One of the greatest and most successful accomplishments of the Prince of Lies has been to successfully cleave God’s word into two separate halves. No other accomplishment of his has yielded so vast a harvest or produced so ripe a fruit.

On one hand, the very real revelation of God’s laws and spiritual principals are marginalized and so, easily dismissed. “That’s old thinking.” Those old laws and concepts of justice just don’t apply any longer.

On the other hand, when the “old” was rendered irrelevant, the “new” can be redefined into anything we like. “There is no need for discomfort.” We are new and enlightened. We will just build a new god and mold him to fit our needs.

The necessary result can only be idolatry.

This accomplishment matches the other great lie, that the Prince of Lies doesn’t even exist.

The old covenant, given to Israel at Sinai, was not given to the gentiles. The new covenant in Christ's blood is available to all, and has made the old covenant obsolete.

It's either one or the other, but not some foul alchemy of both. Christians are not under the Law given at Sinai... and never have been.

Why do you say that Satan is behind the distinction between the Old and the New Covenants? The Bible says that it is God Himself who has set aside the Old Covenant, and it is Christ Himself who has brought into existence the New Covenant.

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the New Testament [Covenant], which is shed for many for the remission of sins. (Mt 26:27,28)

In view of this Paul showed that the New Covenant is "far more glorious" than the Old Covenant.

2 CORINTHIANS 3: THE NEW COVENANT SUPERSEDES THE OLD COVENANT
5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the New Testament [Covenant]; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life.
7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
8 How shall not the ministration of the Spirit be rather glorious?
9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.

In view of this, you will need to RETRACT everything in your OP and start from scratch. Otherwise you will be found to be opposing God and Christ. Paul wrote only that which he received from the Holy Spirit.

I believe the post is in reference to omitting the Old testament in teaching due to the fact that the prophets and the writings point to Jesus Yeshua.

Sorry for the ambiguity. I was thinking two things at the same time. Basically I am saying, many think the Old and New Testaments are not one book. THEY ARE!.

Agreed, the doctrine that the NT deletes the old is a dangerous doctrine.

People tend to look at Jesus only what He did at the cross but skim over what He accomplished through His life.

Jesus is God and Jesus is the Creator of all things Colossians 1:16 and it was Jesus speaking at Mt Sinai writing the Ten Commandments that He did not come to destroy but to fulfill i.e. live out- fill full. Mat 5:17 telling us not to break the least of these commandments or teach others to break Mat 5:19-30

Jesus loves us so much He came not just to be our Sacrificial Lamb for sin offering so instead of going to a human priest with an animal sacrifice we can go directly to Him when we sin 1 John 3:4 Romans 7:7 for repentance and forgiveness but He showed us the righteous way to live to be our example, 1 John 2:6 Hebrews 4:15 1 Peter 2:21-22 and Jesus led by example John 15:10 Luke 4:16 what He taught Mat 5:17-30 Mat 15:3-9 Mat 19:17-19 the same as what He did John 15:10 John 14:15 Exo 20:6, Jesus would never lead us down the wrong path only teaching us what leads to reconciliation Rev 22:14 our salvation is from sin, not in sin Mat 1:21

God's character is reflected in His holy law and at the end we will either take on His character (image) or by default the image of other spirit Revelation 14:9 . We are made in the image of God to follow Him, but many prefer their own way instead which leads to separation. Jesus is trying to reconcile us by showing us the way, He is the door and led by example and through His teachings and all these decisions today will determine the path end up on.

Before faith we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith that should afterwards be revealed. The law is good, just, and spiritual. I think of it as containing the minimum standard of acceptable outward behavior which mankind was unable to keep. It is our schoolmaster that is meant to bring us to Christ. Once we're Christ's, the law of the Spirit of life holds us to a higher standard than that of the OT law.
Once we have the Spirit, no more is it an eye for an eye, but rather we're to turn the other check. To lust after another becomes adultery in one's heart. To hate a brother is to be a murderer in those who are indwelt by the Holy Spirit. The Lord now calls us to godliness in our motivations and attitudes. To be conformed to the image of Christ, who loved us while we were still sinners without faith. And once we're of the faith we're no longer under the schoolmaster of the law, but rather we've been freed from bondage to sin and the curse of death by the blood of Jesus.

Walking in the Spirit is greater than the letter and Jesus gave us an example of this right from the Ten Commandments teaching us not to break or teach others to break the least of these. Mat 5:19-30. Not only should we physically not commit murder or adultery or break the least of these commandments (Ten) we should not even think about doing them in our hearts, This is what it means to walk in the spirit of the law which is greater than the letter, not lesser as it changes our thoughts and feelings from the inside out. Once we are brought to Christ doesn’t mean we can now start worshipping other gods, or vain His holy name, covet or steal etc. Those who walk in His spirit are not hostile against God’s law Romans 8:7-8 but are keeping through love and faith 1 John 5:3 Romans 3:31 Rev 14:12

I agree with everything you have said. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider. But I must note with all respect, that everything you have posted comes from the "Second" Testament with no reference to the "First" . Yet everything referenced was announced "First". Yeshua himself said many times that he could do nothing but his Fathers will. His comments about the greatest commandment for example, comes directly from Torah. I have heard plenty of sermons about this statement from Yeshua but have never heard a single one giving credit to it's source.

