Hello from Finland.
I am born Evangelical Lutheran, but as many other Finns, most belong to church (the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland - which is a state religion) but never really practice their faith or go to church, my family was also as such. We went to church for christenings, weddings or funerals and things considering religion/faith was rarely spoken at home. In Finland we have a religion classes at school and we went to church on special occasions like for christmas, so thats how I got my religious education. At age 15 I was confirmed as it is custom in Finland, but soon after started to look elsewhere for answers to my questions and found my way to eastern ideologies. Was practicing buddhist for some years, moved to different country because of it, so did it quite seriously but then several things happened, some that I still dont understand to this day and I drifted away. Moved back to Finland and started to search for my roots again.
After this, in sequence of several years, I lost my both parents and found myself having more and more questions. Started searching and trying to find answers from christianity by studying, learning, finding.. feeling relief occasionally and maybe slowly thinking that I am coming home. Also seeing that maybe the things that have happened in my life, have been there for a reason, so that at this day I can be the person I am, and still ever changing, evolving as my understanding and thirst for more grows (hopefully). So I am on a mission of finding and searching and also happy to find this forum so I can speak with likeminded people, to openly talk about christianity and ask questions.
