That is an interesting way to express it. Jesus functioned in all of the gifts, correct me if I am in error, He was here to model how the Father wanted us to live and lay down His life for us that the comforter might come.
He was clear in Matthew 3 when we receive Holy Spirit we are to heal, cleanse, raise, etc. all from one anointing, we can all be called on to work in any area He gives us guidance to work in to do His good will and it not be be a specific "gift" as most view it.
best wishes

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Verse 17 Specifies: [In MY NAME]

So, In the Name of Yeshua, people today are able to:

1. Cast out Devils
2. Speak with New Tongues
3. Take up Serpents
4. Accidentally drink Poison and live
5. Lay hands on the sick and they are healed.

All of those are Active Today if you Believe and do it by the Name of Yeshua [Jesus]!
Well you change the word of God.
Vers 17 says: these signs should follow.....
You says: people today are able to.......
This is a big difference!

Vers 18 says: and if they drink any deadly thing......
You says: accidentally drink poison.........
This is also a different!

So, how many devils you cast out? How many serpents (poison)you take up?
How many times you drink poison?
How many sick people you healed by laying you hand upon them?

Yes, and no. I'm not suggesting the Holy Spirit won't pass on the gift of being able to speak in a foreign language, He can, at His discretion. What I am saying is that the utterances of so-called tongues I heard in the various pentecostal and charismatic denominations I wandered through after my conversion to Christianity, were most likely mere concoctions of their own vain imaginations, and were not gifted to them by the Holy Spirit. Having spent time with them, I found that their normal attitudes and behaviour, even of those that had been in their fellowship for years, was often not very Christ like, and went unchecked.

And then you go right back and do it again, I don't ever recall you being this abrupt until just lately. Nothing another person says or does justifys this. I gets in the way of your work for the kingdom, the winning of crowns to lay at His feet on that day each of us has ahead of us.:)
best wishes
go right back and do what again? not perform according to your specs?

if, IF, God has called me to do anything for His kingdom, it is without your permission or knowledge. as cliché as this sounds, I don't answer to you in either case

I have refrained from xing some of your posts that I really disagree with because I did not see the point....I could have incurred your ire against me way back but I chose not to because I know how you react

I will continue to express what I want as I see fit...within the rules of this forum .

perhaps do yourself AND me a favor and ignore me

of course not, please chill.
Once we accept Christ we are no longer our own, it isn't about competition, it is about cooperation. "Me" "mine", "I" are no longer in our vocabulary more and more.
best wishes,

"Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' "—Matthew 7:22-23

I wouldn't worry so much about whether a thing is done in His name but whether or not He's actually authorized it. Anyone can say "In His name."

Dear Brother, lets not stumble into mere words that may incite a concern.

John 14

13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

The Lord's name is the only name we have that brings glory to the Father.

I am certain we have all seen the name of Jesus misused - and when it is - even then - the Lord is merciful with the lack of wisdom that is shown in brethren that are zealous for the Father. Naming the Lord's name is not a thing to make a mistake about - even in your claim. The brother was speaking about the reality of the written word and not making light of the oft mistaken claims of some brethren.

Whoa!!! I have not been reading every post but, I just read some….Yikes!

Enough pointing fingers and ripping each other to shreds over “denominations and doctrines.”

We’re all at different places. We’re children of God still learning and still growing and maturing.

Be patient with each other. Speak the Truth in love. Take a time out if you need to.

Eyes on Jesus Christ - NEVER look away!(y)

One of the heresies that deny that Jesus is divine as well as human, depicts Him as just an ordinary man who was filled with the Holy Spirit. We need to ensure that we don't make the same mistake and treat Jesus as just human and deny His divinity. I think it could be a type of arrogance to think that we are the same as Jesus, because we are not.

Why did Jesus Christ NOT condemn the woman caught in adultery when He was the ONLY ONE that could cast the first stone?

….and what did He say to her?

Consider God’s ways….and learn them.

Actually, you are misinterpreting what those Verses are stating.

If a Pastor is not a True Shepherd of his Flock, there will be clicks, divisions, groups here and there within the Church Body. So anything that is allowed will be noticeable from anyone observing.

That is why I made sure to list what He said, not what I could assume. If He said it could be done, by how He explains it to be done, it has to be True.
