I was sad to read that omelets are apparently part of the heathen egg fixings (I love omelets, but they have to be completely solid -- no jiggly centers!) but I can completely respect your egg choices. :)
to me, when i'm making eggs with fixings, in omelette form, the hard texture of the omelette removes the enjoyment of the fixings. like a "cancelling out" effect.

All this talk about omelettes reminds me of what I like to do with leftover pizza.

I scrape the cheese and toppings into a pan, crack a few eggs and cook the whole mess scrambled. I eat the crust with a bit of butter while the eggs-n-stuff is cooking.

As all the customary pizza toppings would be right at home in an omelette, I call it a scrambled omelette.

I eat real eggs, like from a hen. Scrambled, easy, poached, fried, foo yung, tea, hard boiled, soft boiled, omeletted, benedict, fried rice, tea eggs..egg tart, in soup..in porridge, egg with tomatoes and egg with chives and parsley and mushrooms.

I'll even eat 1000 year old ones inside mooncakes, but you need to be a special person to like those.

Besides it is MUCH harder to cook those kinds of eggs scrambled. :p

I'm glad you looked that up. For some reason, I never bothered to look into it. My grandmother also was allergic to chicken eggs, so I guess it was passed on to me.

No parakeets for me. I like watching birds...outside.

There may not be any flavor in the egg white itself, but when you stir it all up...

I just got through eating a marvelous pan of scrambled eggs. I found a can of heavy coconut cream at the salvage grocery - ONLY coconut and water in the ingredients. After eating half the can last night I saved the rest to scramble into 7 eggs this morning.

The breakfast of champions!

Picture the scene:

You're sitting down to a beautiful table setting, just about ready to enjoy your classically cooked ham and cheese omelet, and it's looking something like this:

But as you begin to sliced into that folded half moon of fluffy goodness, the person across from you is digging into a plate of eggs so runny, they might as well have been served in a soup bowl:

Obviously, the two of you are UNEQUALLY YOLKED?!

How would you handle this situation?

* Would the differences in egg preferences bother you?

* Would you try to talk the person and convert him/her from their heathen ways?

* Would it affect how much you were able enjoy your own meal?

* Or would you ask for a sample, because you too like eating eggs that double as soup?

* NEEDED DISCLAIMER * -- Here in Singles, we've had threads by the dozen (and much more) discussing being unequally yoked, which we all know is a very serious and Biblical topic. If anyone else wants to start a current thread about that subject, please feel free.


This thread, however, is about just having a little fun discussing what would we would do if we find ourselves in the company of someone with whom we are unequally yolked. (Admittedly, I'm also curious as to whether people will answer this thread without reading the OP and just assume its about yoking, which might be amusing.) :D

So in the spirit of the thread...

How do YOU personally like your eggs?

And what are the other ways of fixing eggs that you consider to be totally heathen? :)

I love eggs. Period. Sunny-side up, scrambled, omeletted... makes little difference. I can think of no heathenness when it comes to eggs, except maybe pulling a Rocky and eating them raw.

And egg custard.
I haven't made egg custard in a while. It's a fave.

I shouldn't have skipped breakfast.

I also. My whole family has a strong history of eating all kinds of eggs, cooked all kinds of different ways.

Real conversation that happened at church one night:
"I brought some extra sister martha, but she's not here."
"Give them to freddy. He likes eggs."
"Nope."
"You don't like eggs?"
"Don't like eggs."
...
...
"You love eggs."

Someone said deviled eggs and here I am!

That's what I make at just about every family dinner. Like, before a family dinner multiple people will call me up to make sure I am making deviled eggs.

I do something different every time. Cream cheese and pickled pepper juice, pureed bell pepper and sour cream, blue cheese and lemon juice... Whatever I feel like will go well together.

My mother used to put sandwich spread in them. Sandwich spread is kind of like McDonald's Big Mac sauce. Unfortunately the good brand she used to use is no longer in production. In fact I could only find one brand last time I wanted to make deviled eggs that way, and it was terrible!

How do you make deviled eggs? Do you do the same thing every time? What do you do like to put in them?

I've never liked hard boiled eggs yolks and always give them to family members who like them if possible.

Hooray for throwing off those heavy yolks and finally going free at last! 😬
There's something else I almost always do before frying/scrambling eggs, or making an omelette*:
I remove the two white dangly bits hanging off the yolks. They give me the heebie-jeebies LOL
I can remember doing this for as long as I have cooked for myself, and probably did it before
moving away from home if I was baking something. I scoop each yolk up in a spoon to allow
them to hang over the side, which makes them easy to pinch off, and down the drain they go!


*Or baking a cake of any type... .:unsure::whistle::giggle::LOL::giggle::whistle::unsure:

Actually, that beverage can be a contentious topic of discussion. I enjoy it during the holidays with a sprinkle of nutmeg on top. If I was still a drinking man I would add a shot of rum or a splash of Jack.

Alcohol consumption is another contentious topic, especially in the Bible Discussion Forum. It is best to avoid such a place.
