't think i care one way or the other, if i want romance and to get married i can just open up to it and have it. I'm not really much for being a hater or a cynic or having fears of missing out on marriage.

I'm also not much for eating thin bacon strips either just give me a pork chop or some ribs and i'm good lol.

haha

I dont like bacon THAT much, but if I do have it I prefer crispy and it has to be salty or honeyed/smoked.
The ones offered in the supermarket wrapped in plastic arent that nice, always too watery and full of nitrates. You have to find a good butcher that offers proper cured bacon. Then its delicious, and you cant go back to eating any other kind.

hmm those who seem desperate or bitter need wise counsel dont you think. Like blessed assurance. Those who are looking for spouses need to seek God and his righteousness first, then everything will be added to them. I guess they are here because they dont really know what to do with their lives yet. We should pray for them, that they find answers and connection with God.

I know if people arent happy for whatever reason, something is missing its usually something to do with their relationship with God, not any other reason. Your best friend could cheat on you, you could run out of wine on the wedding of the year, whatever. Often its not anything to do with you, though people can take it so personally. Jesus went through all that STUFF. Those things arent the be all and end all of life though.

As a formally married person now happily single and not looking, I really enjoyed that Bible scripture in Corinthians Paul wrote! Spot on. Now Jesus Christ and God have my undying devotion. They are my true love in life. 🕊

the holy spirit is the comforter.
I picture God as like a warm blanket who wraps around you when you are feeling the chill.

Maybe people just havent experienced the blanket! They either never had one or they thought they had to always share it with someone else, and the other person snatched it away from them.

Well news for you, we each are allocated our own individual blankets, and nobody can ever take this blanket away from you.
