I was meditating on this just last night. It is morning here. Yes, the subject of the days and when they begin are worthy of BDF.
When our Lord died for us it was at the end of the fifthe day. It was before sunset, so the third day would be what is called Monday afternoon.
I do not think this is very important to those who are content with the way days are counted since the non-believers changed our calendar to the solar calendar, but it is definitely thoughtworthy.
What's BDF? Yes it was before sunset because it went dark too, remember? I wonder if time changed when Joshua prayed that the sun and the moon stand still and Isaiah prayed the Sun go back. I wonder how much time was changed? Extremely fascinating :D

So these verses reminded me of this verse

Psalms 18

11 He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.
Yes, that's the mental image I have of the Creation: a still, quiet lake extending in all directions, and then God's spirit moves across it like a ripple that might be stirred by the wings of a bird... like the dove that descended on Christ at His baptism.

God SPEAKS things into existence, God BREATHES life into man... Speech and breath generate air... As a flat earther who holds to a dome-like enclosure around the atmosphere I wonder: is our Earth realm in a bubble standing out from the great deep?

We are so disconnected from the natural cycle God gave us. Our concept of day now includes BOTH day and night wrapped into one, and the timing of them is determined by manmade machines and not the passage of the Sun.

deep calleth unto deep .. ....and yes I believe so... And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind ........ the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

And I've been wanting to learn how to use an astrolabe, lol. Yeah, I think it's still possible. Kind of lost arts these days but I'm sure there are still books and things about these topics out there somewhere. :D

Oh so much knowledge that has been lost and forgotten, shameful. I believe that astrology and astronomy were once united but split to lose important information about times and events etc.

They must have been, from the Biblical context. HOW did the wise men know the signs they were seeing in the heavens as relating to Christ's birth. Somehow, they DID and the Bible calls them WISE men! They aren't ever condemned for practicing some forbidden or immoral science.

I think a lot of astrology today though has been tainted with superstition and paganism. Sadly it's hard to know exactly how much falsehood is mixed into it today. For that reason I'm very cautious. I don't want to embrace vain superstitions unknowingly or be a stumbingblock to someone who has gotten mixed up in the Satanic occult before.

But most scholars think - to illustrate your point - that the Zodiac isn't mystical but practical and that it existed pre-Flood and was handed down by Noah to his descendants, because virtually all ancient peoples with any techological advancement at all had a Zodiac of their own. I also wonder if it served not only to help teach the constellations (which would have been used for navigation and time telling) but also to pass down actual historic events or other allegorical truths based on commonalities between the Zodiac of different cultures. And the Bible mentions some of the constellations of the Zodiac.

I sometimes feel overwhelmed at all the things I'd like to figure out how to know and understand. Hehe, life, right? ;)

How much time does humanity need? I find the earth and humanity absurd, extremely sad.
“And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

yes I do also it’s a place of extreme sorrow if one is looking to God. We can see how far creation has fallen away from him .

Timing , Well the thing is no one knows but it’s a good thing that he’s giving his forebearance to us

he’s allowing the world to go on even though it’s wicked and sad like that because he doesn’t want us to perish he wants as many as Will believe to come to repentance and be saved

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

(but this is where our Hope and joy is found )

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9-10, 13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

one day those sad tears and sorrow , the goodbyes we go through when someone dies all the evil will be destroyed and there will only remain the lords kingdom which he has offered To us

We have this promise we can surely depend on

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:1, 3-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s our inheritance when this world crumbles away the promises of Christ will remain

this world is like we’re on a journey towards home we see the light far away sometimes we drop Into valleys , other times we stand on peaks sometimes there are wolves that surround us other times we stand in a group of shepherds

but it’s all temporary , the things of the gospel will Last and his reality will soon come to pass

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:35‬ ‭

Jesus makes a lot of promises to his disciples we often speak of the good news but it begins with believing the gospel

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There’s no better news than we have been delivered from the chains of death and have a home with the Lord waiting one day the sorrow will be washed away and we will stand somewhere in glory singing worthy is the lamb who was slain !!! And the tears and reasons for sorrow will Be forgotten as we gaze at the face of the lord !!!

Okay, feel free to ignore my post in the other thread.

I didn't forget anything. There was darkness (evening) before God created light (morning).

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
How could there be light created on the first day when it wasn't until the fourth day?

The Hebrew word for light in the first day is "or" and means all goodness. The Hebrew word for the light on the fourth day in "maor" and means light giver.

I think there is so very much we are told in scripture about the hours of the day, I don't think this thread should be a joke at all, but about how God thinks of the times of the day.

God even divides the day into segments of three hours each, and there is so much that scripture says about those times. Even as we read about the day Christ was crucified scripture tells us the hours of the day each thing happened. Scripture mentions 6:00 AM, 9:00 AM, Noon, 3:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. often.

Are you saying that the light God created on the first day was not "or" as scripture says, but because God had evening and morning on the first day, then you believe that "moar" was created that day and not what scripture says?

It seems to me that is not believing that scripture is truth, but we must each stay true to our own insights.

sister did you read that ? And your saying I don’t believe it ? Read again

I’m saying I agree 100 percent with this

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:1-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I agree do you ?

when was the light shown before the first day ? Or somehow on the fourth day ? Consider your post to me for yourself what is confusing about that scripture there ?

the light is Jesus Christ he created the universe and was before all things

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:1-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The light came before everything else and I don’t see how you would argue that I’m not accepting scripture that seems off for you you usually stick to scripture

I don't agree at all. The original said "or" and "moar" and those two different words were both translated as light. I agree with how God gave it to man. But I think we can live with our disagreements. Thanks for letting me state what I believe.
