What Christian denomination believes prophecies are no longer?

In Corinthians it says prophecies shall cease.

I know Preterists believe that all prophecies have happened.

What is the name for the denomination that believes prophecies are ongoing?

That has to do with the gift of prophecy, not propecies already given.

"Preterist" is not a denomination, and your assertion is incorrect. Some preterists believe all the prophecies have been fulfilled; these are called "hyper-preterists". Generally, most preterists believe that many prophecies have been fulfilled, but not all.

The term for people who think that significant end-time prophecies have yet to be fulfilled is futurist, but again, that's not a denomination.

There is no relationship between 1 Corinthians 13:8 and the various views regarding fulfilled prophecy. ALL God-given prophecy will be fulfilled if (A) it has not been fulfilled already and (B) the conditions for its annulment are not met. God's prophecies don't simply "cease".

The Pentecostal denomination is probably the largest and best known. Rather than a certain denomination, a lot of groups are typically grouped together and known collectively as "Charismatics." Many of these groups would describe themselves as non-denominational.

1 Corinthians 13 is saying Prophecies will cease in Heaven, when faith also will finally cease, and be replaced with the sight of the Lord.

"8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away ... 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. 1 Thess 5 shows us prophecies are ongoing. In fact, there were many prophets in the early Church, who prophesied as the Spirit led them.

"16Rejoice always, 17pray without ceasing, 18in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

19Do not quench the Spirit. 20Do not despise prophecies. 21Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22Abstain from every form of evil.

Perhaps you are asking who believes that the gift of prophecy still exists. I know that Pentecostal and Charismatic churches do, though there is a lot of abuse of spiritual gifts. I have experienced the genuine.
If God wants you to know something, He'll let you know. Chasing after prophetic words is a good way to get deceived. We do have an enemy who counterfeits the gifts.

Yup Pentecostal and charismatic denoms are the ones that have the gift of prophecy continuing.

I believe the gift of prophecy is completely tied to Gods progressing revelation, which is completed thru the completion of Gods Word.

Having a continuing gift of prophecy though you will find in almost every denomination. Baptist.. catholic.. apostolic.. Methodist.. Anglican.. etc..

It is movements within these that took a hold on continuation.

Prophecies Willi indeed cease, when they have been fulfilled.

Can you give an example or two of "progressing revelation?" What has the Spirit revealed lately that hasn't already been know since the canon was established?

Any denomination who thinks all prophecies have been fulfilled is a false Christian denomination..

Most denominations think that their are prophecies in the Bible yet to be fulfilled.. But there is a lot of variance.. Some think there are a lot of unfulfilled prophecies, some think there are less..

.....the major one being the return of Jesus....

Well no I cant... of course the Holy Spirit reveals His will to believers, but He no longer needs to repeat what He revealed thru scripture and setting up of the foundation of christianity thru His churches.

The process in God revealing His Word thru the canon ends the gift of prophecy. Revelation is finished.

Prophecy in terms of foretold events in the bible that are yet to come... of course not all that is fulfilled.. but that isn't the gift of prophecy.

I will also add.. that for those of us that see the sign gifts as having completed their purpose .. done their job.. ceased etc..

We would (I hope) still believe God can do miracles by His will, still do marvellous things.. still empower believers.. still stir the spirit of a believer up through the Holy Spirit. Still answering prayers. As one cessationist put it.. the Spirit is not dead! So there will charismatic experiences that may have, and probably were God genuinely moving in someone... like a healing done by His will.

Like someone going to a Benny Hinn event.. and then amongst all the show and fakery.. actually God does heal someone in the audience. (Although I have never heard or seen this)
