1 JOHN 4:2-3

2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

I would argue Jehovah's Witnesses do not pass that test.

Perhaps Mormons but i dont know enough about them to say for sure. From what I know they believe Jesus is God, but there are three distinct Gods.

The biblical unitarians as they call themselves probably don't pass this either as they dont believe Jesus is divine but just a human being. Reason I say this is because there is nothing odd or miraculous of a human being "come in the flesh", which is why I believe this verse is referring to John 1:1 where the Word (who was God) became flesh. Its written by the same author so it would make sense for John to use it in this manner.

1John 4:2-3 . .This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit
that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but
every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the
spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is
already in the world.

Christ not only came in the flesh, but he came in the likeness of sinful flesh
(Rom 8:3) which tells me right off that Jesus wasn't a special creation,
rather, he is one of Adam's paternal descendants; and that is so very easy
to prove.

Luke 1:32 . .The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David

No man can be considered for David's place except they first and foremost
be Judah's paternal offspring.

Gen 49:10 . The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff
from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs.

The man considered must also be David's paternal offspring.

Ps 132:11 . .The Lord has sworn in truth unto David; and He will not turn
from it: "Of the fruit of your body will I set upon your throne"

The New Testament verifies that Jesus satisfies the paternal requirement.

Acts 2:29-30 . . Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the
patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us
unto this day. Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn
with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he
would raise up Christ to sit on his throne.

Rom 1:1-3 . . Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David
according to the flesh

There's really no need to trace David's paternal descent from Adam because
that element of Jesus' origin is seldom contested.

Gen 3:20 . . Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the
mother of all the living.

Acts 17:26 . . From one man he made every nation of men, that they
should inhabit the whole earth

Now the thing is; not every card-carrying Christian is agreeable with Jesus'
human origin. Whether they're all victims of the spirit of antichrist; I don't
know. I'd rather give them the benefit of the doubt and suggest maybe they
just haven't been sufficiently catechized.

To hopefully add some clarity to what John meant in that verse, it is my firm conviction that John was referring to the Christian gnostics of his day, who believed Christ didn't have a physical body because flesh was evil. I think most of 1 John is a rebuttal of their teachings, and when read in that light makes his letter make much more sense

Regarding the Title and Comment of this OP. The Title is wrong IMO because any "Christian Group" does confess Jesus is Christ. Non Christian Groups are a different story. There are many, many of them.... Off hand, the one that comes to mind are the Mormons.

Given that, then my answer to the Title would be: No Christian Group fails the test in the Scriptures posted.

We can discuss Christian groups, but the obvious Anti-Christ groups include most Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Atheists, etc.

Who here realises that the word "erchomai", translated here as "is come", can also be translated as "went/has gone". Both senses are true. Jesus both came and left in flesh. JWs certainly deny Jesus left in flesh.

Most Christians groups are not really Christians.
Perhaps because they stop reading 1JN 4 at verse 3 instead of continuing with verses 7-8f.: "Let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God [Christ] and knows God... because God is love..." (Cf. JN 13:35)

Interesting

Authorized (King James) Version

If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

Yet no other can do when tis done once for us all through his done work in his resurrected life for us to be given and walk new, not anymore having to, amazing we get to now choose to love all the same as are loved by God through Son first, amazing grace e given, to thank the Lord Father in it forever Psalm 100:4, seeing 103:12 as done for us in Son to us
All fear in being born again by God leaves and tries to return yet it can't not in the risen Son thanks

No one in the first birth but Son Jesus passed it. Went to death willingly first to fulfill Law and Prophets for us the people for all to pass it all in his done work first, past, present and future people. He did it, when he yelled in John 19:30 "It is Finished?"
What got finished?
Matthew 5:17
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

therefore on that cross, when he gave up the ghost, did he fulfill the Law and Prophets then or not? Just waiting now for the next person to. believe God personally and be given the risen Son to lead them in Father's Spirit and truth too, the Holy Spirit

It is done from what I read and get from the entire Bible written, seeing God simply loves us all, went to that cross willingly in Son to save us in Son's resurrected Life, yet the death had to happen first, to fulfill Law and Prophets of Jesus as the Messiah, the way, truth and new life offered each of us to beleive it or not consciously

they believe Jesus is a created being who didn't use to be a god but attained enough enlightenment to become one, and that every good mormon man will also become a god one day too with their own planet to be god over, and they can then decide for themselves whether or not to allow their wives to also be resurrected and maybe be goddesses, if they make enough baby gods for their taste.

they believe the same about God the Father - used to be just a man but became a god through enlightenment.

they are essentially more pantheistic even than hindus, difference being they only believe in one or two gods per planet.

heard the phrase, 'it's turtles all the way down?'
for mormons it's people ascended to godhood, all the way down. infinite cycle of not-gods becoming gods by tithing, wearing the right underwear, not drinking coffee, and knocking on doors to turn other people into gods.

And the only way this occurs is outlined in 1Coeinthians 2:14.

14. The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned

If this is true, mormons are either retarded or ignorant of these teachings. But anyone who hears this and knows this and still believes in it, is dumb as a rock.

EDIT: unfortunately a quick google search reveals it is true, from their own sources.

of course the beautiful 20-somethings they send to your door don't know this yet. they mostly hardly know anything about the 'deep teachings' reserved for 'elders'

and unfortunately there is a huge amount of social pressure on people in places like Utah that makes it very difficult for them to leave even when they know it's all hokey.

imo we should be evangelizing them, not the other way around. i see a visit by their missionaries as an opportunity to witness. i never turn them away, tho i won't let them into my house.

same with jw's - - though weirdly God has ordered it so that i have never been home to meet them, only mrs. post, and she has never met the morons, only me

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Yes that is what I observed.
All Christian Groups passed the Test. So, they are of God and not to Anti Christ.

The question is why they have different doctrines in salvation.
Every one of them claims that their group is the true followers of Jesus Christ.
How could that be?

I remember, back when I was a grasshopper young. Not that I am too old now 67.
I remember Mormons coming over to the house I grew up in. They continued to talk of Jesus, God and us to become God's. Said things like if I do not make it here on earth in this life as perfect, then I will be born again (Reincarnated) as new, a new person and try to do it all over again, and again until one day I attain God-hood

My eldest brother was there then too. I remember him standing up and escorting them out to never come back.
I saw truth the religion being a scam, and now see religion only means
What am I doing to get God to be pleased by me, that is what I see religion is
Then I saw if I ever get God to be pleased by me, in what I do or not do, then that would make me God of God, would it not?
So I left religion for a personal relationship with God the Father of the Son, that being the only one that ever pleased God perfectly.
