How I answer this depends on whether we are talking to Christians or US citizens.
Advice to Christians
I do not believe the NT counsels us to respond to someone who is rioting by posting 17 year olds outside your business. I do not believe that is the proper understanding of turning the other cheek. Instead the verses that have been most instructive to me are the ones that say if there is no son of peace in the city and they don't welcome you then shake off the dust as a testimony against them and go to the next city. I live in NYC, they have a vaccine mandate. I have resigned my job as a result as has my wife and my son is not attending college. However, we are not "protesting", our plan is to sell what we have here and move to a more welcoming city. I believe if everyone in NYC who rejected the vaccine mandate did that it would have been a knock out punch to this corrupt regime. This is my advice to those who see themselves as ambassadors of the kingdom of the heavens.
Advice to Citizens
The first amendment protects your right to speak, to protest, and to have rallies. The second amendment protects your right for self defense with a gun. However, it talks about a "well regulated militia". I think everyone has noted that Kyle was not part of a well regulated militia. Perhaps he had been led into a trap or perhaps they were just really not well regulated. Either way if you are going to put yourself in harms way like that then by all means make sure you are part of a well regulated militia. For Kyle to go to Kenosha where his dad lives is very understandable. For Kyle to want to help is also admirable. He was asked by someone to help defend his business on the street, the lawyer for Kyle mentioned this in his comments after the verdict yesterday. I don't have any issue with either of those points. My issue is with the adults looking to protect their property with a 17 year old without making sure he was part of a well regulated militia. I think he was working with the "Proud Boys" so it is not clear who is at fault here for not making sure he is part of a well regulated militia. For example, if his dad and the man who asked Kyle to do this were both standing next to him with their firearms this never would have happened.
