Same. I don't get on there too much but occasionally people message me on there as their primary communication method so I'm stuck with it "sort of".

apparently it's a global outage

Reuters

Oct 4 (Reuters) - Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp went offline for users across the globe, the social media giant said on Monday, as it worked on restoring the services after being hit by one of its longest outages.

The disruption, which hit Facebook's platforms minutes before noon, comes a day after a whistleblower accused the firm of repeatedly prioritizing profit over clamping down on hate speech and misinformation.

It would seem whistle blowers calls more problems than they solve.
Thanks for shutting down worldwide communication

I hope you can with CC friends though=). Thats why some people say to keep friends' numbers in a real phone book, emails, addresses too. We dont know when we'll need those. Personally, i copy/transfer these numbers to a new planner/ directory almost every year to update too.

Really you're buying that story? FB being down has cost Zuckerberg $6 billion. Everyone who uses Facebook will be looking to set up on other sites as well to protect their business. That would take "cutting off your nose to spite your face" to a whole new level.

It seems much more likely that this was cyber war. They just snatched up everyone's data on FB.