My issue is NOT with the validity of Yeshua nor with the writings of any disciple. Those writings they are the inspired word of God. My concern is how those words can be twisted if our focus is entirely in the Second Testament.

Until we read the whole bible, and preach from it; we miss the fullness and richness of God's revelation of himself to his people. A slice of pie is good, pie and ice-cream is even better.

I quote a lot from the OT too, maybe not on that post, but I do often. Jesus and the apostles taught from the OT and it would be impossible to understand the NT without understanding the OT.

2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for [a]instruction in righteousness,

God bless!

Your focus had better be on the New Covenant. That is what God wants! And nobody is twisting any words except you. The New Covenant or Testament (NOT "the Second Testament" as you have twisted the words of Christ) is ratified with the shed blood of Christ. So any attempt by you or anyone else to resort to the Old Covenant is actually a slap in the face of God and Christ. Read the epistle to the Hebrews as well as what I posted from 2 Corinthians 3.

Who specifically are you talking about? I have been all over the USA and have never been taught that the old testament is separate from the new. What I do notice though, are teachers who try to get babes in Christ to go back to the old testament to maintain salvation from it.

Can you show me the mystery doctrines from the old testament?

Eph 3~~1 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles— 2 if indeed you have heard of the administration of God’s grace which was given to me for you; 3 that by revelation there was made known to me the mystery, as I wrote before briefly. 4 By referring to this, when you read you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, 5 which in other generations was not made known to mankind, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit; 6 to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel, 7 of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of God’s grace which was given to me according to the working of His power. 8 To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ, 9 and to enlighten all people as to what the plan of the mystery is which for ages has been hidden in God, who created all things;

Religion, IMO is satans greatest deception. He uses both the old and new testaments and twists Gods word to deceive many.

In Jeremiah 31:31-33, the New Covenant was only made with the house of Judah and the house of Israel, so it is by becoming part of Israel through faith in Christ that Gentiles are able to become partakes of the New Covenant, moreover, the New Covenant still involves following God's law. The God of Israel has given instructions for how to know, love, worship, believe in, and testify about Him, so Gentles who want to do those things can follow those instructions, but Gentiles can't do those things instead of following those instructions. Christ spent his ministry teaching his followers to obey the Mosaic Law by word and by example, so Gentiles can look at what he taught and decided whether or not to follow him, but Gentiles can't follow him by refusing to follow what he taught.

In Jeremiah 31:33, the New Covenant involves God putting the Mosaic Law in our minds and writing it on our hearts, so while we are under the New Covenant and not the Mosaic Covenant, the OP is still correct. The Mosaic Law is God's word and Christ is God's word made flesh, so it is opposing the Mosaic Law that is opposing God and Christ. Likewise, the Spirit has the role of leading us to obey the Mosaic Law (Ezekiel 36:26-27), so the issue is not with being under the New Covenant, but rather it is with thinking that the New Covenant involves setting aside God's laws.

This is a tired argument and needs to be put to rest. The covenant was not made with all gentiles, period. Were there a few gentiles among the Israelites? Yes. Their presence is incidental, not material, to the covenant. Not until a gentile had submitted to all the requirements under the Law, were they considered "part of" Israel; mere belief was not sufficient.

In Jeremiah 31:31-33, the New Covenant was only made with the house of Judah and the house of Israel, so it is by becoming part of Israel through faith in Christ that Gentiles are able to become partakes of the New Covenant.
Your statement is awkward and is crying out for clarification, but I'll let it go for now.

moreover, the New Covenant still involves following God's law.
Um, no. It involves believing in Jesus Christ for salvation.

The God of Israel has given instructions for how to know, love, worship, believe in, and testify about Him, so Gentles who want to do those things can follow those instructions, but Gentiles can't do those things instead of following those instructions.
That doesn't make any sense.

Christ spent his ministry teaching his followers to obey the Mosaic Law by word and by example, so Gentiles can look at what he taught and decided whether or not to follow him, but Gentiles can't follow him by refusing to follow what he taught.
Again, that doesn't make sense. God didn't tell us to "follow Christ's example"; He told us to "believe in the One He has sent": Jesus. There is a massive difference. Jesus' ministry was primarily to people who were under the Sinai covenant, not the new covenant. Of course He taught them to follow Moses. However, upon His death, that covenant came to an end and the new covenant in His blood was initiated.

