What is Scientology?

The short answer is that it is a cult, but goes by the name of "the Church of Scientology". Many Hollywood celebrities such as Tom Cruise, Leah Remini, and John Travolta have been associated with this cult. But they are not shy to tell the world what they believe. WHAT IS SCIENTOLOGY?
Developed by L. Ron Hubbard, Scientology is a religion that offers a precise path leading to a complete and certain understanding of one’s true spiritual nature and one’s relationship to self, family, groups, Mankind, all life forms, the material universe, the spiritual universe and the Supreme Being.

Scientology addresses the spirit—not the body or mind—and believes that Man is far more than a product of his environment, or his genes.

Scientology comprises a body of knowledge which extends from certain fundamental truths. Prime among these are:

Man is an immortal spiritual being.

His experience extends well beyond a single lifetime.

His capabilities are unlimited, even if not presently realized.

Scientology further holds Man to be basically good, and that his spiritual salvation depends upon himself, his fellows and his attainment of brotherhood with the universe.

Scientology is not a dogmatic religion in which one is asked to accept anything on faith alone. On the contrary, one discovers for oneself that the principles of Scientology are true by applying its principles and observing or experiencing the results.

The ultimate goal of Scientology is true spiritual enlightenment and freedom for all.

THE CREED OF THE CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY
The Creed of the Church of Scientology was written by L. Ron Hubbard shortly after the Church was formed in Los Angeles on February 18, 1954.

After Mr. Hubbard issued this creed from his office in Phoenix, Arizona, the Church of Scientology adopted it as its creed because it succinctly states what Scientologists believe.
We of the Church believe

That all men of whatever race, color or creed were created with equal rights.

That all men have inalienable rights to their own religious practices and their performance.

That all men have inalienable rights to their own lives.

That all men have inalienable rights to their sanity.

That all men have inalienable rights to their own defense.

That all men have inalienable rights to conceive, choose, assist or support their own organizations, churches and governments.

That all men have inalienable rights to think freely, to talk freely, to write freely their own opinions and to counter or utter or write upon the opinions of others.

That all men have inalienable rights to the creation of their own kind.

That the souls of men have the rights of men.

That the study of the Mind and the healing of mentally caused ills should not be alienated from religion or condoned in nonreligious fields.

And that no agency less than God has the power to suspend or set aside these rights, overtly or covertly.

And we of the Church believe

That Man is basically good.

That he is seeking to Survive.

That his survival depends upon himself and upon his fellows and his attainment of brotherhood with the Universe.

And we of the Church believe that the laws of God forbid Man

To destroy his own kind.

To destroy the sanity of another.

To destroy or enslave another’s soul.

To destroy or reduce the survival of one’s companions or one’s group.

And we of the Church believe

That the spirit can be saved.

And that the spirit alone may save or heal the body.

It is obvious that this is a man-made religion in which man is his own savior.

Just one of many false religions

One of my clients was in this organization and while the going was good they were all smiles, but then like with all worldly systems the deceit and infighting started and they were kicked out unceremoniously without blinking an eye...

Then comes the schisms.......inevitable. The Bible is true though every man be false..

The only way Scientology is what it is today is because of its tax-exempt status. They obtained it through a years-long campaign of harassment of IRS employees and an avalanche of lawsuits against the IRS. The IRS finally caved to make it all go away. This is standard operating procedure for Scientology.

L. Ron Hubbard had to go into hiding in the early '70s because of mounting legal problems; fraud being one of them. He stayed on the run and in hiding until his death in 1986. Yep, sounds like the kind of guy I would trust.

I think a lot of celebrities stay with Scientology because if they quit it would ruin their careers. John Travolta credits Scientology for his early break into show business. If he quit, his "good luck" might come to an end. Besides that, through "auditing," Scientology knows all of a person's deepest darkest secrets, which they can use against a person whenever they want.

In th elate 1960's I was given to share the Word with several Scientologists. They came back at me with their beliefs.
They believe they are from a planet called, Markab.
They believe they are encarnated here to be purified to return to Makab, and that earth is a penal colony.
They have made up their own clumsy language from languages around the world. It is quite enfanti.e, for excample, a chore would be a doingness. The past participle of any verb may be made into their language by adding the suffix, ness, converting the past participle into a noun........ridiculous.
I believe they are outside and expelled from their own will and knowledge.
There are many more features of these people but it is too ridiculous to repeat.

I know Leah Remini left scientology, wrote a book, "Troublemaker" and did a show on it called "Scientology and the Aftermath". It was all pretty interesting.

I do know where the local outlet of that is in Seattle, it's down by Westlake Center, near the Battle of Seattle Starbucks, all the high fashion clothing stores, Pacific Place 11 theatre and the "gangland McDonald's" a McD in town which for a reason I can't fathom has the highest number of shootings connected with it than any business in the city, according to a survey of the Seattle Times Archive. Maybe it's a high point on the map of "Battlefield Earth".
