So my question is this : what do you guys think of John and/or Grace Church/Ministries?
As others have already pointed out, it is best to avoid listening to John MacArthur. There are just too many issues.

All good information on these posts. I heard of JM but as of yet had not investigated. These posts cover most if not all that needs to be known about JM. The person I heard referring to JM is Jimmy Brown of Grace & Truth Ministries in Hendersonville, Tn. Jimmy claims to be the only person telling the whole truth and states that JM is a close 2nd. I have tried to talk with Jimmy on the phone twice. And one time after sending him a contribution I received a package and a note from his wife that I should only contact her. Jimmy has pre recorded video broadcasts in my area and they often have him saying, "call and talk to me". Go figure

Hello and good day to you, Malcolm! :) I am not a fan of Johnny Mac...though I am not
completely averse to listening to his program if he happens to come on the radio while
I have it on. For many years, he has been a regular teacher on kari55 radio, which is also
available online. I used to listen to that station even while at work (I am now retired :)),
and my car radio is dialed into it also :D
I don't remember even turning on my car radio. I hit the power button, right? :)

John McArthur denies the blood on the cross.I'm sure there's youtube videos on it.I actually have a John Mcarthur bible with commentaries on it and he flat out denies the blood.A little bit of leaven leavens the whole lump. He's a wolf.

MacArthur teaches it wasn't the blood of Christ that atoned for sins but His death alone, but he hasn't really thought this through. It has many problems, not the least of which is Hebrews 9:22, "and without shedding of blood there is no remission."

Both of you are WRONG _____

Be careful who you listen to FOLKS ----

Hi, this is John MacArthur and recently we’ve had a lot of questions from listeners about what I believe on the blood of Christ, and I thought it might be helpful to just put together some excerpts from sermons preached through the years that’ll help you to understand where I stand. And to say in general very simply that I affirm everything the Scripture teaches about the blood of Christ seems very basic. You know me well enough to know that I believe the Bible from front to back, cover to cover. As one little boy said, “From Geniuses to Revolution.” There’s no point in the Bible that I don’t accept totally, and I believe it literally in every part.

For some strange reason people have accused me of denying the blood of Christ, which is not so. I affirm that a literal Jesus Christ who was man in every respect, one hundred percent man yet God incarnate, died on the cross, shed His literal blood as a sacrifice for sin. And I believe that, and I believe that it was that sacrificial death of Christ on the cross that atoned for the sins of man, and those who believe appropriate that atonement and receive eternal life through His death and resurrection, and that’s historic Christian theology

MacArthur teaches that there's nothing inherently special about the blood of Jesus. It wasn't divine blood; it wasn't God's blood; it was simply human blood and when it was spilled on Calvary it was only a symbol of His death, which actually saves us.

Now, think about this. First it goes against common sense, and second it goes against the scripture. Jesus was begotten by God. His bloodline was from God, not Mary. If He was wholly man and wholly God how could His blood not also be divine? Acts 20:28 says: "Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood."

MacArthur needs to go back to Bible kindergarten.

...died on the cross, shed His literal blood as a sacrifice for sin. And I believe that, and I believe that it was that sacrificial death of Christ on the cross that atoned for the sins of man...
Quoting MacArthur did everyone notice the subtle shift from "blood as a sacrifice" to "sacrificial death"?

MacArthur should have immediately focused on the blood of Christ for the remission of sins and the establishment of the New Covenant, since that was the real issue. Christ purchased the Church with His own blood. So MacArthur could have immediately quoted all the Scriptures which speak of the blood of Christ. The "sacrificial death" was a given. And a preacher as well-known as MacArthur has absolutely no excuse for his subtle shift. That is dishonest.

