After God gave me the Holy Spirit, by read the 10 commandments, I found proof that TV, movies, watching sports (violence like football, covet their lives and they are idols), novels, music, video games and computer games are all sins, except Christian stuff that don’t have sins like sermons and Christian music words that gives messages. I found out that in them there is lying, stealing, adultery (Matthew 5:28 looking at someone with lust is adultery), fornication which is sex before marriage, revenge, murder, jealousy, pride=self-pity, hypocrisy, using God’s name in vain as a curse word, they are all idols (breaks 2nd Commandment) because most people can’t live without them and they love them more than God and more. Just read the 10 commandments for a list. You must remove all sources of sin.

Jesus came to save us elects out of sin.
I agree with many of the points made in your post, however, there are certain points that jump out, as not being Scriptural.

First, I agree that TV viewing and Video games, etc. are or could be sin. Believers need to be careful about what they watch but watching is not always sin. Keeping up with world events, on the news, is not sin. A believer should be well informed. Watching a trusted expositor give meaning to Scripture, is certainly not sin - as you stated. Where sin comes in, may have more to do with this passage than any other:

Eph. 5:16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. also: (Col.4:5; Rom.13:11)

Every Christian is guilty of not using the time wisely. We should be spending the majority of our time on/in the things of God but we are easily distracted.

Second, You said, that "repentance" meant not doing that sin any more. Repentance, speaks of a "turning away", a "change of mind". Therefore, genuine repentance is a change in ones over all life direction, not necessarily an end to a particular sin. If everyone of us were honest, we would all agree, that there is a particular sin that is most difficult to defeat, in our lives. Whether it be in speech, or patience, or compassion, or some action of the flesh. This particular sin, keeps us humble and constantly before the Throne of Grace, seeking forgiveness.

Third, and I find this one most objectionable. You said and I quote: "After you have received the Holy Spirit and have confessed and repented of any known sins that you have done, then you pray to God to get rid of all evil spirits out of you."

This will not stand the test of Holy Scripture. Evil spirits are not the cause of your sin. This is the same thing as saying: "The Devil made me do it." Sin is inherit in our fallen nature. Therefore, we love sin. Grace, makes a change of mind and life possible and Sanctification cleanses our life as we grow. BUT, sin is sin and our sins are our own, not some evil spirit twisting our arms to do it. Demonic influences, are sometimes seen in temptations but not in our decision process. Your belief in demonic spirits and the roles they play, probably comes from errant teaching through a Charismatic doctrine. The Scripture says the following about sin:

Rom_5:12 Therefore, as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin; and so death passed unto all men, for that all sinned:--

Rom_6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey the lusts thereof:
Jas_1:15 Then the lust, when it hath conceived, brings forth sin: and the sin, when it is fullgrown, brings forth death.

1Co_10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

In these verse sections is the truth of sin. 1) All sinned in Adam, thus are born with the sin "principle". 2) Our own sin nature drives our "lust" (Desires), and when "lust" has fully conceived in our minds, we act. (see also 1Jn.2:16). 3) No temptation or sin is associated to another but "...is common to (or which is in), a man..."

Each individual is responsible for the lusts of sin. One cannot shirk the blame onto an evil spirit and evil spirits do not dwell in every yet unsaved person.

One thing that amazes me in these forums are seemingly intelligent believers, quoting a variety of bible verses, with scriptural knowledge, but without kindness or intuition to discern a person's mental stability. I am referring to those, while having moments of lucidity, go off into 'lala' land--please have enough insight to discern my meaning. The word 'grace' is tossed about these forums like rice at a wedding, but so often ends up falling to the ground.
Grace tossed like rice at a wedding was amusing. Falling to the ground is an accurate estimation of the 'grace' tossed about in the forums only to fall to the ground.

Hmm? Missed your point--I think you are able to see while I'm still editing? It says 'cruel crowd'.
Aha!!!! You changed the crow into a crowd instead of a cow! I trust your judgement. :):coffee: (It still said 'crow' when I took the reply snapshot, I think. If it was a truncation, it was purely accidental.) Wouldn't it have been terrible if I had truncated an elephant?

I'm sorry Oyster, but I will have no choice but to use my red phone to call Peta--the punishment I hear is to mince you up and put you on a half shell to be served up as hors d'oeuvres at a cattlemen's conference....

There were certain theological flaws in that movie.

It purported that the law that was written in stone, is written in the hearts of the Jewish people apart from faith in Jesus Christ, under the Old Covenant.
Movies and TV are written by men of the flesh, they give the laws that govern our fleshly life. It is called a worldly kingdom. As Christians, we are of God accepting the laws of God that are within us, we don't listen to the worldly laws as our guide any longer.
T
If we go to movies or TV that pretend to teach us about God, Christians are not fooled by their pretense. Christians go to scripture to learn about God, that scripture serves as a filter for false teaching of film and TV.

I think Laura ought to turn that cruel crow into a cow with her magic-speller wand. :giggle:
Cruel Cow,

You laughed at me so derisively,
My wranglers you said were out of style (you didn't say it, but I saw it in your eyes.)
I know you think you're the 'cat's meow'
Well I'll tell you know
I look better in my wrangler's than you with your shiny new bell.
(but I think the farmer loves you better than me--cruel cow!)
Plus these are my grubby work pants for working in the barn...you know?
Cruel cow, I'll go for now...
But I'll be back to milk you and I'm bringing Nellie, the stinky sow...
(to be your barn pal until you say i'm sorry)

Well, for instance there is one member at another forum who is pretty clearly off his cracker. He posts all the time, and is a big thread starter, but some of it is just nuts. I can't remember specific things atm, but a few mild examples would be starting threads like.

- "Chickens are powerful animals." (nothing more said)
- "I'm sensing everyone else is crazy." (nothing else said).

It's like his mind is receiving "messages," which show up on a forum indiscriminately.

I guess I'm saying that if someone habitually posts threads like "I used to be a hamster, but now I'm Spiderman," you don't really need a doctor's note to know there might be a problem.
Well, I don't know if that would necessarily qualify.
Case in point....

I don't mind riding in the dingy...that is if we're not going too far. Will you be packing the lunches? If so, no onions on my sandwich please--and I prefer sour dough if you have it. Thanks!;)
We shall be having spider sandwiches, my dearest. Don't worry, I picked the legs off for you.

Well, I think it's okay if there are people that are 'seekers', but when it gets to that point, they should be reported--rudeness and craziness are why people leave the forums. It's called Christian Chat for a reason. I requested my account to be deleted the first week I was on it because of this--fortunately they didn't, as I am learning from others on the site, it has me studying scripture to formulate an argument and praying for God to reveal more truth as I go thru the process.

PS One guy posted a video taking his shirt off and said some other strange things too. We can't let this place become a 'free for all'.
You feel free to rebuke me at any point. I know you do so only because you care.
Sometimes I just post according to the content and don't even look at the source. I can be like a robot that just goes around correcting false doctrine (or what I perceive as such.) You are the very definition of a true friend to me. :):coffee:

I want to laugh with people, not at them. Believe me, I know what it feels like to be laughed at.

PS See pic of Cruel Cow and poem about her in post #88

Yes, I am painfully aware of the uncanny resemblance to bull testicles. You should take your own advice and be more sensitive about these things.