The fruits of the Spirit are aspects of God's nature, the Son is the embodiment of the fruits of the Spirit, and God's word is His instructions for how to embody His nature, which is why Jesus is God's word made flesh. The Son is the image of the inviable God (Colossians 1:15) and he is the radiance of God's glory and the exact image of His nature (Hebrews 1:3), so while we can't see invisible aspects of God's nature like holiness, righteousness, goodness, justice, mercy, faithfulness, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, and self-control, the Son is the these aspects of God's nature in the form of a body that we can see, which he expressed through setting a sinless example of how to walk in obedience to the Mosaic Law, which is why the Spirit has the role of leading us to obey it (Ezekiel 36:26-27). In other words, Jesus is who we see when we look at the Father and following his example of expressing God's nature is what it means to be conformed to his image. In Matthew 7:23, Jesus said that he would tell those who are workers of lawlessness to depart from him because he never knew them, so the Mosaic Law brings to Christ because it teaches us how to know him through acting in accordance with his nature, but it does not lead us to him so that we can then reject his example.

So the law is not just about outward behavior, otherwise God would not have disdained it when His people honored Him with their lips while their hearts were far from him (Isaiah 29:13). Furthermore, it is not a standard that mankind is unable to keep, but rather Deuteronomy 30:11-20 says that the Mosaic Law is not too difficult for us to keep and that obedience to it brings life and a blessing while disobedience brings death and a curse, so choose life! So it was presented as a possibility and as a choice, not as something that we are unable to keep, moreover, Romans 10:5-8 references Deuteronomy 30:11-20 as the word of faith that we proclaim. In addition, there are examples of people who did keep God's laws, such as in Joshua 22:1-3, Luke 1:5-6, Revelation 14:12, and Revelation 22:14. The Spirit of Life does not hold us to a higher standard than God's nature, but has the role of leading us to express it in accordance with the Mosaic Law.

In Deuteronomy 4:2, it is a sin to add to or subtract from the Mosaic Law, so that is not what Jesus was doing in Matthew 5. In Matthew 4, Jesus consistently preceded his direct quotes from what was written in Scripture by saying "it is written...", but in Matthew 5, he consistently preceded his direct quotes from what the people had heard being said by preceding it by saying "you have heard that it was said...", so his emphasis on the different forms of communication is important. Jesus was not violating Deuteronomy 4:2 by making changes to what was written, but rather he was fulfilling the law by correcting what the people had heard being said about it and by teaching how to correctly obey it as it was originally intended.

An eye for an eye is still a good guidelines for judges to make sure that the sentencing does not escalate out of proportion to the offense, but it was not intended to be used in personal situations to justify taking revenge into our own hands. Not repaying in kind is in accordance with Proverbs 20:22 and 24:29, so Jesus was not teaching anything that was brand new. Likewise, if we correctly understand what is being commanded by the 7th and 10th Commandments against adultery and coveting in our heart, then we won't look at a married woman with lust in our hearts, so that is again nothing brand new, and is not a higher standard than the Mosaic Law. Similarly, we are commanded not to hate our brother in Leviticus 19:17.

Their presence is incidental, not material, to the covenant. Not until a gentile had submitted to all the requirements under the Law, were they considered "part of" Israel; mere belief was not sufficient.
Multitudes is not the same as a few and they were included into Israel, so you are hand waving. The Mosaic Law is the instructions of the God of Israel for how to believe in Him, which is why there are many verses that connect our faith or belief in God with our obedience to Him, such as Revelation 14:12, where those who kept faith in Jesus are the same as those who kept God's commandments. By doing good works in obedience to the Mosaic Law, we are testifying that God is good, which is why our good works bring glory to Him (Matthew 5:16), and by testifying that God is good, we are also expressing the belief that He is good, or in other words, we are believing in Him. In other words, the way to believe in God is by being conformed to His image, so the way to believe that God is righteous is by doing what ice righteous, the way to believe that God is holy is by being holy as He is holy, and so forth. So only those who obey the Mosaic Law believe in the God of Israel.

Your statement is awkward and is crying out for clarification, but I'll let it go for now.
The New Covenant was only made with the house of Judah and the house of Israel, so if a Gentiles wants to partake in the New Covenant, then they need to become part of Israel, which happens through faith in the God of Israel/Christ.

Um, no. It involves believing in Jesus Christ for salvation.
While it is true that the New Covenant involvers believing in Jesus Christ for salvation, that does not mean that it is false that according to Jeremiah 31:33, it involves God putting the Mosaic Law in our minds and writing it on our hearts, especially because the Mosaic Law is God's instructions for how to believe in Jesus Christ for salvation.

