Is there anyone else that goes on here that dresses modest? Also, I have autism and I know I don't ask things the right way a lot of times but I hope I asked it the right way. I don't wear pants or jeans hardly ever and I have been made fun of about it sometimes.

What is your understanding of modest dressing?
Do you choose not to wear pants or jeans (and I assume that goes for shorts too?) because you are uncomfortable in them and how they feel on your body?
There is nothing wrong with that.
Just as long as what you do wear is not skin tight, or see through, or so short that everything (your buttox and thighs) hangs out.

This has always been a question that sorta bothers me. There is a lot more to modesty then just how one dresses. For example, in a cold climate, covering yourself from head to toe in clothing might work... But if you move to a hot climate, then you can't do that...

The reason for modesty is always connected to sexual desire and lust. "Don't cause a brother to stumble." And yet we guys often tend to stumble anyways... The Christian Church is still trying to figure out how to make this all work... Some Churches go to one extreme, and others go to another extreme.

I know this might sound over simplified. But my suggestion is, use common sense. The lord knows your heart.

Your wording was just fine. Thank you for doing what used to be common sense. I appreciate when women dress modestly. I know a lot of other people do too.

That's awesome. From my point of view, it's kind of entertaining to watch other women squirm with dumb excuses when a modest lady is around. They only make fun of you because they don't want to feel bad about themselves.

Dressing modestly is about how fancy you dress....not about how much skin you show.

Some people wear very expensive clothes...and enjoy doing so. Others aren't so wealthy and do good to show up in Walmart or TJMax outfits.

So...
What Paul was talking about was not showing off your wealth when going to Church.

Otherwise dress like everyone else....
But it's inappropriate to show up in a bikini when everyone else is wearing blue jeans....or wear blue jeans when everyone else is wearing swimwear.

I was once at a party where a new guy to the group brought his girlfriend. She was having a wardrobe malfunction but unaware.
She exclaimed to a friend of mine about "How everyone was SO NICE "
My friend said, "Well honey, it's because your boob is hanging out".

Not sure how you could misconstrue that the OP was posing a question about moral dress code. But you are part right, dressing modestly from a Christian perspective, besides not showing off your sexual parts, is also not to show of your financial wealth.

This was a serious question by the OP. She is trying to gauge people's opinions on what is reasonable attire for a Christian lady, and it certainly didn't warrant any crude and insensitive response such as what you presented in the last paragraph of your post.

Just so you understand....I don't have non-Christian friends. I don't hang out with people who aren't Christians. I might work well with non-christans but do not count them amongst my friends. Certainly wouldn't go to a party with non-christians.

And it isn't a "crude story". It happened just the way I described it just a month or so ago. The guys were too embarrassed for her to say anything. One of the women told her.

Sounds like you need a better circle of friends. Ones who know how to behave.

I'm not going to distract the conversation away from the OP's intent. Enough said.

To the OP:

There is no need to feel weird or strange for not wanting to wear pants. I believe that in your case, the Holy Spirit is speaking to your conscience about how you should dress. And you should do what the Spirit says to do in your life.

That's what Bible passages such as Romans 14 are about.

And in James 4, it says (paraphrase) that if you know to do good and don't do it, to you it is sin. Which means that your conscience would accuse you if you were to dress immodestly

In short, dress modestly for the Lord.

The issue here is what is immodest to one is not immodest to another. You refer to jeans and pants as immodest. I've never thought this to be the case, it's never even crossed my mind before now.
And it does not seem to be a belief held by most Christians.
Also where does that leave men?
So your question may get answers, but if a woman states she dresses modestly that may not mean her idea of modesty is the same as yours.
I've seen this subject arise on this site from time to time and it has typically ended up with arguments over what constitutes modest dress.

It usually is about how close to one of the two poles (north or south) as to how much clothing is appropriate.
Meaning that colder climates cover up more to refrain from being perceived as a slutty woman.

What's acceptable on the gulf States is not appropriate in Canada....or even may appear as almost prudish in Brazil. (Seeing how they got a thread going on)

Which brings up the Muslim States....they want women to cover from head to toe....but it's hot as hades there.

My arritudes are mine...they aren't influenced by anyone else but me. If I were to lust because of what a woman wears then I have the problem...she doesn't. Doesn't mean that it won't take a day or two when I change cultures to normalize myself to the cultural norms.

What partial nudity means in Alabama doesn't mean the same thing in Europe or Alaska or Israel or Brazil or Africa.

No sense in getting in a tizzy about it.
This isn't my world...I just have to live in it.

I know someone who doesn't wear pants with a zipper fly because of the passage that forbids women to dress as men.

Yet, in Jesus day men wore the stoli, or the chitōn.
Picture long or short dresses.

My answer to the first post is this, when considering proper dress.

Would you feel comfortable standing face to face with Jesus wearing that?
Applies to men or women.

I wear a two piece swimsuit (a bikini) to swim in for fun and to tan in. I have one piece suits and a few modest swimsuits. I choose the suit based on how I feel and what I will be doing.

I note that you have a Jewish background, and have stated that you are not a Christian. Thank you for your honesty.

The bottom line for Christians in this topic is, that they mustn't flaunt themselves in any way that might entice their brother or sister into sin, or bring dishonour to the name of Jesus. That includes consideration of what they wear...or don't wear, and in how well they are meeting God's standard of moral dress. Christians don't have any choice for setting their own standards here.

As far as Jews are concerned, the Jewish prophet Micah declares "
"He has told you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you.....
And you are to walk humbly with your God"!

Solomon declares (Proverbs 11) "But with the humble is wisdom"!

If we are carelessly or wilfully flaunting our 'wherewithal', we are not walking humbly, but rather we are contravening God's requirements of us, and that will be held on our record which we'll need to give an account/explanation for, unless we repent of it.

My grandson has Autism too. Little guy didn't talk until the age of three, but, at the same time he began reading! I'm talking 4 and 5 syllable words at the age of 3. I am so proud of him, love spending time with him. . Just dress in a way that doesn't inordinately attract attention to your body. God bless you.

Personally, I've always found women who dress modestly much more attractive than women who "let it all hang out", so to speak.

I've also never really been a fan of make-up on a woman.

My ex rarely wore make-up (not because I ever said anything about it), and I found her much more attractive without it than with it.
