Last night, my bed was shaking (please, no jokes :p).
Either I'm Linda Blair, or it's an earthquake.
I went online and found that we had a 5.1 earthquake.

While growing up in Long Beach, California, I slept through all tremors and earthquakes. One night there was a pretty good shaker. My mother told us her bed was rolling around the bedroom on its castors, with her on it, horrified. I slpt through that one too. It also knocked over my older brother pigeon cage,, freeing them all.
Now, on the east coast of Spain, I feel the slightest tremors, and even sense where they originate. I am usually correct to within a mile. Go figure!

Wow, you used to be a really heavy sleeper! I think it's normal to change over time, although sometimes I feel like I change daily lol. Sometimes I sleep lightly and sometimes dead to the world. I haven't been woken up by an earthquake.

That was over 70 years ago, so yes we do change, a lot! God bless You.

Beautiful sunny day here... and my 'puter says it is 8 C. Could have been warmer earlier...

An earthquake awoke me once, many years ago. A friend had been over the night before
talking a lot about volunteering for the SPCA and her love of dog-walking. When the quake
shook my bed, and me awake, I thought a dog had jumped onto the foot of my bed

I hear Atlanta had very loud storm last night.

Meanwhile, here in Oklahoma it snowed. This morning it was as if someone had dumped a giant Slushy all over the area. By this evening, I was able to go for a walk and all was clear.

I forgot to buy onions when at the store the other day. I went to another earlier and the entire big bin of onions was moldy.
Out back there are a lot of wild ones that think it's spring already. Tomorrow before dinner I should go pick some.

It's still pretty warm and raining right now.
I emptied all the clear water from my well and it's already filling fast.

I use onions like there is no tomorrow. If I'm cooking it, it has onions (except for dessert :p). I haven't picked wild onions. There is a large patch of wild garlic in the yard. I've been noticing lately that they are already starting to come up. Wait a minute....are wild onions and wild garlic the same thing? I'm reading that they can go by either name. I should investigate!

They look similar. They onions when young enough have chives for stems, although they aren't technically chives, that's how I use them. Wild garlic has a more fibrosis tough stem and form tiny cloves. There's a false garlic that's somewhat toxic I've read about, but I would check YouTube or an online field guide if you want to be sure. You already know this, but also make sure there's been no sprays used where you pick them because they'll draw that up.
It's nice that they are so handy right there in our yards, isn't it?

Garlic and onions go with nearly everything.
I draw the line at ice cream though.

Thank you for the information! I look forward to getting better acquainted with the garlic patch outside!
I don't spray the yard and the patch is in the center of the yard, so it's even fairly far away from fumes from the road. The patch attracts some neat insects. I had been wanting to see a hummingbird moth and while out one evening watching my woodchuck buddies I happen to see one working the garlic patch. Very neat.

Your mention of garlic ice cream prompted me to do a search to see if there is a recipe for it (just for the humor of it). Surprisingly, such an ice cream actually exists!
If I try the recipe, I promise to not offer you any lol

Thank you for the videos! I am excited to find out what it really is that's in the yard!

I have learned some flavors just do not go well together.

I make boiled custard, a gallon at a time. I've used vanilla, chocolate peanut butter, almond extract, etc. for flavoring. One time I thought I'd try anise...

BIG mistake! Licorice and boiled egg should never, ever, ever be combined.
