My name is Stephen and I identify as a 37 y/o Southern Baptist who loves to share the Holy Trinity. I made a promise to at the least once a day go to my knees and pray to him. My Faith is strong and my Soul is at peace through the love of Jesus Christ.
I was raised in a Southern Baptist Church with an daily high attendance of 30-40. My father was a deacon and my grand father was a deep Southern Pastor, my father later became a pastor. The congregation went through a rough patch and my father preached from our front room till the Church aligned back up with Biblical Scripture.
I served in Afghanistan in 2009. I was seriously injured in Oct of ‘09 and woke up from a month in a coma. Happened in a blink of the eye for me but my family said it was the hardest month they have ever lived through. My wife was presented my Awards and Medals, I was not expected to live but if I did I would be mentally slow, to say it nice, would be in a wheel chair likely my whole life.
God said Nah, I got plans for this one and has blessed me with the ability to walk and think, there is pain and struggles but I thank God for them.
I enjoy watching Billy Graham’s old sermons. Try to listen to at the least one a day through the work week. I am 100% disabled so I live off the government through the VA, so I only get a raise when a bunch of R’s and D’s agree on it in Washington…
I have two Children. Little girl is my princess and my son is very knowledgeable of the Bible.
I feel I may become a pastor soon, I fear many “Christian’s” are not truly Christian but they are luke warm. God has opened my eyes, I thought I was a Christian but since the IED blast, I have had my eyes open to what a true Christian looks like.

Thank you for your time with Love and God Bless

Glad the Lord saved your life Stephen.
Feel free to fill us in any time. That's quite a testimony.

I doubt if Facebook approves of your gender identity, but Christian Chat has no rules against identifying as a married man who is Southern Baptist, as far as I know.
Those in the know can correct me if I'm wrong.

As far as identifying as a southern baptist... I'm really at a loss here.

I don't even know what pronouns to use for that.

My apologies, @Stephen777 .

My humor is a bit offbeat, and I was joking about social wokeness, certainly not about you!

Thank you for your heartfelt testimony and we're looking forward to seeing you around the forum. Welcome to CC!

Hope you'll dive right in and join any discussions that catch your interest. 🙂

Since the term has become so popular lately, I started using it too. I figured Stephen was using a little bit of Baptist humor.
I identify as a straight masculine male if I run into anyone who's curious. 😄

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I am not a fan of this new age of “woke”? I am saddened by the fact over $150k tax dollars went to drag queen contests and educating people, including children, about it. I also do not attack people who participate in “sex changes, trans, etc” but I can not support it. My personal feeling is if you feel like you was suppose to be born the opposite sex, then that is a challenge you refuse to face. I am usually very strait forward about my feelings lol But I am at peace in my life so never take anything I ever say as aggressive in meaning.

That's right, depending on when the Mods get to it, so unless it didn't pass 'the standards' you'll see it when they've gotten to it.

Thank you for that link and it is very well wrote out showing you can challenge it against the Word, and it is good :)
I have always considered myself just a Southern Baptist. If the teachings are straight out of the Book, I give my ear.
May God bless you with his wisdom and your eyes be opened 🙏
