if the sabbath given to Israel was not a shadow of anything, from where do you get this idea of 'resting inwardly in Jesus' ?
The Sabbath created thousands of years before the first Jew, and Jesus said it was created for "man" -- "M-A-N" is a strange was to spell "Jew", right?

i simply think that if i could ever stop believing, it would mean i never truly believed in the first place.
what i believe is that God is faithful to me, that He will not fail to complete what He began in me
it's never been about me, but all about Him
In 1 Sam 10: 6-10 Saul receives the Spirit of the Lord and is able to prophesy which means that he was able to have direct communication with God and be led by His Spirit. Verse 9 says that God gave him another heart. In chapter 13 Saul is rejected by God because he intruded into the priest's office of burnt offering. In Chapter 15 Samuel tells Saul that the lord wants Saul to totally obliterate Amalek, his people ( every man, woman, children), and livestock. In Chapter 12: 15 Samuel tells Saul that if he does not obey the voice of the Lord ( lead by the Spirit ) that the hand of the Lord will be against him. In chapter 15: 35 the Lord repented that he had made Saul king over Israel. In Chapter 16: 14 God withdraws His Spirit from Saul and gives him an evil spirit to trouble him and achieve God's purpose for David.
What I gather from all of this is that God not only knows the future, can manipilate the process to fit His purpose, can withdraw His Spirit from a person, send an evil spirit, treat humans just like we treat bugs because He is so far above us, and is active in every generation. Most importantly God repents when is active in the human time line and allows people choice to obey His voice through His Holy Spirit. We have to remember that God is Almighty and can do whatever He wants. I would appreciate everyone's thoughts on this matter.

But YOU are NOT Jesus. Nor do you act like Him.
When I call out religious bulldookey for what it is, I'm doing EXACTLY what He did.

religion is something that you do religiously....as in a ritual done repeatedly. Jesus said that He prefers Mercy over Sacrifice. Meaning that going to church on Saturday with others who believe themselves righteous because they go to church on Saturday is not going to provide any benefit for my salvation. It looks like wisdom but it simply isn't.
This is why the OSAS crowd is difficult to reason with: selective versen negation. You ignore "If you love Me, keep My commandments" which is highly repetitive religious observance, reference "mercy over sacrifice" and claim that as sound exegesis.
Then there's the whole can of worms unwitingly opened by the Jewish council of the days being shifted. (By Constantine) Meaning that Sunday is actually the former Saturday....and if you go to church on Saturday you are going to church on Friday.
No change in the Sabbath day ever - it was kept by Christians in the NT and well into the new millennium, but wherever the tentacles of the Papacy took hold, Sabbath was done away with and Sunday was set up. Simply a matter of well documented, yet unknown, unpopular history. You owe it to yourself to become well acquainted with both sides of the issue, instead of one-sided, echo-chamber propaganda that is kept safe from critical analysis. Fake News does that. The Atheistic Scientific Community does that. The left wing politician does that.
Because if you get the day wrong....you got it wrong. Just like the lighting of a fire on a Sabbath...which you don't keep at all....it says to not light a fire but you freely admit to lighting them and break the Law. If you are going to keep the Law you have to keep ALL of it.
I assure you we keep the Sabbath - it's you guys who are guilty before God. Don't you think it's a bit unreasonable and Pharisaic to compare the starting of a car engine to building a fire?

Let Jesus be your Sabbath
Yes, if He's our rest, we can break the Sabbath commandment...

...and if He's our truth, we can lie

...and if He's our reward, we can rob banks

...and if He's our faithfulness, we can commit adultery.

Logic Progression: a great reading comprehension tool to keep ourselves from theological error.

No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him;
and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.
(1 John 3:9)
What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’
(Luke 15:4-6)
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely;
and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He who calls you is faithful, Who also will do it.
(1 Thessalonians 5:23-24)
Congratulations: you've just confirmed for the umpteenth time you carry a OSAS License to Sin in our wallet.

"IF ye continue in My word, THEN ye are My disciples indeed".

When Christ died on the cross, the veil to the Holy of Holies was rent. That means that we now have direct access to God our Father. In John 4: 20-24 the Samaritan woman asks Jesus if men ought to worship on that mountain or in Jerusalem. Jesus reply was that the time will come when true worshipers will worship in neither place but will worship in Spirit and in Truth. You can worship together in one place or you can worship at home alone or with family members and friends. Every day is the Lords and should be included in our lives.

I just takes a bath

whenever I can,

A hot bath is actually a luxury, not so much the amount of water...but the time you take to soak in it.

You just make the time

If you just wanna take a shower instead, well..yeah you may get clean in under five minutes but its just NOT the same is it?

