God can use a donkey to prophecy if He so chooses. Just yield your all to Jesus and you will be fine, my brother.

There is no need to grasp for magic wands.
Agreed to that. But what a great point. A culture chasing the Gifts of the Spirit through Talmudist directed Witchcraft lessons!
When all the time, all we need to have power, not just in a fairytale, is in Jesus.

And why are they thinking Witchcraft is interesting? Because it's a forgery of God's actual Holy Spirit. Now imagine if we still taught each other to be with that power, in its useful fullness, instead of suggesting that anyone looking for a Gift, Prophecy, or Healing, or Tongues, is just a wacko lacking in faith, and seeking fun times?

There are millions of dying sinners, that need someone to show up with a Harry Potter Word of Power; only it's Jesus's Word, Harry's a cheap script about faking Jesus.

I do like your zeal, and I'm sure God does to. :)

Luke 17:6
“And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.”

That does sound pretty cool.

...but for now, I'm just glad to be here.

Hopefully we can use it for more than farming implements, but then one of the prophets floated an Axe Head, and at another point a Prophet (possibly same) made a dirty well drinkable.
So some practicality might be in order. Jesus's first miracle, after all, was adding vases full of, at risk of blasphemy, Grape Drank to a wedding.

You might try it on something else that is in your way, now that you're interested, maybe something a bit more useful to your spiritual life, or the life of another.

Prophecies are direct revelations from God for all people everywhere. They are already found in Scripture. The prophets are with us in the written Word of God.
You should believe the teachings of the written word, which say things like,

"...covet to prophesy..." and
"Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings."

It's it foolish to believe man's theories about the role of the Bible when they contradict the Bible?

In 1 Corinthians 14:24-25, he's making a hypothetical argument. He isn't suggesting all should actually prophecy; he's just saying that if there were a scenario where everyone either spoke in tongues or prophesied, prophecy would be preferable.

But we know he doesn't mean it literally because of 1 Corinthians 12:29: "Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?" These are rhetorical questions and the answer is obviously no.
Look at 1 Corinthians 14:31
31 For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged.

Look up the Strong's gloss for the word translated 'can' here in this verse

dunamai: to be able, to have power

You're asking God's will be done so long as it conforms to your idea of what He should be doing. At least that's how I'm reading what you've said up to this point. You believe we should accept that everyone who is born again will receive the gift of prophecy. How do you arrive at this conclusion? Is it based on 1 Corinthians 14:1? "Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy."

I don't see in this verse a mandate that all should have the gift of prophecy, only that if a person desires a spiritual gift they should desire prophecy over tongues. The Holy Spirit is still in control of who gets what gifts.

Maybe I'm reading you all wrong, but this is my conclusion after following what you've said so far.
You haven't read Acts 2 yet, have you? All you're talking about is there. Sons, daughters, young & old men, servants & handmaidens. All.

I think this is the question that ResidentAlien is asking, and I will admit my shortcoming on this as well.
There are counterfits in this world, and with technology, ever more counterfits growing.
when you say (counterfeit) + (technology) are we discussing the ability to plant random thoughts into the brain wave sequences that could be mistaken for God?

which then leads to the question, but would those implanted thoughts be encouraging us to Witness about Christ or to invite someone to Church? i could see thoughts that would lead us to be rude and hateful considering those behind the technology would be enemies of God.

I was thinking just searching your FB posts and making a profile, but I guess that seems like it could be a serious problem too.

Yes, all who have the gift of prophecy. There's no way you can make this say they all have the power to prophesy. To do so you have to ignore 1 Corinthians 12:29. Out of curiosity, what is your interpretation of 1 Corinthians 12:29?

Is it possible that God simply gives all these gifts, but in different places and times, or in different "levels" so to speak?
I return to Jesus telling us that we would do Greater things than him.

All who have come to Jesus Yeshua have the Spirit of prophecy, so you need not look too hard.

The Spirit of Prophecy  Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
“the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Amen great point , and something John the Baptist had preached and expounded upon

John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. He must increase, but I must decrease.

He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; ..He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:27-28, 30-

Jesus testimony ( his word his teachkngs and sayings in the gospel ) is Gods pure doctrine for eternal life and his new creation. His testimony we need to accept it’s one of the reasons he was born to teach the truth from heaven

“Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”
‭‭John‬ ‭18:36-37‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus came from heaven and became a man came into our world to speak to us and say “hear me , believe and live I’m speaking Gods word to you “

“And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

… I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him. Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:23-24, 26, 28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He literally challenges us to apply his doctrine

“Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.”
‭‭John‬ ‭7:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

as we learn the gospel we are learning what God truly said will save us what he truly said is eternal Life we’re actually learning who God created us to be before we were deceived in Eden we’re actually learning from God the word from heaven when we hear Jesus and learn from him

It’s why we need to believe in the one God sent because he sent him to speak his words of hope , salvation and eternal life to the world the fisoel is Gods true promise to believers from his own mouth

“Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It has this promise to those who accept it

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭

And holds this judgement for those who reject it

“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12:48-50‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus repeats the same thing many times God sent him to speak his words of eternal life and judgement

eternal Life by his own promise who alone can deliver it , or judgement by his own word apppinted to judge the world in righteousness by the very words he sent into all nations to be wotnessed to all people

“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭17:30-31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

salvstion is free because this doesn’t cost anything and both aspects the blessing and warning are true we should choose salvation freely d if Jesus said it we know God has said it because Jesus is God made flesh and dwelling on earth for a short time telling us

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s simple we believe the account of the four gospels me well
Be saved if we accept and learn and follow after it we don’t have to be complete and perfect we jest have to follow thy ere he leads us through his word as we hear and believe

I usually enjoy your posts, but here it seems like you know nothing about this. It is in the Book plainly written.
What is plainly written is that PROPHECIES SHALL CEASE. And they ceased around 96 AD. So why are your running after more prophecies? The Gospel should be given absolute priority, followed by sound doctrine. And as is quite evident on this and other forums, even these basics are not clearly understood, or acknowledged, or taught. Otherwise there would not be so much spiritual confusion.

prophecy in the sense telling what will happen next month we may never hear

but prophecy in general that Jesus will come is in revelation

I go to church for long time never meet prophet

I don’t think it say the year it cease
i believe prophecy will cease after second coming
at that time we all with Jesus we don’t need Prophecy, healing gift etc
no body sick why need healing gift
we know every thing than why we need it
now we still need prophecy to know what the will of God in my life

prophecy in general on the bible

prophecy to know if Jackson 123 have to move othe country or stay here, not on the bible

And that statement continues:
"For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when the perfect comes, the partial passes away. "

Prophecy will indeed cease, when all is fulfilled.
