Today, I had a long discussion with a Christadelphian, Christian Scientist, Latter Day Saint Missionaries and a family of JW's.
The Christadelphian and JW;s went into the Library and checked out some books on the deity of Christ.
The LDS went in to get some books critical to their church.
The Christian Scientist went back in to get some modern translations of the Bible.

Keep them in your prayers.

Much to my surprise,...I was scolded. In a nutshell, I was told that because these two family members are non-Christian, I should not have missed church. The members of my church family are my "real" family and not my non-believing relatives.
So after much discussion with some of my close Christian friends, I have decided to leave this congregation behind.
It's seems very clear to me that this was the right thing to do.

Not only would I leave that church I would shake the dust off my shoes too. You know who your real family is and don't need a pastor to decide that for you. I wouldn't appreciate a pastor checking up on me as to why I missed church either. You did the right thing to accompany the family member to the graveyard.

If I do make the decision to go back to church it won't be any of the charismatic churches because they're just way too much fully going on

After 13 years away, I just checked out a Pentecostal church. Not a good fit. I might try the local Nazarene church on Sunday.

Welcome, Free Methodists sound like a better fit. They have an emplise on Holiness without the legalism of the Nazarene church.

They had a pastor who leads a parachurch ministry that has a retreat based on the teachings of Dr. Bruce Thompson and Derek Prince.
I'm hoping this fellowship will reflect these teachings...we'll see. If you think of it, could you pray for me this Sunday morning?
Free Methodist, is that like Free Missionary? I think the ministry's founder belongs to that church. Thanks.
