You say that 'Flesh begets flesh only'. Apparantly you don't understand the nature of Jesus, he was both God and Man and, try as you like, that nature is inseparable. And you are wrong again when you say that Christ was the seed of David. According to Scripture, Christ was the seed of the Holy Spirit in Mary. For a senior member you don't seem to know too much.
Rev 22:16 Hope this helps arthurfleminger It's ok to be wrong.Work on being right.

WOW - Excendrica is his sister. She takes things to the extreme at times. When her brother lost his marbles at the toy store she dialed 911 to report an abduction. When the Police showed up she had already painted the body outlines all over the store floor.
Undeterred by their lack of cooperation, she enlisted parents and children who were in the store to form a search party.
Which ended up at Stone Cold Ice Cream for further gathering of evidence and discussion.
She now is the Head of the Coalition for Biden's Lost Marbles and we are praying for her return.

as you can see, I'm having lunch but thought I would take the time out to tell you that you might need a vacation

Did you know Jesus said to call no one on earth your father. It stands to reason then that maybe he would not call his earthly mother mother
Nor did He ;) That is to say, there is no record in Scripture of Jesus ever having addressed Mary as "mother" except at the cross when He was turning her over to the care of John, which was indicating she was now John's mother, and John her son. From this Catholics extrapolate that she is somehow now the mother of us all. They also call her the second Eve (along the lines of Jesus being the second Adam) and the queen of heaven, and say all manner of things of her which are nowhere found in Scripture, neither by hint or implication.

We have One Father and the One Mother who is Heavenly Jerusalem - the Mother of us all.

"but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all" Galations 4:26

According to scripture, they will try to deceive the very elect. This is why there's so many are falling away as we speak. They are in place to draw christians away from true prophets because God said He would do nothing without telling/showing His servants the prophets.
When you say true prophet are you talking about someone who says: "God told me"; or, "thus sayeth the Lord?"

Catholic doctrine never persuaded me Acts 2 isn't for me. All the fake and phony signs and wonders is what persuaded me. Hellish indeed.
That is like someone saying: because there are false christs you refuse to believe in Christ.

I don't think that sharing frustrations is a mark of 'true Christians
Then you're not a real person, for everybody share frustrations in life, saved or not. I live in a fleshly body, therefore I get frustrated.
who are the real prophets according to you? God has already spoken and if we deviate from what has been plainly revealed, we will give our ears to extra biblical sources who tickle those ears. that would include bestowing the name 'prophet' on people we happen to agree with
extra -Biblical - Pertaining to information or content outside the Bible.
Acts 11:27
Now in these days prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. 28And one of them named Agabus stood up and foretold by the Spirit that there would be a great famine over all the world (this took place in the days of Claudius). 29So the disciples determined, every one according to his ability, to send relief to the brothersd living in Judea. 30And they did so, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
How was Agabus known as a prophet BEFORE this scripture was written? By his other prophecies that weren't in the Bible. Most of Agabus's prophecies were "extra-biblical" because they weren't written in the Bible. Does that make all the others false, & this one true?Of course not. That would be foolish. True prophecy is backed by scripture.
People want more and that is easily demonstrated by the packed to capacity churches that give more....whether for right or wrong or good or bad
Yes they do. Yet many good churches are suffering loss of income, loss of members, & less services/ministries while the worldly flourish.
it is not all bad and we should not be made sick by what we disagree with, but rather saddened as they are also of the body of Christ
Bethel is part of the body of Christ? Bill Johnson, who teaches grave sucking, claims gold dust fell in his "church", teaches the prosperity gospel, member of the NAR, is a christian? And you thought I was judging harshly?
anyway, I seem to take exception to broad brush painting for some reason
My so-called broad brush painting is believing God's word & whoever rebels from His word is a rebel. No spiritual rebel has a place in the Kingdom of God.
Now saying some rebelling sinners go to Heaven & others to Hell would be real broad brush painting, don't you think? Selah.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!! You really don't believe that Jesus called Mary his mother. She was His mother, simple as that. And Jesus remained obedient to both Joseph and Mary, honor thy father and mother. It was a normal Mother/Son relationship: Luke 2:51 51Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart.

Neither. If a person prophesies & it doesn't come to pass he/ she is false. If it does, he/she is true.

Even then some false prophets copy the real ones & repeat what they say.

the only thing that would make them a non christian would be if they trusted in a false gospel for salvation.

acts 2 is for everyone, But we must interpret it correctly.
Praying to Mary, as i have personally done and witnessed to my mothers demise, is a false gospel.

“The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings.

Jeremiah 17:9-10

I am careful when I talk about the Catholic Church. There is the catholic church (the church, universal) and there is the Catholic Church (the church from Rome).

I am always sure to include 'Roman" when talking about the Roman Catholic Church. When speaking, people can't hear capital letters. :)

All believers are part of the catholic church; the body of Christ in heaven and on earth, but only some are members of the Roman Catholic Church, the church from Rome.

Peace,

I agree. But today's church doesnt know that "catholic" means universal, or that true christians are part of that "universal" church.
Since Roman Catholicism muddied the name "catholic", I no longer use the term, for it's now confusing.

PEACE

Personally, as a former disciple of the RCC, i would never use the word universal to describe the Body of Christ.

That word never is used in Scripture, from where i have researched, but this word is; 'ONE'.

'ONE' shows up in many places referring to Christ and the Father and the Holy Spirit as well as to those who are washed in His Blood and are "called out".
In Israel, before our LORD, there was only to be ONE Temple, in Jerusalem, for all nations to seek after God - on earth.

Today, there is only ONE Temple of God which is His Body, His Elect, His Saints, His Living Stones, His Called Out Ones.

It is important to also note that there is NO universal church on earth where we can find God.
Baptist, Pentecostal, Lutheran, Methodist, Calvary Chapel, Non Denominational, Roman Catholic, etc.

Not one of these labels will our LORD accept = No entrance permitted into God's Presence.
God searches the hearts - HE knows those who are HIS.

God continues to 'call us out' from things that are not of Him.

"And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities." Revelation 18

These things i say as a former RCC disciple and now as a one who has been washed in His Blood and filled with His Holy Spirit,
not according to the will of the flesh(religion) but by the Will of Him who called us out of darkness and translated us into the Kingdom of the Love of His Son - Amen.

So you believe true prophets operate today. If they prophesy, and it comes to pass, aren't they essentially saying "thus sayeth the Lord?"

The phrase "thus saith the Lord" doesn't have any particular value to me because many use it for tradition's sake.
When a true prophet speaks, it's as if God Himself is speaking to His church. You must understand if God speaks through His servant, then His Spirit will convict(convince) the people of its worth & truth.

Not only are we not on the same page, we're not even in the same book.

I don't believe God speaks extra-Biblically. So in my view, all so-called prophets who claim to have a message directly from God, whether they come to pass or not, are false. We don't need prophets to give us messages form God, we have the scriptures; that's His message to us.

You said a few posts back (#50) that false prophets ruin the testimony of true prophets; I'm saying all prophets—in the sense you seem to mean prophet—are false.

It was used before the advent of the Roman Church to describe the church as a whole. It is a term I use when speaking from the perspective of God.

I am quite comfortable using it, but if it throws you off I understand. When I am speaking with Roman Catholics, however, I never use the word "catholic" I always refer to their church as the "Roman Church".

Such things I've said ("Roman Church", "catholic", etc.) have led to friendships. For those who have an ear to hear... they become curious and ask questions. After much discussion, and I share with them what God shows me about them, they realize that the Lord knows them and that our meeting is not by chance.
