Thank you,
How many of us can admit that OUR lens may be the WRONG way to look at a world desperate for the salvation and knowledge of God.

This video exemplifies many thoughts in our heads daily as we go about life, we have all been guilty of this at times.

People are like ICEBERGS,you only glimpse the part that rises from the deep,
Underneath the waters ( people) some icebergs are so large they take down huge ships. The part not seen can be all the hurts, anger, anguish, emotional, mental and physical abuses suffered, failures with family ect. that people hold onto.

This post made me happy bc,at times I need reminding of "How I look at things and people" as opposed to how GOD sees them.

Loved the marbles analogy,I most probably was wrong about you bc I viewed you through the WRONG lens. I apologize with deep sincerity and will TRY always to LOOK THROUGH GOD'S LENSES FIRST........prayer needed.
Never judge a book by its cover is always good advice... impressions are always temporary ;)

According to what [member] "Magenta" put in her second paragraph (first sentence) of Post #6 of this thread, it doesn't sound too likely that a "Mod" would even see this thread, unless someone [or someone else] specifically brings it to their attention.
It has (since I posted) been brought to his attention :D In post #25 ;)

In fact, if ever anyone wants to call someone's attention to a thread, put the @ before their
user name, and they will get an alert that they have been mentioned, with a link to that post :)

If I may elaborate, on this weirdnesses,. ,. I think the problem is not so much the different faiths, or the how the mods run things here', I think the real weirdness, that goes on here is certain doctrines that don't need to be preached to Christians, Christians preach them to each other,. Totally weird,. But anyhow welcome to the forum @JAPOV there are some fantastic mature lovely people here, also a bit wacky, but you know many Christians are wacky at times lol. God moves in mysterious ways lol.
I trust the Spirit. To the secular world I'm sure that's strange, but to other Christians it shouldn't be...

Notice below that Jesus neither confirms nor denies that John will never die. John penned this letter and didn't attempt to interpret what Jesus meant. However, John noted that his fellow disciples, apostles, and brethren actually had a different perspective than him, "Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die:"
John 21:20-23 KJV
20Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee? 21Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? 22Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me. 23Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?
Ah yes, brother. But what about if John was alive when Jesus came - as stated by the Lord? What then, brother? Save it for the appropriate place. That thread is itching to be finished. Sometimes vagueness isn't vague at all. It's prophetic.

Who was mod when our Lord was engaged with dialogue between the Lawyers, Pharisees and Saddueces and Scribes? or when Paul engaged in various controversies?

The bible is a book of debates and disputes.
I must disagree... The Word exemplifies God's perfect will despite our limitations. :)

I agree,I have found some precious thoughts in books that had broken spines ( broken spirits),ripped or creased pages ( weary from battle), missing chapters ( no sense of direction), and either were well used then discarded (overzealous, took no time to keep the soul nourished) ( burnout) , or overlooked!

If we don't look for a treasure,it is certain we won't find one!

I realize I am taking this statement out of context a bit, but it does not make it any less striking.

I disagree with you vehemently. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we are one body, especially when we worship Him.
When truly led by the spirit, I would absolutely agree.

The reason I am on this site is that it helps with my study of God, and I don't think I am alone in that. If we thought we knew it all we wouldn't keep studying.
I seek first His kingdom, glory, and righteousness. I trust in the Spirit to bring to recollection the wisdom of God's word.

My spirit leads me here... but my spirit is hardly ever rewarded.
Leads you to the site or something in context of his post?

It's an activity that's better than some other things. Stay out of BDF and you won't have as much of an issue...

I've rarely felt "led" here but I think that has happened. It's sort of a "whatever your hand finds to do..." sort of thing for me.

I seem to have less and less energy to respond on the forums but stay off BDF and leave people to it? You have to develop some thick skin for that particular forum. It's irritating that I will grant and it is difficult to reconcile the disparity between believers...Note: disparity not discord. I'm not saying it "should" get heated, merely that there is necessarily a bit of angst with firmly held biblical beliefs especially ones that WE came up with and are in error about. Should be said with gentleness and love though to be sure.

Sometimes there is indeed a ruckus that needs moderation but I have seen them address things many times when things get out of hand for certain members. I agree with most all of their decisions and am impressed with their discernment...you just have to look pretty close.

