Lord, have mercy on the old people. Heal their minds and their bodies and make them feel useful and give them a reason to live and meet their needs. Your word says Moses was 120 and his eye was not dim, Abraham was 100 and Sarah was 90 and they had a baby, and Caleb was 85 and still able to go out to war. So just because we are old doesn’t mean we have to be sick. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen

some words I'd love to hear but probably never will - "dad, what do you think about......." .
so I just sit quietly and watch. too old to be relevant.

This post just breaks my heart. I am so sorry.

I can't imagine not having any, "Dad, what do you think about..." conversations with my parents. And I'm flattered that this morning HE texted ME with, "Hey, what do you think about..."

I will definitely pray for you and your family. Sixty (from your profile) does not seem old to me at all and I will pray that God mends you and your famiy's hearts.

God bless you.

I have pretty much resigned myself to my current situation and it isn't really a big thing any more - just reality.
I appreciate your prayer though.
Profile needs an update - I'm 73 now

But please remember, dear brother, in front of the heavenly Father God, you will always be his beloved child, he is your heavenly father, you are his son, you can talk to him anytime and anywhere, in Jesus Christ we are all brothers and sisters, you are my brother, I am your sister, we have no age limit, in the Lord, we are all the same age, thank God! Brother, I wish you happiness every day! The original God blesses you! love you!

Is this picture of you? Why do I think you look handsome? your eyes are beautiful. Are they blue eyes? I was thinking, when you are young, you must be a very handsome man, and your eyes look very firm, some men or women, with age, the more mature charm! I admire people with wisdom and talent! You don't care about your age, you look fine!

Let us pray:
Lord, our compassionate Father, we lift up our elderly to You. Grant them strength, wisdom, and peace. May their days be filled with joy and purpose. Heal their bodies where possible, and comfort their spirits. Give them a renewed sense of worth and belonging. In Your holy name, we pray. Amen.

[When Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, the people rejected his teaching, and] they tried to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his time had not yet come. Still, many in the crowd put their faith in him. They said, "When the Christ comes, will he do more miraculous signs than this man?"

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, amen.

Lord, be with us when we are or become old. Give us the strength and the zest for life so that we would never feel ourselves weak or lonesome. Give us clear consciousness and lucid mind, keep us safe from all the mental and bodily deterioration. We beg You for Your mercy and thank You for all those examples of old people who are vigorous and energetic. They give us hope that we too will be like them. Help us to treasure our time here on earth and to make good use of it by constantly improving ourselves, our way of thinking and our behavior. May we bring forth fruits of the Holy Spirit by Your grace: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. For this we pray in the name of Jesus, amen.
