Yeah, they ain’t using halibut for fish and chips here either
It is offered here and is often more expensive, but I prefer the taste, texture, and moistness of cod...

@seoulsearch , ha, I did not really know cod had tongues either.

Not something you really think about, yeah?

Off with their heads, fins, and tails! Gut, and then, ya eat the rest.

Now I'm wondering about whale tongues. I mean, you can actually see those!

One of them could probably feed a small village .

Over here frying fish heads is a big thing. Also they are frying sheep’s heads.

They call that sheep’s head thing “Smalahove”.

Speaking of sheep's heads and meatloaf reminds me of haggis, although it is supposedly made with the
liver, heart, and lungs (some also say tongue) of a sheep. Oy. I doubt I will ever venture to try such a... dish.

But that is what our ancestors ate.😂

"Catfish is the roach of the river" is my line. Are you copying from me or have you always had this opinion of catfish? If you have always had this opinion, why did you let me pressure you into trying catfish when you were here? I wondered why you had such a diffident reaction. Usually people love catfish. I'm not too big on it myself, but I thought it was worth a shot to get you to try it. If you have always thought that about catfish, my apologies.

No, I'm not copying from you. Knowing that catfish are bottom feeders isn't classified pr copyrighted information!

I've always read/heard/been told that catfish and shrimp aren't good to eat because like pigs, they eat all kinds of unsavory things and are not considered very sanitary for consumption.

But, that doesn't mean I can't at least try them. I sometimes eat shrimp, and tried the catfish because I was curious. I think I've had it before, but wondered if it was any better in the South, where it seemed to be so much more revered than where I grew up in the North.

And I thought it was ok. Not bad, but not something I'd order again by choice, but I wanted to be able to say I at least gave it a shot, and from a real Southern diner.

I'm a fan on sauteed ground beef...can be seasoned various ways and goes well with rice or pasta.

Meat-Loathe? That is on par with the EGG/NOT. How do you come up with these amusing words? You are extremely amusing and witty that's for sure. :)

Lynx, if you ARE able to dig up this thread (there are probably a few of them floating around in the Great Abyss of Threads Past,) I wonder if it will be the one in which I think there was someone utterly exasperated by the fact that we managed to have a multi-page thread jut about meatloaf.

And... Looks like we're done fixin' to do it all over again!!! :geek::LOL::cool:

I still think of you whenever someone has some strange new way in which they eat bread  (often it is because of something my 10 year old does)
