The Apostles were not ordinary people, they could raise the dead, heal the sick, and perform miracles. They were possessed by the Holy Spirit, therefore, they could not lie or make mistakes. So when you read in Acts chapter 5 verse 30. Peter says that Jesus died hanging on a tree. Later in Acts 10 verse 41, Peter again says Jesus was hanged on a tree. Two times the Apostle Paul says that Jesus was nailed to a tree- the idea of the holy cross becomes suspect. What better way to get Christians to commit Idolatry, then to introduce a false story of the cross. People don't recognize this as Idolatry because after all ( Jesus died for our sins on the Cross )) the Cross represents Jesus. NO IT DOES NOT according to the Apostle Paul Lines in the New Testament that refers to Jesus and the cross, have been planted to deceive you. You can only know for certain that the Words and Prophecies of Jesus and the Apostles are true.

That is certainly questionable. Peter himself needed correction from Paul. Anywho...

The Romans nailed people to crosses, which were made of trees.

Anything is an idol if you worship it. I do not worship the little white cross that hangs from my rear-view mirror. I don't worship the little silver fish emblem on my front bumper either.

I'm afraid that the only deceptive thing in this thread is your OP.

...and perhaps we should revist what the definition of sin is. Sin is rebellion against known truth set forth by God. It is more than simple deception as a result of innocent ignorance. The incident in the garden was direct disobedience of a direct command from God.

Genesis 3:2,3
“And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die."

Genesis 3:17
“And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;”

Normally I say ‘Welcome’ to newcomers, but I really think “ Don’t let the door hit you as you leave” is more appropriate in this case.

It is an interesting question. I tend to agree with you. Crucifixion was the Roman way and I presume it was on a cross not a tree. But crosses are made from wood. Didn't Christ drag his own cross and was helped along the way by a man called Simon? I presume he wasn't dragging a tree. Nor was he hanged by the neck. I will look up the details in the Gospels though, as it is important to clarify.

I certainly don't worship any cross or object. I worship Jesus as my wondrous loving saviour. I wear a cross to indicate I am a Christian.

Did the apostles raise the dead?
I think they were were very ordinary people of the time, made extraordinary by being with Jesus - and this remains true. Those who follow Him become different, better and blessed.

In fact they could and did make mistakes. Just like us all. Only Jesus is perfect and sinless.

1 John 1:8-10~ If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the Truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His Word is not in us.:)

This is why I like the writings of John so much. He just reported what Jesus said and did, and never talked about himself and his own adventures.

Peter raised a woman named Dorcas (aka Tabitha, Acts 9:36-42), and Paul revived a man
named Eutychus who had fallen asleep and fell from a window to his death (Acts 20:7-12).

As written in Galatians 2, Paul harshly confronted Peter publicly about his (Peter's) refusal to eat with Gentiles because he was afraid of those who were of "the circumcision".

How much more serious it is to deny the very work that Christ Jesus Himself did. If one denies ANY part of what Christ did, that person denies ALL of it.

Technically, God raised them through Peter and Paul. God could do so through you and I at any time if He chose to.

Well, I would never glorify myself in attempting such things. I just pray for people when I see need.

People come to this forum and just spout strange stuff very regularly.
As one fella said the wooden cross, (the one that he carried until Simon carried it for him) is made of wood which comes from trees. Also; note that tree is used in many ways in language, the wooden cross beam that connect a horse or team of horses to a wagon is called a tree, the little rod used to hold an animals legs apart while being butchered also a tree, successive loads suspended from a crane also tree along with many other uses.

Also why so many not attending church want to school the churched. Disembodied extremities dont have much to offer the body.
