I find this video depicting 1000 years of war in 5 minutes, starting from the year 1000 AD, to be an interesting illustration of the world's progression toward a grand finale.

Mat 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

The whole world has almost recieved the gospel.
It received the gospel of grace that Paul preached back in his day. Romans 16:15-16, Colossians 1:5-6, 23. In Matthew, it's talking about the gospel of the kingdom when the Lord will return as King of kings. That gospel will be preached in the tribulation.

We have been living in the last days since Jesus ascended into heaven.
True. Really the thread is targeting the termination point of these "last times", "last days".

Act 2:17
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

2Ti 3:1
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

Heb 1:2
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Jas 5:3
Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

2Pe 3:3
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

1Pe 1:20
Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

Jde 1:18
How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

1Jo 2:18
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

The signs are happening almost daily now.

Say, for instance, in the 80's or 90's or even as early as the 00's, the idea of the end times was known.... but didn't really feel like we were actually living in them or "there yet".

Today to a discerning follower of Jesus Christ and the Bible, and to one who is even slightly aware of eschatology, it is unmistakable and undeniable.

I don't know about anyone else, but I can feel the spirit of the end times all around. "Normies" are even starting to take notice. And I truly believe the Tribulation will begin within the next decade it's that close.
I agree that the end of the world could be very close. We don't know yet, but we do need to be on the lookout.

Hello Joe! Perhaps the most important thing is to be ready. To be faithful in encouraging others and meeting together with other believers. Blessed is the servant who is doing his Master's work when he returns (Luke 12:43). God Bless You :)

Just a friendly aside, some commentators linked the six days of creation to the six thousand years of human history. God rested on the seventh day and the seventh thousand years- the millennium. I don't know if it's true or not, but it's perhaps an interesting thought. God Bless You :)
IIPet3:8 2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

6000 years for man to labor under the influence of Satan, then a Sabbath, the Millennium under the rule of Jesus Christ and the saints. There is much more to be said about this with many scriptures to back it up but my time is limited right now.

Everything is driven by time since creation and that time is almost upon us for the Sabbath rest

yes. i know Christians & atheists who doubt we're living in the last days. they never experienced anything like it so they have nothing stored in their subjective or objective minds nor their conditioned response.

For sure, we're closer today than we were in 1900 (or yesterday for that matter).

The whole world has almost received the gospel.
Or, said another way, the whole world has received the almost gospel .:giggle:

For in so many days the world was made, in so many thousand years shall it be concluded. Irenaeus, taught by Polycarp a hearer of Apostle John

Attend, my children, to the meaning of this expression, He finished in six days. This implies that the Lord will finish all things in six thousand years, for a day is with Him a thousand years. And He Himself testifies, saying, Behold, today will be as a thousand years. Therefore, my children, in six days, that is, in six thousand years, all things will be finished. And He rested on the seventh day. This means: when His Son, coming [again], shall destroy the time of the wicked man, and judge the ungodly, and change the-sun, and the moon, and the stars, then shall He truly rest on the seventh day. Barnabas--named an apostle in Acts 14