What you/we do NOT see is the warnings that are given privately to individuals by mods, bear that in mind. There is a good bit that goes on behind the scenes that isn't practically (or appropriately in my view) able to be known.

Well, that isn't so unusual. Since the beginning, the disciples, apostles, and brethren had disagreements and different perspectives. Sometimes it's due to intentional vagueness:

Here's openly public opposition between two hand-picked, God-ordained apostles: Paul (formerly known as Saul of Tarsus; Acts 9:11) and Peter (also known as Cephas; John 1:42)
Galatians 2:11 KJV
11But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.

So this isn't unusual really. There have always been different perspectives and different sects. Jesus said, "he that is not against us is for us":
Luke 9:49-50 KJV
49And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us. 50And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.
"JAPOV, post: 4783412, member: 312574"]In the time of Nimrod, men still knew how many generations removed they were from Adam and Eve. Men knew precisely the God they were rebelling against despite their knowledge of God. Do you not find it interesting that, when we all gather together, even in God's name, we find no accord?

Claiming ownership of what God has provided freely, World conquest through subjugation, And denying God has been at the heart of man's downfall since Cain and Abel... What monument to man's arrogance and greed have we built despite God today?

referencing the heavy type above

what?
What was the real difference between Cain and Abel? I didn't truly get it until I read Ecclesiastes...

Right! But you said we are all weird.

You know one time my Mother told me that when I was born I frightened her. So I asked her how that could be. She said that I was all blotchy and streaked with blood and had glazed eyes. So I laughed and said, "but Mother, all babies are born distressed." So She said, "No Son when you came out I shrank back in terror and the midwife asked me what was wrong. And I said to her in disbelief, "look at him". So I interjected and said "but Mother, that's OK - trying to make her feel better about having such a reaction to the sight of me." Then my Mother now less patiently said, "but Son you spoke in Hebrew and said, "listen woman I'll be all brushed up in an hour. Chill out". So I said "Oh Mother - now that's weird." Shalom brother.

Lol sorry bout this but it’s how
My head works when I see your posts

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:44-46‬ ‭KJV‬

first off welcome to Christian chat. Second, you make want to start by reading the titles of each forum before posting. Much of what you are asking is answered in the Welcome to CC Forum thread and the founder has his personal greeting.

All Moderators are volunteers. There are not many. However, the site has been here for a long time, and I know of three that started after CC and no longer exist. If you have an issue with something there is a report tag in each posting window, use it. Or you can Pm Oncefallen or the founder.

have a blessed day.
Very flat and authoritative... Thanks. That's precisely what I needed from the one who called me a "racist"...

P.S. I see you are fairly new here at CC... I just want to add: Welcome! Hope to see you around the boards. = )
Thank you. :)

I thought moderators would happen on any thread of their choosing. Especially under the link for new replies or posts. Just as a matter of observing what is being said without needing a report to garner attention.

Forgive me for being pathetic.
You are not pathetic, brother. At least I would NOT say you were as an insult. But your response to what I said on that passage was pathetic - because it was stubborn and needless. John was alive when Jesus came [back]. That is the point of what I was saying about that passage of Scripture. John died in his bed a few years later. Jesus spoke prophetically - He didn't speak vaguely. If you think about it you'll realise how that prophetic word of the Lord to Peter about John was fulfilled. Thats it.

My spirit leads me here... but my spirit is hardly ever rewarded.
I think I understand what you mean. The belittling doesn't bother me personally, and in fact, it amuses me. But on the flip-side, by Heart is broken as I see others being attacked. And more, my heart is also broken for those who do the belittling (and laugh as I defend). It boggles my mind that people think it is funny when others are being attacked. And so in this sense, my Heart is rarely rewarded because there are few moments when I see someone who is genuinely and effectively communicating with a sincere Heart.

I hope I understood you properly.

I truly want to believe that. However, I see time and again those with the knowledge of God starting arguments with no spiritual direction or purpose whatsoever.
This happens nearly every day that I post. Just this morning someone began slinging dirt at me for no reason whatsoever. I'm beginning to believe that there are a vast number of folks here with serious mental instability issues. And if that's the case, I should back off and not push back as I do.
