I am a seeker of Biblical truth. I have pursued multiple paths/religions over the years including: Roman Catholicism, Wesleyan theology, Episcopal/Anglican teachings, the Baptists, and Independent Bible Churches. They all claimed to have the truth, they all have their own version of the truth. God says there’s one truth. That is my pursuit, God’s truth.

Your pursuit is JESUS. He is the truth, we all do our best according to limited human abilities [+ the Holy Ghost] to share what He has given us.

I've read the bible every day for 45 years, I'm still learning, it's always fresh, like bread straight from the bakery.

All this is yours too just for the asking.

Now understand this is just me, as my circumstance is one personal as to why I choose this path for truth. First, though it might be very difficult for others to imagine, I have absolutely no idea whatsoever how to intermix with society simply due to the condition a form of childhood abuse left me in, in accordance with my natural abilities or inabilities to cope of course. That said, I too attempted various denominational gatherings and encountered strong wills concerning denominational beliefs that often were on the verge of our way or the highway kind of thinking which I also couldn't cope with. Now again I stress my reaction is my own and not necessarily one any others ought to engage in. But truth was something I needed oh so badly in that that abuse left me in such a lost condition that I had no idea what reality ought to be, especially in relationship to how to interact in society, and perhaps much worse any idea how to see myself as anything other than being worthless. So when I read what Jesus spoke about sending the Holy Spirit to teach us all things, I took Jesus' word on that and prayed for God to teach me His truths outside of all the denominational influences, for frankly any error involved in this would be only my own at that point. For the next three years I read every book of the Bible and once finishing any book, I went back and reread that book again; admittedly intermingled with some Biblically based books written by authors that intrigued me. And that practice continued through the years where I couldn't wait to get up each morning and dive into the Word, literally copying and then pasting each line of scripture so as to first edit out all the "help" so I was forced to read each verse individually before going back and studying the entire chapter, interjecting my thoughts as the Spirit of God guided me. For you see, in a very real way the Holy Spirit was my only real friend so to speak and I loved that sensation of that close relationship with God. It very likely saved my life here while still in the body, of course as well my eternal life.

A big hardy welcome from one life-long seeker to another. Keep up the chase, let nothing turn you away from the search. The journey is joyous. There will be some who will tell you to just believe and leave it there. For some, that is just not enough. Some saints throughout history have been seekers. They found treasures but not the end. God love us too.

Your words are very encouraging and I hope the Scriptures continue to be a comfort to you. My journey to this point has been on a very different road, however it has this in common with yours, both paths have taken us from darkness into the light. Each day, so that I will never forget I read and give praise to God for this journey, knowing He has intervened all along the way (Lamentations 3:22-23).
God’s Spirit has likewise led me on this journey and pursuit of truth. I stopped trying to rationalize the different teachings I absorbed over the years and prayed that I could block out those teachings and asked God to show me His truth. No longer did I try to fit Scriptures to support what I already “knew”. I read and re-read the Bible over the years and allowed God’s word to teach me. The lights began coming on and as I am being educated in what God’s teaching’s truly are and what the Bible itself was communicating. God’s doctrines vs man’s doctrines. It’s a great journey.

Good for you! You are wise. (y)

1 Kings 19:
11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?

The Lord cannot be found in Religion, but only in a personal relationship. He is knocking at your heart's door today...

Revelation 3:
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Welcome and God bless you. :)
