You haven't done your homework by reading the whole chapter. Jezebel killed the prophets of God; she didn't cause them to defect.

Prophets don't call themselves "Prophets" People who have seen the work of God call them one.

Because prophets know already what God has called them to and don't need a title. They just do the will of God and the work of one.

Jesus sat at a well and told a woman everything she ever did. She perceived HE was a Prophet, and Jesus was and is far more than that. Jesus did not call himself a Prophet to the woman she did. He confirms to her HE is the Christ.
