Hey Eli,

I really do appreciate the diagnosis, but I'm not planning on opening any further windows since I've already found one that works?

So far, everything is working in Opera just fine...
If anything happens on Opera, let me know.
I'm not having this issue but i've seen a few members here who have.

Do you know how to launch a Private window in Firefox? 3 dots, top right, select New Private Window.
Go to the site from that private window.
Also could you pls send the firefox version from the Help/About menu?
@Eli1

Out of curiosity, I tried opening (and logging into) CC in a Firefox Private Window -- and that seems to work. The site loaded, and the reactions seem to work just fine.

Any ideas why it works in a private window but not through the regular browser window?

Because of cookies.

You have to clear cookies properly and if Firefox is your primary browser, you may want to be careful what you clear since it may be your whole life there with usernames, passwords, history etc, things which you'd have to retype again and if you've forgotten passwords it could be a hassle.
So use your other browser unless you really want to clean all the cookies in firefox.

Now I'm really wondering why it didn't work when I cleared the cache in Chrome... I was willing to clear that one because I'd only logged into a handful of sites on that browser and didn't care about the cookies "remembering" anything there. But when I logged back into CC on Chrome, it still had the same problem.

Thank you again for taking the time to explain these things to us non-techie people! :)

In chrome click the 3 dots on the top right.
Select Delete Browsing Data
On the new window that pops up, click Advanced.
On the Timerange dropdown select All Time.
Select ALL the other unchecked boxes and hit Delete Data.

Then go back to this site, login and see if the reactions work.

I wish someone knows how to fix my reaction bar. I started a thread yesterday in this forum but still not listed. Perhaps my thread capability is diminished as well.
My reactions' bar disappeared just as I was reading and wanting to react to your post .o_O. It popped up fine but then all the icons promptly disappeared. I can hover over where they should be and a little information box will come up saying what it is, but I cannot make any selection. This is a different issue than I was having before. However, as I read some of the posts between Seoul and Eli, I went to Firefox and they are working fine here now... at least for now. I hope your thread comes through soon!

@Eli1, I tried your suggestions for Chrome, because I didn't want all your hard work to be for nothing.

Went through all the steps, deleted absolutely everything, had to re-login to CC...

And it still has the same glitch for the reactions, at least in Chrome. I haven't tried wiping Firefox because I have too many things there I'd have to reset.

But for now, Opera seems to be working on my end and so I guess I'll stick with it until I hear otherwise. But I included Lady Magenta's post here because she seems to have gotten Firefox to work.

Thank you again, Eli, for looking into this! :)

I did not reset anything. I already had FF open for the things I use it for (image searches,
Netflix, etc) and just opened a new tab for CC and the site was functioning properly in Firefox.

I have gotten that header or bad request error before also; I think it resolves when I close and reopen the browser...

* Close Google Chrome.
* Right click on the Windows start menu and select Run.
* On the box that comes up delete anything that could be there and then paste this command:
Code:
%localappdata%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Network
and hit ENTER.
* Windows explorer will open up to a specific destination and in there you'll see a bunch of files.
Look for a file called "Cookies" and right-click to rename it to Cookies.old.
* Open Google Chrome, sign in to the site again and try the reactions to see if they'll work.

I just followed all these exact steps.

I even hit "Reply" to produce a copy of your post so I could Copy and Paste the command you gave directly so I wouldn't mess it up (it wouldn't let me copy it from your original post.)

And... you'll notice how I gave your post a "Like." This is because, even after all those steps, that's all Chrome will let me do (I'm in Chrome right now after re-logging in, and you guessed it, same glitch.) Chrome only lets me give a Like -- the reaction menu flickers for a mili-second -- and then goes blank.

I hope I'm not sounding lazy, but this is by far too many tries for my little pea brain only to get the same results over and over. If there are any further ideas, I will surely bookmark them but we'll have to recruit someone else to test them, as I am totally drained.

I just didn't want you to think your efforts are unappreciated or unused! I appreciate your time and all the work you've put into this, but for now, I'm needing to tap out and utilize Opera as my current reaction emoji rescuer.

But for how long is anyone's guess.

Thank you so much for understanding!

I'm sorry for wimping out! :D I just know you always put in a lot of effort to help users with tech and I want you to know your time and work is always appreciated!

So, the things you've suggested here have all been tried, BUT, it could very well be something wrong on my end (including the user!) so I'm very grateful you've posted these tips for others to see.

Hopefully it will work for someone.

And now I'm switching over to Opera so I can give you something other than just a regular thumbs up "Like" reaction on your post!

Regarding browsers, I already had a Wave browser installed but have never used it. I clicked on the Wave browser, and went to Christianchat.com. Signed in. Reaction bar works again. Previously, I always used MS Edge. I think something bad happened during the most recent update and messed up the reaction bar. Life is good again, for sure. Actually, life was always good but it was very frustrating not being able to give a reaction besides 'like'.

Yeah, it is in Edge where it is not working for me. Wave browser, huh? Hmmmm! I had tried Brave some time ago, and Ms @seoulsearch has mentioned Opera, which I have also tried in the past, though I was under the impression that Opera was for Mac users? I could be wrong about that. I have not tried either for a while, and even my Chrome browser I rarely open any more except accidentally LOL. I am a conscientious objector to all the data gathering google does. I think some of the new browsers say they don't gather personal info, but can we really believe what they tell us in this regard? Oh, yes, the reactions also display properly on my phone! .
