I am getting sick a lot these days, my health is going downhill as never before.

When I become ill, I also feel great depression, black pressures oppressing me, a hopelessness that takes away my strength. After time, treatment and much fervent prayer, I come through, feel better for a while, my mind feels light as my body is released from pain, until another problem gets me. The cycle repeats.

So from a Christian view, is disease essentially of the devil, sent to oppress us? Then through payer Jesus heals us. He being all about healing, light and life, sent to save us from the darkness.

That's how it seems to me, but what do others think?

Sin cracks the door of His protection open letting him in who only desires to steal, kill and destroy.
Thus we can stay rather in obedience and experience Divine health. Jesus was born up, lest He dash His foot.

We must take everything to Him first, so please do this as well.
I am understanding that the amount of vitamin C we can use is limited by the amount
of the carrier of vitamin C in the blood stream, liposomal C has it's own carrier thus one can achieve a level similar to an IV drip, from what I have read.:)(y)

yes, easily they are. people never seem to learn that you can get physically sick by ingesting sinful information, speaking about it & acting on it. anything negative, bad, wrong, pessimistic & sinful causes any kind of sickness. & don't forget the generational sickness issue.

The people I know who get seriously sick (myself included) has to do more with overdoing it and stress imo. If you don't listen to your body, it will make you listen.

I get the fever nightmares and all that as well. I think demons kick you when you're down, but are not necessarily causing it. You can take back control. In fact I know you can bc I have lucid dreams and took over from a nightmare character trying to kill me. Not sure if it was a demon but life got so much better after.

In job though it was caused by the devil, but Jesus has already won so I don't see the point in that anymore. But possibly there are occasions it is from the devil and God even. This is temptation though.... which Jesus said to pray not to lead into temptation.

There are so many physical things that attack us. The pollution in the air, water, and food. Honestly it's a miracle we're not all sick all the time. When people are going through a hard time (the death of a parent for example) and keep pushing through and working/volunteering they will get sick. That's why things tend to go wrong in 3's. It's a spiral. Our physical bodies can't keep up with our spiritual ones. People who overwork themselves tend to get sick. Sleep is also super important and allows our bodies to heal. There's a healing in fasting as well.

Hello Mary,

I think illnesses sometimes can have a spiritual cause, but often-times there is a natural cause.

Natural causes can be helped by a few simple steps. Get a good night's sleep, eat healthy-avoid high sugar, high salt and processed foods with unhealthy additives. Try to de-stress. Fresh air and mild exercise.

Spiritual causes- perhaps there is some kind of spiritual warfare and attack that's hitting you. Prayer and getting others to stand with you in prayer can help. Perhaps also keeping away from certain spiritually toxic situations and persons.

God Bless, I hope you feel better soon :)

They may be or may not be spiritual attacks. We must be careful not to view a non-spirtual related sickness or ailment as a spiritual attack, as that can cause a lot of stress. Even with a non-spirtual related sickness or ailment, I think the devil can take advantage of this situation to cause one to distance from God.

I remember one time my pastor talked about how he was getting really bad headaches. He prayed God would help him. God said, "Stop slamming energy drinks and start getting the sleep you need. I didn't design your body to be run into the ground like that."

@MaryM , are you or someone you know and love is dealing with some difficult disease like cancer or something?
I’m asking you this because most of your topics deal with the subject of human suffering and human suffering is a subject that bothers me a lot too and gets me down sometimes.

The only thing that lifts me up is the message of Jesus and His promise that will return and of course miracles throughout history which defy logic and explanation.
I’ve even opened a Miracles topic in this forum because I love talking about miracles when faced with the condition of human suffering.

God bless you and we are not alone here. God is going to make this fallen world, whole again. Big hugs.

It can be a spiritual attack; but not all sickness is a spiritual attack. Sometimes it's just the result of having human vulnerabilities.

I believe you are correct. I allow fear to rule me too often, instead of faith. I then allow sickness to come in and overwhelm me. I have become anxious and depressed since the covid pandemic.

I do pray a lot, God does deliver me and I know I wouldn't come through without Him.

Yes indeed, our bodies do wear out and wear down. But often I feel such darkness descend upon me when I am in pain. I pray and then I know I am strengthening again.

Yes, I can see that. Spirits of wickedness trying to take advantage of our weakened condition.

Not sure how old you are but a lot of older people seem a bit fearful and worrisome to me about health, loneliness, etc. They took it in better stride when younger. I know younger people with some issues but they are not as fearful.

Absolutely, I am very frightened as my body gets pain and sickness. My strength is sapped.
It was easy in youth to bounce back because my energy and vitality seemed boundless.

I try and yes it helps. Especially as some friends are far braver and more philosophical than I. I get inspiration from them.

But in the dark hours of night, it is anxiety that gets me. So I pray and find strength.
