God has put these scriptures in my heart for a reason. I look around to figger out what that reason could be, and I see good faithful brothers and sisters being conned into believing the enemy of their enemy is their friend. And in doing so, they are marching in lock-step away from the Truths of God outlined in the second list.

I'm always open to the idea that I could be wrong, so in another thread I asked if those scriptures don't apply as I see it, how then do they apply? Other than 2 people who have stated they don't apply to us at all, no one has anything to offer me as an alternative.

And that's so typical of the right. Always taking a stand against other's answers, while offering none of their own.

I know this is how it has to be. God has said that many will turn from Him following false prophets. I know I'm not going to stop that. But if I can get just one to see what is happening and repent, then at least for that one it is worth it. The rest I sorrow for, wishing I could have found a way to enlighten them.

Ephphatha!

And sure enough, the END OF THE AGE and the return of Christ will occur ON SCHEDULE, regardless of all the Eschatalogical foolishness and constant confusion.

And WHEN HE COMES, those of us who are Born Again of the Spirit, will simply respond properly, and the only ones who will be "Lost" are the ones who were never "IN" the "Flock" to begin with. You DO recall that the "Visible Church is a MIXTURE of "Wheat and Tares" don't you??
If you don't care for the discussion, why are you here? It's a big forum...

It's not the voting. I support voting, I just don't believe that voting for the lesser sin is a valid excuse for exercising. We just don't have a Godly moral candidate to vote for. I mean, we get to choose between:

Immorality
Enablement
Abdication of personal responsibility (which includes abortion)
Poly theism or atheism

or

Mammon worship
Self Idolatry
abandonment of the poor and sick
Cheating workers
lies and hypocrisy.

You can't tell me God supports either of these lists.

So neither should we.
Perhaps you should read the story of the unjust steward or the warnings Jesus gives people concerning how to deal in this world of sin.
You make an assumption that someone is fooled simply because they vote for one side or another. Why is that the case?
Under which party will your economic conditions be better?
Under which party will your religious freedoms be respected?
Read Luke 16. ...for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light...

I would add that your children wouldn't be brain washed. That millions of people wouldn't be invading your borders and bringing fentyl to our children . That inflation wouldn't be so high you can't afford to eat, fuel your car or heat your home. That abortion would have limits. That there wouldn't be so much crime you're feared for your life and your childrens. Just a few reasons, I can think of more.

Just to remind folks that "Eschatology" is just another word for "Rank Speculation" which has been demonstrated (and practiced) by the church for millennia.

Against his enemies?! No, against the corrupt Dems.!!! Unbelievable!!! Biden should have been impeached 10x already. You better believe I'm gonna stand against them, on this forum and anywhere else I have a voice. What they are doing to this country is disgusting, as a Christian, I don't see how you can support it. smh
i am totally disinterested in worldly secular politics.
this is a marked difference between you & i
you're sucked in; i'm checked out.

IMO it is clear Trump is a false messiah, a completely vain, power-seeking, pattern liar; a worldly man making merchandise of Christendom in order to make himself - an extremely rich man - even richer, at the expense of you. yes, exactly you, the impressionable person believing his own fake news, drawing away actual believers from actual Christianity into a very dangerous nationalism. he has bought you.
he is the one who is still trying to 'steal an election' that he very factually lost, cleverly using politics of fear and hatred -- the facts are very clear, but the conspiracy theories are never based in actual fact. the conspiracies are based in innuendo that persuade the ignorant; in emotion rather than truth.

you'll forgive me if i ignore all your posts and the rest of this thread. it's frankly BS.
it's clearly BS to any outside observer, ant those who think otherwise are willfully blind.

i have actual spiritual things to think about, and very little time to spend on the forum.

as i see it, this whole conversation is worthless and quite potentially sinful.

have a nice day

Oh, I thought it was to fulfill 2 Peter 3:3

Definition of Scoff -- speak to someone or about something in a scornfully derisive or mocking way.