I like what you are saying. I also think of it as a date with the Groom. A time to set up some rules for that date. No ordinary work that can be done on the other 6 days, that is Sunday thru Friday at sunset. No buying anything, or selling anything. Don't cause others to work, buy or sell on your behalf. Do meet in fellowship with like minded believers. Enjoy the reading of the word, old testament, prophets, poetry, and the new testament. Enjoy the open midrash knowing you are with friends and family, blood or not, and that everyone is given respect to each other. Plan ahead to prepare foods and anything else you may need for the day. For example if it is winter and you burn wood in the fireplace, have your logs ready before the Sabbath so as to just place a ready piece on the fire. Don't get caught up in whether you can push an elevator button or not or switch a light on or start the car. Enjoy the day without having this world's pressures loaded on your shoulders. Empty the trash the day before, both physically and spiritually. Love the groom and show Him respect and the gifts He gives to us for keeping the fourth commandment. Don't hate on other believers that are not at the same place in their journey as you are in your journey. Remember, where you started and how far you have come on the journey. Love the LORD with all your heart, mind and stregnth and love others as you love yourself. Show respect to others as you would show respect to our Creator and His Son. They want us to come to them in truth and obedience. After all, we are the Bride and the Groom is inviting us to come to His house and enjoy His rules.

A. Enter the Lord's sabbath-rest. Stop trying to get right before the Lord on your own merit. Accept what Christ did on the cross instead.
B. Acknowledge that the end of creation week, the Lord instituted a day of rest so we could regenerate, strengthen bonds with family and friends, dedicate the day to the Lord, making Him the center of it.
A is pertaining to salvation.
B is not pertaining to salvation.
A and B are not the same. Even though they use the same word.

this is all previously covered in great detail many times over.
2 Samuel 13:15 & John 15:12 destroy your semantical argument.
Revelation 3:15 & 2 Peter 2:8 destroy your thermodynamic argument.

1 John 5:5
Romans 8:9-11
Matthew 24:3 & 31, Hebrews 3:6, 3:14, 3:19, 4:2, 4:14, 6:11, 6:19, 7:18-19, 7:25, 8:12, 10:17, 10:22-23, 10:35-36

Hebrews 10:35-36 explains Matthew 24:13; i will repeat:

He who calls you is faithful, Who also will do it.
(1 Thessalonians 5:24)
No, there's no denying it - if the wicked can't demonstrate "agape" by happily keeping God's law, that means they do not possess it - which makes the "many" of Matthew 24:12 "SAINTS" who will end up lost due their "agape" turning cold and dead.

You nor anyone else in the OSAS crowd can't deny this - stop making Scripture a lie. Salvation is conditional - on condition we "abide in the Vine" and "continue in My word" and"endure unto the end". Those texts about Jesus not losing any the Father has given Him must be qualified as conditional: on condition the given choose to not be lost, choose to be kept by Jesus.

Only children wish to escape responsibility, while adults know their are consequences for making right or wrong choices.

that's not what Hebrews 4:9-10 says.
read all of chapters 3 & 4 together.

poignantly:

He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way:
“And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”;
and again in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.
(Hebrews 4:4-5)
the ceremony of sabbath-inactivity is 100% being described as a symbol of a greater rest, a rest that endures.
in the context, we are being told to hold fast our assurance of salvation, in faith: for it is by unbelief that Israel failed to enter the True Rest ((c.f.e. Hebrews 3:19))

see for example also:

For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.
(Hebrews 10:1-4)
if you obtained rest by ceremonially ceasing from physical activity once a week, you would not have to ritually repeat this week after week. if you obtained true fellowship by congregating week after week, you would not have to continue ceremonially gathering week after week.
these things are reminders; it is Christ Who gives us rest, if we come to Him. He is the Substance of what all those things testify to.
"It is therefore the duty of the people of God to keep the Sabbath. For he that has entered into His rest, he also has ceased from his own works as God did from His." - Hebrews 4:9-10 Lamsa's Peshitta
Whatever you think about this translation, these verses are correct, and you can check it against the other Peshitta translations.
Verse 9 says we're to keep the Sabbath. Verse 10 tells you why - a sign to the world full of false gods as to the fact we worship the one true Creator God. If we're resting inwardly in our Creator Jesus Christ, we'll demonstrate that by resting outwardly every 7th day.

Baseless? By your own mouth, you admit you carry a OSAS License to Sin by refusing to answer "yes" to the following question:

Can a grace-saved person return the free gift of salvation and be lost?
This is foolish on so many levels, it completely overlooks God's foreknowledge, His wisdom, His predestination [pre - planning] in bringing the elect one to the point and place of salvation.

It overlooks the nature of the new birth, in fact there is no recognition or even knowledge of it.

It completely fails to understand what the grace of God is.

No understanding of God and how He works.

... no understanding of our own worth to God, No comprehension that we are His property, His sheep. Nobody steals anything from God.

We need to have a working knowledge of these things before we can even get into the greater doctrines of the church being flesh of His flesh and bone of His bone, His very Body.

Ah, NOW I see why you worship on Satan's "venerable day of the Sun" which the Roman Catholic church baptized and dragged into the Christian church - because the Sun was created before the Sabbath day!

So, to which Jesuit Order do you belong?
