Just wait until the fruit trees and vines begin producing....then we will have schnapps and wine and brandy. It is going to be a fruit and nut farm after all. Until then we get craft beers.

Oh, we already know it's one big nut farm!

Just wait 'til the rest of us come to visit.

You'll have an entire... Uh... What are nuts considered to grown in... Just a field... or farm... or would it be a nut orchard?

Either way, there will be plenty of 'em, rest assured.

One of those things I should have mentioned....

BE CAREFUL WITH PESTICIDES. Dead puppies and kittens aren't much fun.

Pets are wonderful...but follow the instructions on pesticides. And keep your pets away from chemically treated areas until the guidelines say it's safe. I use one that you put down just before it rains and after it rains it is safe. (Cats came with my house)

Also....some of that advice on YouTube and blogs is worthless. Especially all that "save the planet/environmental friendly " junk. I'm much more into saving my sanity and marriage than saving the planet. (If you don't save your marriage you won't have a house anymore)

Those bug zappers that electrocute flying bugs....don't put them on the porch. Put them far away from places you hang around outside at night. That light attracts the bugs but most don't fly into the electricity....some do and it's satisfying to watch...but many more find the food beforehand (you) and forget all about that light.

Mulch in the flower beds always stinks....it's not a pleasant smell. The smell goes away in a week or so to the point you can stand it....but don't put down fresh mulch the day of or before a backyard barbecue party. You won't like the result. (I personally like real redwood mulch...it has a natural effect of repulsing bugs)

Call an electrician if you need electrical work done! Yes I know that it seems easy enough...but it is a LOT more complicated than the average person understands... hot wires look just like cold ones. The number of DEADLY mistakes with electricity outnumber gun deaths every year. or baking

Plumbing is your newest hobby!
You need to learn to change toilet flappers and sink faucets in an hour. Meaning you need to become good at it. The repair bills otherwise are horrendous. If it involves anything more than that...call a plumber! Bad things happen if you move a sewer line or drain line or even water supply lines and you don't have a professional level understanding.
I hate Plumbing but I hate plumbers more....they are always running pipe right where I as a professional electrician need to run electricity. So I've learned about vents and soldering and the various valves and etc....don't be me on this one.

Yes please be careful with the man made stuff it kills even the beneficial's (bee's) ,,,,,,,,,,,

ps if you take the weed killer your trying and put it in a sandwich bag then stick the end of the vine in the sandwich bag and use a bread tie to hang it from something the vine will take up the liquid into the vine and eventual kill the root. Think PH, if the vine likes a PH of 6.5 change it to something it don't like with either vinegar or baking soda(natural stuff).

Those thorny vines are something else!
My Father-in-law told me that they have a bulb in the ground that supports them and that I need to dig that bulb up if I really wanted to kill it.
So I started to do so yesterday and dug up something like over 100 lbs of bulbs in a tiny space of 3x5'. I've grown potatoes that didn't have near as many bulbs in Idaho. My Father-in-law was shocked too....apparently nobody has tried in years to kill these things. They literally created a mound in the dirt because they were so numerous and tightly packed.

But I might try what you are suggesting....see if it works or if I end up having plastic bags in the trees.

Everyone knows that this house is bought came with pets....predominantly 2 cats. Although by their attitudes you would think that we are their pets. (Such is the norm for cats and why I'm a dog person and not so much a cat person)

But....
Since we have been caring for these cats....feeding and watering we are VERY careful about not feeding them too much. We put out enough food for them to eat at one sitting and no more.
But always plenty of fresh water.

So....

Today I met Rocky.....as in Rocky Racoon. He got into the cats water dish and drank it dry. (Food was long gone already) Our guard cat Teddy was busy hiding under the deck. Bread is the more aggressive cat and is always up for a fight or hunt....he was nowhere to be seen. Off on another adventure I'm guessing.

All the "deterrents" for Racoon are going b to deter me as well and are anything but pleasant smelling. (Garlic, vinegar, and pepper)

I could put out a trap but I'm afraid I'd only catch a cat.

That's why it's so much better out here in the county. If you live in the city you have to put up with that crap. Out here in the county they can roll that stuff up into a singularity point and cram it in a neutron star (also known as a black hole.)

Yeah....my house is 130 years old and anyone mentioning HOA around here is likely going to find themselves treated to some "southern hospitality"....with out the "ity". Just saying....
