Well, yeah, a splash of rum wouldn't hurt it a bit. Of course, I have abstained from alcohol since 1992 so I will be drinking just straight eggnog. I will add a dash of nutmeg though.

I am sure wherever you are on earth, everyday there will be something to celebrate. If there is no Lanolin day, I would be disappointed.

Of course, that's what's missing! We need a Christmas tradition involving alcoholic beverages!

I mean sure, some people drink a lot more during the holidays anyway... And some people add alcohol to eggnog... But we still don't have any tradition specifically involving alcoholic beverages.

The smell of it would make me gag every time I got near somebody participating in such a tradition, but it sure would get a lot more people into the holiday spirit. Or spirits.

Here, in Ohio, the grey cloud blanket rolls over the entire state about mid-October and doesn't recede until sometime in March. One year, my wife said "You know, we need a celebration in February, where the main color is green like the grass in Spring and we give each other colorful presents in anticipation of the end of winter."

I said, "Honey... you just re-invented Easter."

I actually love Halloween, but I don't celebrate it by dressing up like a harlot- My understanding of Halloween is much more like Dia De los Muertos- it's much more reverent. You don't have to hate "secular" holidays if you aren't using them for sin. Halloween makes a mockery of fear- it's good if you use it in a good way.
I don't celebrate Christmas because of how Americans have corrupted it, but I don't hate Christmas or think it's evil- it's the secular knuckleheads killing each other in the store or dressing up like a skanky santa's helper* that are the problem.

*in public- what you do at home is your business.

I don't understand the obsession with all things Starbucks either. They are basically a milkshake place, they just call it something else. My daughters are addicted almost though.

640 is often large enough (that would be height or width, whichever is longer),
