You can attack my understanding all you want friend, but you must see the very Word of God to refute what I said in context to the Word of God. Nothing you have said proves my understanding contextually is in error.

Please provide from the word of God your position, not human reasoning or bias opinion.

I need to see Bible.

thank you,
I did already. You fail to show me that baptism with the Holy Spirit and as sign for that the gift of speaking in tongues was taught to believers.
Many people spread doctrines in putting bible verses together so that they fit their view.

Spiritually ignorant people ask for "proof" as they falsely claim to be Spirit filled yet adamantly refuse to seek Holy Spirit guidance who was given to guide us " in ALL truth".

Some of the meanest, coldest and proudest Christians I've met have been dyed in the wool Pentecostals. Followed closely by arch conservatives who believe that God has effectively given up on anything miraculous or spiritual. The Bible is not God. Lord Jesus is the Living Word. And anyone who thinks that the Body of Christ is perfect is deluded.

Spiritual gifts are still as necessary today as ever, maybe more so. For sure the Western church is a mere shadow of the church that shook the world in the early days.
Every man must bear his own burden, the cessations doctrine can't save anymore or less than a pentecostal one. Faith in Christ Jesus does, pointing fingers at any of them is useless and in vain. as well, you also obviously missed the point of my post. just as much as I have no clue why you decided to even comment to my post and condemn other believers in Christ Jesus to make your own point of what? charity? I think not...

I certainly am not saying you are not a Christian

however, you do not have to be a Christian in order to separate truth from lies

people do that all the time.
Well, in case of the bible, you need that the Holy Spirit open your eyes for Gods truth.
Without the Holy Spirit it is not possible.

the first manmade doctrine that comes to mind, because of this thread, is the one where people say that which is perfect is the Bible so no more tongues

they forget that also includes prophecies (although many still to be fulfilled) and knowledge....some do behave as though they have no knowledge but most would agree that knowledge is still around
Well, I never met people which teaches, that speaking in tongues is given as 1.Cor. 12-14 says.
But people who teach that speaking in tongues is combined with the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
I believe that every bornagain believer is baptised with the Holy Spirit and he got a spirituell gift, as 1. Cor. and Romans 12 teaches according the will of the Holy Spirit.
In different to the church of Corinth, we have the complete scripture and we dont need that the Holy Spirit reveals us his will through a prophecie in the church. ( This means not that God is not speaking today through his word and the Holy Spirit uses this word in the situation of an believer)
We also dont need sign and miracles in the church to believe the power of God. But in spreading the gospel to gentiles (mission) God works today still and is doing miracles and wonders.
But I cant find that speaking in tongues is the sign that someone is baptised with the Holy Spirit taught anywhere in the bible to other believers.
And you are right there are many man made doctrines in the church today.

yes

but I have learned that we do not grasp all the truth all the time and often never immediately

there is this thing called 'growth' but we have to be willing otherwise we stay in the highchair ;)

again I showed you in first Corinthians chapter 12 through 14 and provided the context Biblically of "initial evidence " . it is not my fault you are incapable of seeing it. You have yet to use One Bible verse to prove your statement it is a false narrative. There are many things in the word of God that are applying today in the life of a Christian that was not mentioned or were named or said specifically in the word of GOD. BUt they are praise-worthy, godly instruction, or godly nonetheless or identity and action that is sinful.

examples of things taught et is not said in the bible :

  • The Trinity
  • gay marriage
  • Pornography
  • Gangs
  • human trafficking
  • the initial evidence of Spirit Baptism
  • the term TUILP
and many more.

You disagree with 1cor chapter 12 to 14 yet you have not provided anything at all to explain your position on these chapters. I think you are incapable of doing so.

sound like a personal issue. Al you have said is opinionated and we have also said those who are saved have the Holy Spirit IN them that is not the same as Coming upon them. Jesus said the Holy Spirit will be with you, In you, and come upon you.

read John chapter 14-16
  • In you
  • upon you
  • and with you.

you don't know what those doctrines are nor what they teach it is clear of that. And that was shown to you and those of this thread and many past others :). You don't know church history :). that is just the facts and you have an opinion that was not backed up in the word of God :) that too was shown:).

There are two types of baptisms that involve the direct work of the Holy Spirit: the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the baptism by the Holy Spirit.

The baptism by the Holy Spirit places us within the Body of Christ according to where God foreknew us.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a baptism of power to carry out our function in the Body of Christ.

”by” is an identity shift resulting in transference from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of the Son. It permits us to rightfully function within the kingdom as a representative of the Living God.

”of” is a shift of economy whereby we learn to live by the power of God and not by the futility of earthly means. All spiritual gifts function through the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

These are Cliff’s Notes only. :)

So John 14,26 is for you? Have you walked and lived with Jesus, so that the Holy Spirit will remind you what Jesus had said?

No i am not God. He is the One who reveals the truth.

Look, would I found this teaching taught in the bible I would believe it.
So I also not trusting what people say because of their expieriences in this matter.
For that I made to much bad expieriences.
