Nope, but I don't touch women in an inappropriate way.
Read the verse correctly. "Now for the matters you wrote about: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” 1 Corinthians 7:1

Why? Do you have leprosy? So you don't work in any medical field.
LOL, I'm not touching other women on purpose. I'm not "rubbing shoulders" with any woman other than my wife. And I hope that my wife never lays her hands on another man.

I take it for what it exactly says. Keep your hands off women and you'll never commit fornication. If I never drink alcohol, I'll never become an alcoholic.

Have you noticed it's mostly married people pushing the dating rules on singles.
No , I have not.

They pust rules they never followed.
Seriously?????? They are posting Scripture, John. Jesus followed them pretty well. It is He who is our example (mine at least.)
That statement of yours was a real wiggle-worm.

yet telling singles YOU have to stay pure.
That is correct John. And well they should be because that is what the Bible tells us to do (if we want to see the Lord someday.)

I tell them, I guess Jesus wasn't enough for you, you got married.
You have a badly warped view of marriage. I love you, but I also love those students of yours who you are leading down the wrong path.

You cannot really know the person if you don't date one on one.
I have gotten to know many of my CC friends very well... and I have not been "one -on-one" on any of them.
You cannot really know the person if all you can think about is getting on top of them or getting your hands down their pants.

If you cannot control yourself in those situations, get married.
If you cannot control yourself in those situations, stay away from the ladies entirely. Jesus took this stuff pretty seriously, and so should we.

Matthew 18:8

“Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.”

But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband. 1 Corinthians 7:2

But if they can’t control themselves, they should go ahead and marry. It’s better to marry than to burn with lust. 1 Corinthians 7:9

You are really going against scripture here and pushing some men to burn with lust. Is there no compassion in you? Paul was showing compassion.

Just because someone is a Christian does not mean you should marry them. According to some peoples way of thinking, Adam should have walked away from Eve. She was the one who fell, not him.
Do you really believe just because two people are Christians they are a match?

I am saying you are answerable to God, making excuses to man here on Earth is a waste of time.
Are you saying if a single person just thinks of sex, they have sinned?

I started dating my wife at the age of 35 and she 29. We were all over each
other like Neanderthals; sometimes completely disrobed; but never once
went too far because we both have iron-willed, bullet proof, self control.

If couples can associate together like we did, I say more power to them
because it's very exciting; but like Clint Eastwood's character Dirty Harry
once said: A man's gotta know his limitations.

In other words: playing around like we did would be playing with fire for
some folks, but for us it was just good clean fun.

That was 42+ years ago and we're still together. We don't play around
much anymore because by the time folks reach our age, they've lost a large
percentage of their original libido.

FAQ: What's some good birth controls for senior citizens?

REPLY: Bright lights and nudity.

I agree with what you said, You and your wife were clearly attracted to each other physically before you got married and that's a very good think. Sadly many Christians' call what you did a sin. They call any show of affection a sin. I could do exactly what you did and I did, it was not a sin.

At best, a potential match, if that.
I wouldn't even call it that. There are many Christian women I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. That isn't just because of looks. I met women in church who would not have a tv in their house, afraid the devil might get in. I knew a Christian woman who blamed her husband for the demons entering the house and she had to pray and chant to get them out.

Is there no compassion in you?
Yes. I love them just like Paul did when he said;
“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:” -Hebrews 12:14

Tolerance of sin is not compassion.

Marriage is no magical wand that will deliver a lustful man from his wicked sinful ways.

it's sad you deny the words of Paul. "But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion. " 1 Corinthians 7:9 ........my conversations with you are done.

I want all the new seekers coming onto CC to know that I find the above (if it has not been repented of) to be disturbing, disgusting, and the extreme and complete antithesis of purity and holiness before marriage. God have mercy on CC if this is where we are headed.

I am an old guy...so maybe it is easier for me? But the sex urge is still very strong, maybe not as strong as it was when I was younger. I am writting this in the hopes that it will benefit someone that need the idea that you can overcome the sin of lust and improper use of your body in sex:

For over a year now I have overcome a lifelong sexual sin. That sin took many forms including self sex. No need to elaborate. I am married but still celebate. How is it possible to resist such strong temptations? In my case I just decided that it was offending God. I wanted to stop offending Him. So what happens if you do decide to do something like that. All I can describe is that it is painful, the drive is so strong and doesn't want to be said no to. After that decision I had a very close encounter with God that still is with me. After that I realized that I loved God far more than the sin and could resist it. Something else was added: everytime I had the temptation I had great joy which I think could only be His presence during this temptation. The joy was so great that I looked forward to the temptations which dimished over time. Could I sin in this way again, probably not, because I do love Him so much that it easy to say no to myself. I belong to Him, I am owned by Him.

So what am I suggesting? Become committed to being owned by Him. Everything you are and whatever you will be dedicated to Him. Ask Him for a close loving connection with Him. I have found that when worshipping Him I become nothing and He becomes everything. Once that has happened your view of everthing changes. And being nothing I can tell you that you can be nothing too, just adoring Him and loving Him. Its not just for the Saints, its for you.

I am married but still celebrate.? so no sex with your wife? I will repeat Paul's words "

it is better to marry than to burn 1 Corinthians 7:9 What don't some Christians understand about his words?

Paul addresses the distinction between the married and the unmarried and states that sexual fulfillment is a primary reason for marriage: GOD enjoys couples having sex, he created it. Read the Song of Solomon. Do you really want to miss out on that?

Nowhere in Paul's' words is it about being closer to GOD or being more holy. He says neither is above the other..