For example: "Eschatology is just another word for rank speculation"

That's not what I said. Read the passage. It isn't concerning worldly wisdom vs spiritual wisdom. It's about applying wisdom to all of life.

One of the nice things about a forum is you don't have to participate in discussions you have no interest in.

And responding to a concern the Holy Spirit has laid on someone's heart by calling it sinful? Hmmmm... sounds kinda like another group who called the work of the Holy Spirit a fraud.

The truth is, believers WILL fall away. God said it, Jesus said it. I don't see how being concerned for those who fall away is wrong.

But again, you're welcome to your opinion, and you're most welcome to not participate.

Luke 16:

The Parable of the Shrewd Manager

1Jesus also said to His disciples, “There was a rich man whose manager was accused of wasting his possessions. 2So he called him in to ask, ‘What is this I hear about you? Turn in an account of your management, for you cannot be manager any longer.’

3The manager said to himself, ‘What shall I do, now that my master is taking away my position? I am too weak to dig and too ashamed to beg. 4I know what I will do, so that after my removal from management, people will welcome me into their homes.’

5And he called in each one of his master’s debtors. ‘How much do you owe my master?’ he asked the first.

6‘A hundred measures of olive oil,’a he answered.

‘Take your bill,’ said the manager. ‘Sit down quickly, and write fifty.’

7Then he asked another, ‘And how much do you owe?’

‘A hundred measures of wheat,’b he replied.

‘Take your bill and write eighty,’ he told him.

8The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the sons of this age are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the sons of light. 9I tell you, use worldly wealth to make friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, they will welcome you into eternal dwellings.

10Whoever is faithful with very little will also be faithful with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11So if you have not been faithful with worldly wealth, who will entrust you with true riches? 12And if you have not been faithful with the belongings of another, who will give you belongings of your own?

13No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
*
Yes, the story of a corrupt manager who by corruption made a way to care for himself in the world when his master fires him.

Corruption is a worldly virtue, not a heavenly one.

God makes that clear in the end by saying you cannot serve both mammon (which is of the world) and God. This manager clearly served mammon.

Kinda confirms one point I am trying to make, doesn't it? That you cannot serve both those who worship mammon and God? And if those who were Godly turn to worship mammon, they have turned away from God..?
*
And again, I ask yet another time, if I am mis-applying the scriptures that say His people will be deceived and turn from Him, how then do those scriptures apply?

STILL haven't got an answer to that one. Plenty of dismissals, but no alternate answer.

Truth is only available to those who are willing to question what they think they know, yet I am the only one willing to question it.

Kinda puts truth in my corner now, doesn't it?

No. I already stated I am not against voting.

I am saying we do not have a truly Godly choice to vote for, and that by voting for the perceived lesser evil, we are still voting for evil.

And that by voting for evil, we are turning away from God.

It's not the voting I am against, it's the choices we are being given to vote for.

I just disagree with the premise that by voting either way is evil.
To satisfy my curiosity...who in your opinion is an example of someone you would vote for?

Well, I haven't voted red or blue since Ross Perot. I usually vote a third party candidate to register a tick in the "none of the above" column.

The problem is, I think, the world is going to march right into the hands of the antichrist. And that's not going to happen by the world offering us righteous people to vote for.

That's the catch-22. We should vote for truly righteous people, but there are none to vote for.

You've made clear your position and even your zeal. And given your understanding I think it would be sinful for you to choose to vote otherwise. But because I know that one party winning will bring harm to people and even death, my conscience would hold me accountable if I did nothing.
We have a shared passion and zeal for people. We merely disagree on tactics.

Under which party will your economic conditions be better?
Under which party will your religious freedoms be respected?
Question... are you voting for YOUR economic interests, or God's?

God's economic interests are:

Not hording riches
Supporting the sick, the poor, and the foreigner (but not the lazy)
Treating workers fairly
saving up treasure in heaven, not the world.

Are you voting for YOUR religious freedom, or God's?

God says about our religious freedom:

We will be hauled away, jailed, and killed for our faith as a witness and testimony of Him.

I would dare venture a guess that God's interests are opposite of the interests of the world.
