I think that's unfortunate. It looks like you'd prefer your daughter be an adulteress, than marry the man she Chose to be her partner. Not alot of faith in your rearing her to be responsible?

Are we Parents all praying God doesn't want us in heaven tonight? Why are we raising our Offspring, our Second Ministry field as a married couple, to be extended Children? How does this serve them?

You can blame the "laws" and the "society" but you ARE the society. Why are you not teaching them to be adults before they get there?
Nope...

But there's a thing about allowing her to make the mistake of marrying a 14 year old boy....

Most kids (especially mine) aren't allowed to date until 16 and even then it has to be supervised by an adult. So her being pregnant is a gross violations of my household.
And I will be the calm one...my wife isn't as forgiving as I am. The police would be needed for the boy's protection. Just saying. The boy would live longer abiding by restraining orders and possibly being incarcerated.

No one is going to take their 14 year old daughter being pregnant very well.

I, as a father, never gave her to that child as her husband and never will to that piece of gutter trash. Just ain't doing it. I have more respect for her than that. Even if she doesn't at the moment.

Not very progressive JohnDB. You know your local County Council probably would tell you that your daughter needs to have the right to surgically implant male gear on her body, and the US Federal Government is currently working out ways to fund that and take your daughter from you. Glad you trust Government Codes so much that you'd look to incarcerate anyone under this order...

Adoption is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. If these teens get the Proper support network behind them, they (or just one of them) can definitely successfully raise a child. Adoption does have its place in society, but ask 90% of the now adult babies adopted and they will say the same thing... 1. why? Why was I just given away? 2. Who am I. What are my origins, whom do I resemble in character & looks? Then ask the surrendering parents (usually just the mum) if they ever think of their child. That answer will be close to 98% saying... all the time. In a few years time, a teen parent will be fully capable to rearing a happy well adjusted child. They need a lot of guidance and support for the first few years but that's all.
As for how this happened.. church teens, Christian teens are still teens living in a society with a lot of edicts but very little hands on actual guidance and example. While not ideal, teen sex happens... even amongst the 'good' kids. Don't demonize them for this, they already have enough on their plates dealing with pregnancy and all its ramifications. I wonder how their parents are handling/dealing with it all. Hopefully in a supportive and loving way. This isn't the time for finger pointing. These kids need support.
Has anyone else here actually dealt with this issue close up and personally?

I know what I'd do....I'd get a restraining order for the boy and move the family lock stock and barrel to another state.

And if he contacted her again I'd have him thrown in jail. And if I couldn't I'd have his parents thrown in jail for not restraining their son.

Marriage?
Not my 14 year old daughter while I'm alive.

Just the way it is gonna happen for me.
Other parents might be more permissive...I'm not one of them. If the state won't prosecute I'll figure out another way to protect my family from outside influences that wish to destroy them.
Sounds about right. I cannot imagine what on earth goes through the minds of those who think it ok for two 14 year olds to 'marry.' Talk about making a bad situation worse.

Someone else called you a liar. You are also manipulative and change the 'facts' like others breath. You blow more smoke than a fire in CA.

A restraining order would also be handy against a Bible thumping cultish individual such as yourself.

Let me clarify the term Bible thumping. That would indicate those who use the Bible as an excuse for behavior that the Bible does not condone.

You remind me of a point I got at earlier. What are these young adults going to miss out on raising their own child?
A chance to spend 4years at a liberal arts school being told they should be ashamed for being Christian, they should cut off their genitals, and then be "graduated" with $50k in debt that can't be repaid because they aren't an H1B applicant, and not diverse enough?
They're definitely gonna miss out on dating around and one-night-stands? The joys of abortion?

Struggling to raise a righteous family shouldn't stop because our righteousness conflicts with the sinners of the world's view of what is useful.

My church has young adults below 15 who have been sexually active, and one of our young teens is now pregnant by one of our neighboring church's young men. It is the opinion of some of the men that the two should be married, and it is the opinion of some of the men that the two should not marry. Some in first reply have suggested adoption, and I know that some would even look past an abortion.

In the US, "legal" consent is normally no lower than 16. In Mexico I have heard it is 12.
Mary was probably 14-16 when she birthed Jesus.
Jesus says we cannot divorce.

I probably will have no say on this, but I want more help knowing how to talk about this.
Thoughts? Questions?
They are already married in the eyes of God. Sex is the marriage. The men who are correct are the ones who say that the couple though young should just make it official and undergo the ceremony and encourage the man and the woman to stay together, seeing as they have already done this thing, to the intent that they have a clean family still.

Once a thief always a thief? As if there is no forgiveness at the Cross....They are not a man and woman they are kids.

Psa 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
Psa 103:9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
Psa 103:10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
Psa 103:11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
Psa 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
Psa 103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
Psa 103:14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

His forgiveness is every bit as much Scripture as His thou shall nots

How thankful for His Grace, His forgiveness, at our repentance

Nope....not married in the sight of God.

I know several scriptures right off the top of my head that say otherwise....I believe someone has already posted them.

The children are fornicating. Nothing more or less.

There has been no giving of the bride and no exchange of commitment in front of witnesses....meaning no marriage.

Not equal acts in the flesh.
Jesus said "but I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for the reason of unchastity, makes her commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. "
Was Jesus himself unwilling to forgive?

Sex is the marriage.
A raped women/girl is now married to the scum bag? The child who is molested by Uncle Joe is now married to him? Who is the girl who is gang raped married too?
Are a couple married, by the officals , really married if for some strange reason there is no sex?
Some of these post show us so clearly how wonderful His Grace is.

"nothing more" I think we need a refresher on the Stoning which God Ordered under his Judgement.

Yes. That's exactly what the NT infers, and it's part of WHY you don't teach loose acts of sexuality.

" Or don’t you know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.” 17 But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with Him in spirit "

Luk 15:18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
Luk 15:19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
Luk 15:20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
Luk 15:21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
Luk 15:22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
Luk 15:23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
Luk 15:24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
Luk 15:25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
Luk 15:26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
Luk 15:27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
Luk 15:28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
Luk 15:29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
Luk 15:30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
Luk 15:31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
Luk 15:32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
