I posted a thread just like this back in the day, and it was really fun! I loved finding out random things about people :giggle:. Seemed like it's time to bring it back because we keep derailing other threads with chit-chat and making @Lynx and @stingray72 uncomfortable with our "girl talk".

So, the rules are pretty simple....tag another member with @(their full username) and ask them a question! All are welcome to participate, including married members (though they're not as likely to find this thread). I trust all will keep their questions appropriate, and if you are asked something you are not comfortable answering then just politely say so. Questions can be serious, silly, deep, random.... have fun!

Oooh, I've been sitting here on my perch, patiently waiting for this thread...

For anyone who doesn't know how to "tag" someone, just type in @ (above the #2 key on my keyboard) and then their name. The CC system will also usually pull up a menu of names and you can choose the right one from the list. @seoulsearch

If you have any questions, let us know. :)

I've always wanted to ask...

@RodB651 -- if you met the perfect woman: Christian, beautiful, kind, your family loves her -- BUT, she LIKED paying taxes, would you break up with her?!

Inquiring minds need to know!! 🙃

Ok, I'll ask the first questions..... please forgive me if any of these are too nosy, nobody is obligated to answer!

@Susanna -what kind of motorcycle do you ride?

@Magenta -can you share a random bit of wisdom from your life's experiences?

@Lynx -what food do you most regret trying?

@notmyown -please tell us something most people don't know about motherhood

@stingray72 -have you always had such a positive outlook, or did God have to bring you around to it?

@HealthAndHappiness -what is your favorite hike/trail in West Virginia?

@Cameron143 -what is the most important lesson you learned from being a single Dad?

@Oncefallen -why do you put up with us? (this isn't a joke, I really am curious!)

@ThereRoseaLamb -you once mentioned meeting your husband on Myspace. Tell us your story? :giggle:

Edit- I did NOT ask the first questions, Seoul beat me to it!

That's an easy one.

I love going to the Salvage grocery, not to save money but to find interesting things I probably would not find at Walmart, at prices low enough that I don't worry about wasting money to try them. "At that price, why not?"

A can of mackerel? For $0.99, why not? If I don't like them, the dog has a good day.

Hostess bouncers? Looks like donut holes, but for 49 cents a box, why not? If I don't like them Grandma will.

One day I found a little tin of bristling anchovies. At that price, why not? So I bought it and tried it... And quickly discovered why not.

My knees are killing me so it’s currently stashed away. It’s an old Yamaha that offers a pleasant ride and a relaxed feel (did this sound like a commercial?)

Have you always had such a positive outlook, or did God have to bring you around to it?

I would like to say that ive always had this positive outlook but the truth of the matter is that God and the reality of his word is what has really made this change in me. Im also honored that someone has seen this quality in me its just a testament to the changing process that a walk with the Lord can have to him be the Glory.

@seoulsearch if you had to say what is the most profound thing that you have learned caring for the children that God has placed around you? Forgive me if its too personal and feel free to answer with any question you would like instead.

Well first I'm humbled to be included in a list of CC royalty. Obviously standards have been relaxed for my inclusion.
Going through a divorce after nearly 30 years of marriage is a difficult thing by itself, but it was much more difficult having 7 kids between the ages of 11 and 27. Truthfully, I was overwhelmed. I had to process my own feelings, help my kids not to become casualties of the divorce, and figure out how to manage two roles of parenting. And it was simply beyond my abilities. But it wasn't beyond God's abilities. All things are possible with God. And what could have been the destruction of a family actually brought great blessings to my family. Too many to mention here, but it was in fact the most spiritual time in my life. I came to realize that I was finding life in things other than God. My favorite verse is Psalm 23:1. When the Lord truly is our Shepherd, we will not want. There exists a relationship with God that is all-satisfying. I put a saying up on my wall so I would read it every day. I don't know who penned it, but it reads something like:

Thou who art all desirable, be all desired by me.

I must be less spiritual than most by I would ask @maxwel if he has been tested and what his IQ is? He has one of the most intelligent people I have come across and is blessed with an incredibly logical mind. And is he maybe Mr. Spock's son or close relative?

@Cameron143 what was the most rewarding thing that has happened to you since becoming a single father?
I kind of answered this in post #9. Knowing God more intimately is its own reward. I've always liked that God told Abraham that having no greater gift that He would be his reward.

@Snackersmom where did you get your name from and what would you say that persons best quality is that they inherited as a result of you.
Lol, this caused a lot of confusion back in the day when I first signed up here.... I'm not really a Mom. Snackers was a project in a college ceramics class. He seemed to have a lot of personality so I joked that he was my first child and worked it into my screen-name. But later I noticed that the teenagers here seemed more comfortable talking to me about problems they were having, because they assumed I was a Mom (of course after we got talking I told them who Snackers really was and they all thought it was funny).

That was the first inkling I had that I might be called to youth ministry. I had always wanted to be a Mom, now I have many pseudo kids that are not really my kids but I enjoy helping them grow in the nurture and admonition of The Lord nonetheless :).

What Snackers may have inherited from me.....an impish smirk of barely suppressed amusement and a penchant for harmless pranks :sneaky:;).