REMISSION OF SINS, REDEMPTION, RECONCILIATION, JUSTIFICATION, SANCTIFICATION, THE NEW COVENANT, AND THE PURCHASE OF THE CHURCH ARE THROUGH THE BLOOD OF CHRIST.
For this is my blood of the New Testament [Covenant], which is shed for many for the remission of sins. (Mt 26:28)
And he said unto them, This is my blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many. (Mk 14:24)
Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the New Testament in my blood, which is shed for you. (Lk 22:20)
Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. (Jn 6:53-56)
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. (Acts 20:28)
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God (Rom 3:25)
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. (Rom 5:9)
After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the New Testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. (1 Cor 11:25)
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace (Eph 1:7)
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. (Eph 2:13)
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: (Col 1:14)
And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. (Col 1:20)
Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us... How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Heb 9:12,14)
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission...(Heb 9:22)
For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus...
(Heb 9:24-26; 10:19)
Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate (Heb 13:12)
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant (Heb 13:20)
Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. (1 Pet 1:2)
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: (1 Pet 1:18,19)
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (1 Jn 1:7)
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood (Rev 1:5)
And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation (Rev 5:9)
And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. (Rev 7:14)

Wow! Thanks for your opinions on John MacArthur everyone! I also have noticed that he's a little too glib (smooth talking?) and it's easy to be impressed by that side of his eloquence/mastery of using and manipulating words etc to be taken in! I'll keep all your responses in mind as I continue on my quest to find a simple yet truly annointed preacher to listen to online! Stay blessed you guys!

LOL ---picky --picky ---nag --nag---natter natter -----

Did everyone notice Nehemiah6 ---trying to take what John MacArthur said and twist to suit what he wants it to say ----and you are showing your ignorance here because Jesus death was a sacrificial death as well as an atonement for our sins -----

I just posted some of this --read all for yourselves ----

http://www.abideinchrist.com/keys/sacrificejesus.html

SACRIFICAL DEATH OF JESUS CHRIST

The wholenement process of salvation is ascribed in the New Testament to the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. It is upon the moment of death that the foundation of salvation is totally focused. The work of salvation was completed when Jesus cried, “It is finished!” Nothing more needed to be done.

The sacrifice of Jesus Christ was a substitutionary sacrifice and atonement for sin. . Christ endured the divine wrath for all that His people ought to have suffered as a result of sin. “Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect?” Not God because He has justified the believing sinner for the reason that Christ died in his place and suffered his punishment.

The sacrifice of Jesus was the perfect sacrifice and supplanted the Old Testament sacrificial system.

THE SACRIFICE OF JESUS
The death of Jesus Christ is seen in the New Testament as the fulfillment of all that was prefigured by the Old Testament sacrificial system. The sacrifices were typical of the vastly superior sacrifice of Jesus.

Article #2 -----read all for yourselves

https://www.gotquestions.org/Jesus-real-sacrifice.html

Christianity teaches that God, in human form, lowered Himself to being humiliated and murdered by His own creations. That sacrificial death opened a path to salvation for anyone and everyone who trusts in Jesus Christ.

Hello amigo. I dont follow john MacArthur, i did listen to part of one his sermons. In all honesty, most of the tv pastor's, motivation speakers are devoid of holy spirit. They think they have the holy spirit. For lot of preachers its money gimmick. The rapture theory is a lie and God hates it. A lot of preachers are not preparing their flocks for antichrist, they don't have gospel armory on, they lack knowledge. Jeremiah 23:1. Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture! Says the Lord. 23:4. And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them; Jesus is sick and tired of the false preachers. The fleecing, the lying, and misrepresentation of God's word. Judgement day is coming near future, Jesus is coming to clean house. These shepherds that God will set up are Gods election.. Their priests, and they won't bend to anyone. God will install honest, fair judges and ministers. At 7th trump, Jesus and the election take over, this starts the 1,000 year millennium, were in our spirtual bodys. Jesus is fed up with the false preachers. Do you understand. Isaiah 64:9. And I will bring fourth seed out of Jacob, and out of judah and an inheritor of My mountains: and MINE ELECT shall inherit it, and My servants shall dwell their. The only ones on that mountain is Jesus and the Election. The rest of the spirtualty dead people will be taught during millennium.
