WHAT is TRUTH?
#81
LOL no,

LOL, The words of John are recorded and known as the word of God because John is an eyewitness of the Lord Jesus Christ. FYI the Gospel of John as all the new testament is called Scriptures which means they are the inspired word of God. I am very much focused.

the 17th chapter of John? the Prayer of the Lord Jesus? is a great text showing what is known as the doctrine of Kenosis.

Jesu prayed for:

Himself
The Disciples
and for all believers

This chapter is also confirmation of Jesus as OUR High Preist and Mediator. The God MAN who has always been as the First Chapter of John tell us in line with Genesis chapter 1. lease sends 19.95 to "CS1 proper exegesis" P.O. Box Context St. John Chp #1.

you might as well because you have nothing to offer from thw word of God to refute my biblical understanding just insults and games :) which is ok with me because it proves what I have said is the truth from the word of God that John wrote as the Holy Spirit helped him do so.

John 14:6- Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.
7- If you had known me, you would have known my Father also; henceforth you know him and have seen him.”

Thus the Word was God / Devine / a son!

Job 38:6-7 . . On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone,
when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for
joy?

It's very easy to show that God has lots of sons; too many to even guess.
Some are foster sons and some are adopted sons, but only one is a begotten
son, viz: a son born to God, i.e. His progeny. (e.g. John 1:14, John 1:18,
John 3:16, John 3:18, and 1John 4:9)

BTW: I'd really like to know the identity, and the status, of that morning stars
chorale. Luke 2:13-14?

John 14:9- Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
10- Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in me does his works.
11- Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me; or else believe me for the sake of the works themselves.

God dwells in those that has accepted Jesus as Christ- and listens to his words!

the opening remark to this thread is

"
Most people believe him God. Many people that he was sent by God, his life beginning when he was born.
A few that he was in Heaven before being made human.

Why don't we listen to HIS words before our pre-conceived ideas?"

this presupposition is nothing more than opinionated. it is not that one is not listening to the word of Jesus, but rather many do not accept the unbiblical explanation for who Christ is by the thread poster.

he says " Listen to HIS words" unless I disagree with them LOL.

The Gospel of John is from and I witness and testimony of the Deity of Christ and the eternal existence of HIM in the eternal Godhead.
John 1:1
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

:14

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Jesus is the "word" that John is speaking about. To deny that Jesus is God is a spirit of antichrist.

1 John 4:1-6
Beloved, do not trust every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they belong to God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can know the Spirit of God: every spirit that acknowledges Jesus Christ come in the flesh belongs to God, and every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus* does not belong to God. This is the spirit of the antichrist that, as you heard, is to come, but in fact is already in the world. You belong to God, children, and you have conquered them, for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They belong to the world; accordingly, their teaching belongs to the world, and the world listens to them. We belong to God, and anyone who knows God listens to us, while anyone who does not belong to God refuses to hear us. This is how we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of deceit.

Love John 14:6

in Greek it reads like this I am not another way but I am the ONLY way the Only Truth and only Life. Jesus is saying I am telling you the truth! No one goes to see MY Father if they do not go through me. You want to See God My Father? I am the only way to do that.

Exegesis For the Translation of “The Holy Spirit”

In the New Testament, the Greek noun pneuma, which is translated “spirit,” is in the neuter gender.
Likewise, the Greek noun phrases that are translated “the Spirit,” “the Holy Spirit,” and “the Holy Ghost” are always and only in the neuter gender.
No masculine gender noun is used anywhere in the New Testament to designate the Holy Spirit, but only the Father and the Son.
The use of the neuter gender in every scripture reveals that the Holy Spirit is not a person but the power that emanates from both the Father and the Son.

The Greek noun pneuma, in all its various forms, is always and only neuter in gender.
Likewise, all pronouns that refer to pneuma are always and only neuter in gender.
If the Holy Spirit were a person, the nouns and pronouns in the Greek text would have to be written in the masculine gender,
as are all the nouns and pronouns that refer to God the Father and Jesus Christ.
However, nowhere in the Greek text of the New Testament is the Holy Spirit ever designated by a noun or pronoun in the masculine gender.

It is absolutely incorrect to translate any form or pronoun of pneuma in the masculine gender.
Unfortunately, because most translators believe in the doctrine of the trinity, they have deliberately and wrongly used the English masculine gender when translating the Greek neuter gender nouns and pronouns pertaining to the Holy Spirit.

And thus we have here~

John 14:15- If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
16- And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you for ever,
17- even the spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him; you know him, for he dwells with you, and will be in you.

The word translated from both Heb/Gk mean simply "Breath" or "the Wind" conveying an unseen power.

John 15:9- As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you; abide in my love.
10 -If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.
11- These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.

John 8:26- I have much to say about you and much to judge; but He who sent me is true, and I declare to the world what I have heard from Him.”
27- They did not understand that he spoke to them of the Father.
28- So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the son of man, then you will know that I am he, and that I do nothing on my own authority but speak thus as the Father taught me.
29- And He who sent me is with me; He has not left me alone, for I always do what is pleasing to Him.”

Separate Beings.

There are so many separate posts by Inspired by God, it's a challenge to get to what you are saying.

They are not separate 'beings'--beings are created by the Creator. As Scriptures say, they are ONE. We live in a 3 dimensional world--we have no reference point how God is One, only to accept it, since there is nothing to compare Him to; the same way a believer accepts the universe and all it contains was created 'out of nothing', the 'earth hangs suspended on nothing.' the precision of all of creation which no one can wrap their minds around, yet God has given man the ability to unfold many of it's mysteries.

A woman is one. She may also be a daughter, a sister, a mother, a wife, a cousin, a friend. She is all these and still one.

What does scripture say?

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is ONE."--Deuteronomy 6:4

"I and the Father are one.”--John 10:30

"Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time, and you do not know Me yet, Philip, nor recognize clearly who I am? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father?’"--John 14:9

"Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves."--John 14:10-11

Your claim is incorrect, for the simple fact that English does not have a personal third-person genderless pronoun. "It" does not refer to a person, but to a thing. "He" is the best-available term. Again, the translation must make sense in the destination language.

Why don't we listen to HIS words before our pre-conceived ideas?
And if you did listen to His words, what would you conclude? No one needs "pre-conceived ideas" about this since the Bible is crystal clear that Jesus is God. So do we have another Jehovah's Witness here trying to pervert that doctrine?

Jesus thru the inspiration of the Holy Spirit spoke directly thru David in the Psalms.

I saw the Lord always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will live in hope,
because you will not abandon me to the grave,
nor will you let your Holy One see decay.
You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence.--Psalms 16:8-11

  1. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
  2. O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
  3. But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
  4. Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
  5. They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.
  6. But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
  7. All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
  8. He trusted on the LORD[a] that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
  9. But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
  10. I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.
  11. Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
  12. Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
  13. They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
  14. I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
  15. My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
  16. For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
  17. I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
  18. They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
  19. But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me.
  20. Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
  21. Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
  22. I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.
  23. Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.
  24. For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
  25. My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.
  26. The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.
  27. All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
  28. For the kingdom is the LORD's: and he is the governor among the nations.
  29. All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.
  30. A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the LORD for a generation.
  31. They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.--Psalm 22
