Picture the scene:

You're sitting down to a beautiful table setting, just about ready to enjoy your classically cooked ham and cheese omelet, and it's looking something like this:

But as you begin to sliced into that folded half moon of fluffy goodness, the person across from you is digging into a plate of eggs so runny, they might as well have been served in a soup bowl:

Obviously, the two of you are UNEQUALLY YOLKED?!

How would you handle this situation?

* Would the differences in egg preferences bother you?

* Would you try to talk the person and convert him/her from their heathen ways?

* Would it affect how much you were able enjoy your own meal?

* Or would you ask for a sample, because you too like eating eggs that double as soup?

* NEEDED DISCLAIMER * -- Here in Singles, we've had threads by the dozen (and much more) discussing being unequally yoked, which we all know is a very serious and Biblical topic. If anyone else wants to start a current thread about that subject, please feel free.


This thread, however, is about just having a little fun discussing what would we would do if we find ourselves in the company of someone with whom we are unequally yolked. (Admittedly, I'm also curious as to whether people will answer this thread without reading the OP and just assume its about yoking, which might be amusing.) :D

How do YOU personally like your eggs?

And what are the other ways of fixing eggs that you consider to be totally heathen? :)

I like my eggs in omelet style. How others eat theirs is up to them.

I don't care what somebody else eats, as long as I am not required to eat it. I like my eggs well done, because I'm not a big fan of live bacteria. But if the hypothetical she wants to eat slimy eggs, that's her problem.

I will make an observation though. Grandma likes slimy eggs. I have cooked eggs for her, turned them out into a bowl and cooked the rest of the eggs well done for me. 17 seconds is the difference. 17 whole seconds between slimy and perfect.

My least favorite is scrambled. I have seen all types of scrambled eggs from dry, wet, runny, soggy, diced-looking, large pieces, etc where I've mostly been disappointed. It also requires more tools/utensils to make them. I also do not like very runny/basically uncooked eggs. My go-to are fried eggs or over medium.

I wish they had a, "That Was Really Interesting And Helped Me Learn More About You!" emoji.

I tend to overuse the I(nformative) emoji because it seems to be the most generic, unfortunately.

I love posts like this that show a little bit more of a person's thoughts and personality. I love scrambled eggs, but you are definitely right in that they are surprisingly easy to mess up. :(

I love my eggs lol......just not boiled 🤢. Poached eggs are my favorite but they have to be on grams toast with salt and pepper.They are delicious.

As far as being unequally yoked goes, if we were already married and I became a believer I would try to help the believe. If then they refused, I would stay faithful to the lord as well as my wife. I would still love her but I would always put the lord first. Who knows maybe she would see the lord working in my life and she would want to become a believer. I would stay with her.

Oh yeah, as to METHOD of cooking...

I like 'em scrambled, poached, hard boiled, fried, omelette-ed, quiched...

I've tried chicken eggs, duck eggs, guinea, emu... All eggs are good. They all taste different, but they are all good.

Only way I don't like eggs is half raw. HARD boiled, not soft boiled. Scrambled until they're not slimy. Fried until they don't pour out at all when you poke them.

A lot of people have mentioned omelette...

I must mention the best way I have found to eat an omelette, regardless of what is in it, is with salsa and sour cream on top of it. Cheese omelette, mushroom omelette, western omelette - all of them taste better with salsa and sour cream on top.

Given where you live...

There is a country style restaurant on 11-E highway, just east of GreenEville. Ever been there? They make some good omelettes, or they used to.

Just checked my phone's map and it claims the place is now called Harvest Family Restaurant.

No, haven't been there but have been to a Cracker Barrel in Crossville. Had a western omelet, hash browns, multi-grain toast, bacon, grapefruit juice, and coffee. Love breakfast foods. Do not care for runny eggs at all.

Great post :D

I like omelettes (if I am the one making them) and I like over hard eggs. Next choice would be hardboiled egg or scrambled. I'm not a fan of soft or runny eggs. I'm not opposed to the person I'm eating with having runny or soft eggs. I'm more concerned with table manners as far as food goes. In other words, it'd be preferable if they eat their egg with their mouth closed, I certainly don't need to see the runny yolk at that point :oops:

Hard boiled eggs are good too. Need a little bit of salt to season though.

wouldn't even think about it. no, not a bother. no. no. no. i like sunny side up, scrambled & poached. i do not like omelets. no heathen egg fixings.