That doesn't make any sense.
In Exodus 33:13, Moses wanted God to be gracious to him by teaching him to walk in His way that he and Israel might know Him, and in 1 Kings 2:1-3, God taught how to walk in His way through the Mosaic Law, so if a Gentile wants to know the God of Israel, which is eternal life (John 17:3), then they need to follow the Mosaic Law, which is also why Jesus said that the way to inherit eternal life is by obeying God's commandments (Matthew 19:17, Luke 10:25-28).

The God of Israel also gave instructions to the Israelites for how to worship Him, so if a Gentile wants to worship the God of Israel, then they need to follow those instructions.

Likewise, the Bible repeatedly says in both the NT and the OT that if we love the God of Israel, then we will obey His commandments, so if someone wants to love God, then they need to obey His commandments, and it is impossible to love God instead of obeying His commandments. So by following instructions for the God of Israel for how to be holy as He is holy, we are knowing His holiness, we are loving His holiness, we are worshipping His holiness, we are believing in His holiness, and we are testifying about His holiness, so Gentiles who want to know, love, worship, believe, and testify about the God of Israel need to follow those instructions.

In Matthew 4:15-23, Christ began his ministry with the Gospel message to repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand, which was a light to the Gentles, and the Mosaic Law was how his audience knew what sin is (Romans 3:20), so repenting from our disobedience to it is a central part of the Gospel message. Furthermore, Christ set a sinless example of how to walk in obedience to the Mosaic Law and as his followers we are told to follow his example (1 Peter 2:21-22), that those who are in Christ are obligated to walk in the same way he walked (1 John 2:6), and to be imitators of Paul as he is of Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1). The fact that we are to believe in the one that God has sent does not mean that we are not instructed to follow his example, especially because following his example is the way to believe in the one that God has sent. Jesus did not establish the New Covenant for the purpose of undermining anything that he spent his ministry teaching by word or by example, but rather the New Covenant still involves following the Mosaic Law (Jeremiah 31:33). Moreover, John 12:46-50 does not give us any room to disregard anything that Jesus taught during his ministry. In Titus 2:14, Jesus gave himself to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people of his own possession who are zealous for doing good works, so becoming zealous for doing good works in obedience to the Mosaic Law is the way to believe in what Jesus accomplished through his ministry and through the cross (Acts 21:20).

Who specifically are you talking about? I have been all over the USA and have never been taught that the old testament is separate from the new. What I do notice though, are teachers who try to get babes in Christ to go back to the old testament to maintain salvation from it.

Can you show me the mystery doctrines from the old testament?

Eph 3~~1 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles— 2 if indeed you have heard of the administration of God’s grace which was given to me for you; 3 that by revelation there was made known to me the mystery, as I wrote before briefly. 4 By referring to this, when you read you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, 5 which in other generations was not made known to mankind, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit; 6 to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel, 7 of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of God’s grace which was given to me according to the working of His power. 8 To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ, 9 and to enlighten all people as to what the plan of the mystery is which for ages has been hidden in God, who created all things;

Religion, IMO is satans greatest deception. He uses both the old and new testaments and twists Gods word to deceive many.
The mystery refers to the Sod level of interpretation in PaRDeS.

Gentiles being fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel is directly connected with living in obedience to God's law. In Matthew 4:15-23, Jesus began his ministry with the Gospel message to repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand, which was a light to the Gentiles, and God's law was how his audience knew what sin is (Romans 3:20), so repenting from our disobedience to it is a central part of Ephesians 3:6. That God's message is in accordance with Jesus being sent in fulfillment of the promise to bless us by turning us from our wickedness (Acts 3:25-26), which was the Gospel that was made known in advance to Abraham in accordance with the promise (Galatians 3:8), which he taught to Gentiles in Haran in accordance with the promise (Genesis 12:1-5).

In Genesis 18:19, God knew Abraham that he would teach his children and those of his household to walk in His way by doing righteousness and justice that the Lord may bring to him all that He has promised. In Genesis 26:4-5, God will multiply Abraham's children as the stars in the heaven, to his children He will give all of these lands, and through his children all of the nations of the earth will be blessed because he heard God's voice and guarded His charge, His commandments, His statutes, and His laws. In Deuteronomy 30:16, if the children of Abraham will love God with all of their heart by walking in His way in obedience to His commandments, statutes, and laws, then they will live and multiply and God will bless them in the land that they go to possess. So the promise was made to Abraham and brought about because he walked in God's way in obedience to His law, he taught his children and those of his household to do that, and because they did that.

In Psalms 119:1-3, God's law is how the children of Abraham knew how to blessed by walking in God's way, and in John 8:39, Jesus said that if they were children of Abraham, then they would be doing the same works as him, so the way that the children of Abraham and multiplied and are a blessing to the nations in accordance with inheriting the promise through faith is by turning the nations from their wickedness and by teaching them do the same works as Abraham by walking in God's way in obedience to His law in accordance with spreading the Gospel of the Kingdom.
